Thanks for the input, you make some very sound points. I have noticed the price jump from the 40hp range to the 50hp range. The compact size of the L2800 has been a plus up to this point. Thanks again,

I have an E2304. The 3pt. Lifts work great. I put on a Koyker 120 Loader Bucket. The Loader works fine but now the lifts will only go UP and not back down.<br>
I have a manual from Shaffer, but does not reference anything.<br>
suggestions?

If you have a foot operated pedal for the auxillary line, it may be a one-way only flow setup.

Things like breakers don't need flow in both directions, and some of them can actually be harmed by trying to put fluid to them the wrong way around.

You say the actuator pedal "seems incomplete"? What exactly doesn't seem right with it? Bear in mind, no circuit will operate correctly with the lines blocked by the quick disconnect fittings.

If it's possible you need to find out from the place you bought it from how it is plumbed. Rental yards are notorious for 'customizing' things so you rent their attachement instead of using your own. Even if you bought your machine at auction, if you go back to the prior owner most will happily give you any information they have as to the history of the machine, no rental house wants to be known for not maintaining their equipment well. Most will brag about it.

The simplest way to do it will likely be to bypass the existing setup and use an electrically-activated circuit splitter. You put a switch on one of the joysticks, and when you push or pull the knob on the switch it diverts the fluid flow from say the curl circuit to the thumb.

If you are not familiar with operating a thumb-equipped machine, you should be very cautious, doing something like curling the bucket in, while simultaneously pulling the thumb in may create way too much clamping pressure and result in something getting bent if not broken!!

Frank, just remember that good ventilatis the key.

If you are going to leave the ceiling open, make sure however does the roof for you (you stay off ladders for now!!) installs the continous venting peak strips, and lots of ventilation under the eaves. A few vents at ground level, provided they're 'critter-proof' wouldn't hurt any either.

If you plan on putting up some form of wall treatment like panneling or something, be sure to leave some vent areas at both ground level and at the top plate. Trapped air in a wall like that will make it smell musty if nothing else.

Also, when you put it together be sure to include a door to the outside directly from the breezeway if it's to be built in an area that is used lots, two doors (one in each side) if it will cut off a route used very much. Going all the way around stops being fun real fast.

The MF1030 was one of the "new" MF's, a re-branded Japanese import from the mid 80's.

The reason you likely won't find much info. on them was the way they were sold, they were pitched almost exclusively to the existing MF customers through the existing dealer network, there was little money spent on advertising them since nobody (MF or their dealers) was very confident they were going to be able to sell very many of them, or for how long they would sell and/or support them.

As it turned out, they were a pretty good little machine. I had several of them in the fleet in the early years of the company. The 1030 was about a 20hp model.

My wife told me an interesting story on a new job. Woman got the job of her dreams, working from home. New company would send her items to ship, she packed and shipped, got first paycheck in 2 weeks. worked next 2 weeks, had CIA knock on the door. Seems she was packing and shipping stolen merchandise. She had no idea. Was sick because of the "perfect" job for her from home. Oh yeah, the 2nd paycheck bounced. Just makes you wonder. Beware when giving personal info to new employer over phone, latest scam is hiring people, you find job in paper, you give name, address, social number and it turns out they are bogus, now they have all your info for credit card scams. I would suggest checking out any and all company's before you give all your info. Oh yeah, some even asked and were provided with bank account numbers for "direct deposit" for paychecks. Beware one and all. Unfortunately we, you, me, have to really check before we provide that info. Like better business bureau and as many sources as you can think of.

Ken/Frank I lucked out on this gen it is a 30k. They did not have a 20k in stock.

So I ended up with a lot more gen than I have tractor enough to run. Reserve is always good.

Shut it down at 11:45 last night. It's right at 32F house holds heat ok and wood stove shut down to bare minimun because no fans to move air. Still no power at 5am. So back on gen at 5:30. Power suspose to be back on by noon. Only 103 customers affected, on this line.

Yard is a mess tree on top of big satellite dish, 15' of a tree top just missed my car, thats just what I can see from house with yard lights on this morning.

The L-4400 is a good working unit and they have a good performance record.

A used L-35 low hours are normally under the 30,000 mark.

It's hard to cover everything in a post but,

Take the litte/small wire off the starter solenoid and make sure it is not touching anything and see if it will blow the fuse then.

If it does ... odds are ingition switch is bad.

If it blows only with the wire connected to the solenoid then odds are the solenoid is bad.

Also, the small wire off the solenoid could be contacting ground ?

Around here the going price for labor only is $2.50-$3.50 (sometimes more) based on total surface area---roof and sides (NOT sq. footage of the floor). No dirt work, concrete, electrical, permits, etc.

I charged $2 a sq.ft surface for an 18x32 with 12/12 pitch and a 10x32 lean-to. Will never do that again--way too cheap. Built it by myself over the course of a month in the hottest and most humid summer in years. About killed me. After that I bought a 40' manlift and now I'm spoiled---what is a "ladder" for anyway? LOL
