Starting and stopping won't be a problem for you. Your only concern will be when making turns at higher speeds, due to the high center of gravity.

If you take the turns at slow speeds, I don't believe you'll have any problems.

Additionally, you'll want to watch your overhead clearances. Your rollover protection system (ROPS) should be folded down (if possible) when transporting your tractor, as you will be well over 10 feet high. This will only be a concern in urban areas, where tree branches can sometimes hang quite low over the city streets.

You're only 18 inches higher than you would be with a lower trailer. It's not a big problem, but for the higher center of gravity, which will effect your ability to make turns at higher speeds.

I have a few suggestions that might serve you well.

Maybe you've seen the various drawbars available for the three point hitches. If so, you can use the holes in the drawbar for which to insert longer pieces of threaded rod that you can use to fasten your weights to the underside of the drawbar.

The idea here is to keep your weight as close to the ground as possible........preferrably below your tractor's rear axle....... when lifting heavier loads with your front end loader.

When in transit, you can lift the three point drawbar slightly to avoid obstacles that may be in your path, but this system will allow you keep your weights near to the ground, greatly helping to avoid any top-heavy situation that may arise.

Here's another suggestion...........

Your tractor may or may not have adjustable rear wheels. If so, spread your wheels out as far as possible on the rear axle when using your tractor for loader work. This will increase your tractor's stance, greatly improving your stability.

You should also move the rear wheels out to the last hole on the axle when mowing ditches, or anytime you are going to be working on uneven ground. This is the best way to help prevent a rollover.

Even with the extra rear weights and improved stance, please be careful. Never carry a load in your front end loader any higher than is absolutely necessary. Only raise your bucket when your tractor is stopped, and on level ground, such as when dumping.

During transit, from point A to point B, carry your loaded bucket just inches above the ground.

If you have a belly mower, the additional under-slung weight will also help improve your stability. However, it is very hard to maneuver on rough ground when the belly mower is attached. Damage can occur to both mower and tractor when engaging large bumps or ditches. For this reason the additional weight of the belly mower will help only when you are working in your driveway, or in your lawn.

Safety is the key here. Wear your seatbelt. Be careful.

Sounds good! Too good as I like it enough that to be told no, I'd eat it anyway. When a kid a group that I thought I needed to belong to had an initiation and I was to eat a jar of peanut butter! That alone was enough to make me want to join them!

Turned out to be a low battery caused by burned out fuse not keeping the battery charged. Not sure why the oil foamed out when it came down. Anyway the local trailer shop charged up the battery, checked the fluid and found the burned out fuse and replaced it. Everything works fine now. Oh yea, the best news was they only charged me $10. Not bad considering I didn't buy the trailer from them.

I do remember as a kid rowing copper sulfate in a burlap bag around our pond until the crystal rocks disolved. Then one day my Dad brought home this gallon of liquid we poured into the pond. The pond went cloudy for a day or two then cleared up. Worked like a charm until one day we used too much and all the fish less than 3 inches long died. I spent a day going around the pond picking them up. A very stinky job.

Brian, it certainly does relate to the metal. In ag tractor engines there are some that the crank needs to be turned everytime they are rebuilt even though they are a low rpm engine with 2200 being tops. Then there are some that turn 3000 and can be rebuilt without removing the crank two and sometimes three times with out the crank egging out unless you spin a bearing do to oil starvation.

there is a difference in the tires sizes and I can't deny that the chassis isn't built differently but I've never seen one broke in two with appropriate attachments! To me they are both about the same as they both use a two range hydro and weigh nearly the same as well as nearly the same horsepower. To me for what you have I'd be buying the 2350 as well as an extra attachment or two with the savings.

No, it is a heater grid in or before the intake manifold that heats the air drawn through it. I believe that old models as well as other manufacturers have used a cold start aid that vaporizes diesel fuel in the intake manifold via an electric heater strip.

Pitt MD; I'm a firm believer in following the owners manual to the letter. Kubota tractor=Kubota oil's and fluids, Deere tractor=Deere oil's and Deere fluids. We had quite a discussion on correct application of non Kubota/Deere/any tractor brand branded filters for their own tractors just a few weeks ago here, I don't remember what the title of the thread was, maybe another member does. I have my regular service done by the dealer now because of a handicap condition that keeps me out from under anything, but always did my own before. There is no better therapy than greasy hands. It's really a matter of sharpening to a degree but the stihl chain holds an edge better then oregon from what we've seen. On high RPM saws the stihl is a better performer and what you should have had Greg is to hold the saw up to keep it from taking to much. ` I don't know the vintage of your Mac but they did have some good saws too!

Every thing that I work with is the non-anti kickback chain and that would make a difference in the way it wil cut.

Randy, we should have installed something like that from the start instead of this POS WaterFurnace ground source heat pump. Unfortunately we don't have any room left in the mechanical room for a setup like that. I'm looking for something to either work with or replace the downstairs fireplace.

Taskmaster tractors have, and as far as I know conitnue to be manufactured by DFAM in China. The prior distributor of Taskmaster tractors did have some EPA problems. A company in Canada did assume the Taskmaster name and continues to import them. There should be no problem with EPA now as there are several EPA compliant engines available. The problems stemed to the TPEM program that allowed limited import of non epa engines under strict guidlines. The TPEM for non EPA compliant engines has expired but there are certian allowances for non compliant engines (ie low quantity) the difference as I understand it is that only the acutal engine manufacturer (not importers as before) can claim an utilize the exemptions. NO matter, as I said many certifed EPA compliant engines are available now. We are importing DFAM tractors under our own brand name "AgTrac" and we can help with parts needs if necessary. Artrac is a joint venture partner and distributor of AgTrac tractors.

I have been repairing and restoring these great little tractors for over 10 years now, and have amassed quite a bit of information on the repair and maintance of these machines.<br>

When looking at buying any of these machines bare in mind that some are approaching near 25 years old. They can be completly worn out. Some machines have over 5000 hours on them and are still serviceable. The average machine seems to have 1100 to 1500 hours on the hour meter.<br>

The engine is the main concern, making sure that they don't burn oil or overheat. Check the oil. It will be black and should feel slick with very little oder with No burnt smell. They will puff out some black smoke at startup but should run clean at an idle and under an average load. A little more power and some ok black smoke will usually happen. Blue smoke will indicate bad rings and maby hard cold starting. They will have quite a noisy rattely sound but No Knocks or loud rattles. They do run a little rough at a low idle with two cylinders a little worse at idle. Now check out the radiator. It should not be leaking or have rotten fins. Inside should be clean antifreeze. Turn the petcock at the lower left side of the engine and see if any anafreeze comes out. If not this tells me that the engine has not been serveced in a long time with no coolant changes and might overheat in the summer. People will change the oil but not the coolant. I have found many things that can be worn out on these machines.<br>

The things that are very hard to repair is frame problems, as in worn or rusted items. The deck hangers should be check out thourghly. The rods that support the front of the orange deck hangers will be hard to repair if they are rusted or worn out. The front PTO idler pulley piviot rod that comes right out of the front axle frame can give lots of trouble it it has not been greased at least yearly. Give it a wiggle and see how much side play it has. Front PTO shaft through the front axel will have much play and steering will be sloppy. This part can be very expensive to repair if not greased once in a while. <br>

Jack up the front end and see where all of the loose slop is. Front King Pins can be worn out. Bushings will fix this. Steering gear will be usually worn out, so be prepaired to replace the steering gear, steering plate, and steering shaft. Front wheel bearings will wear out but cheap to replace. <br>

Most mower decks will be rusted out and in the need of a bearing replacement. Usually 10 or more bearings if all are replaced. I have salvaged some pretty rusty decks. Some welding and plate replacement. Sand blast, ospho and paint. The other usuall replacement items will be belts, filters, and deck rollars. Make sure that all items are complete, The PTO double U joint to the deck is over $400 from Kubota. The rear deck gauge wheels are over $100 each. I hope this helps the first time buyers. Kubota items are not cheap but Kubota has all of the parts to keep these machines running. ;-)

Just heard that the steiner 230 model is being discontinued and they do not know how long they will stock parts for the ones in the field. They said they were loosing money on each one they made. Good luck if you own one.<br>

The BH 75 does hook to two lines that connect to the hydralic system. It is a great system that doesn't hinder the ground clearance of the tractor at all. If you do need a skid steer style disconnect for the loader they are available thru ATI.
