Hi guys, I am new here and looking for some advice. I am looking at a 2001 TC 40,16 LA loader, 72" deck, 540 pto, Hydro 2200 hours. I am looking for a ball park price here. I nhave never bougt a tractor of this size so its all new to me. I will use the tractor for cutting and light landscaping,moving dirt ETC... nothing commercial just around my home. The local dealer has it listed for $16,800. That's the asking. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Ontario I'm across the river from you. I was asked to dig with my medium sized backhoe and will never do it again. I ened up ripping out the entire bottom end of the dipper stick pivot mount trying to help a neighbor ($400 fix and made $200 whoppeee!). It's more than just making a starting hole. Every bit of work goes into breaking apart the frost--which is like trying to break concrete--in fact concrete is easier; at least the concrete slab will eventually end. Frost is everywhere. If you MUST dig, get a frost tooth (a single blade or tooth that replaces the bucket. Use that to rip the frost. But again it will be like concrete. A big backhoe may not have any problems, but if the relief valve comes on while digging--- give it up. It will be warm in a few (weeks? months? :))

You're way down on a very long list of guys who wish there were proper shop manuals for these tractors. Consider yourself lucky to have any kind of manual in English. The best you're going to come up with (on paper) is the operator/maintenance manual for the engine. Several of the engines (not all) have parts manuals in English as well. The exploded diagrams come in handy for troubleshooting.

I have a 395 in my KM454, but I don't think it's from the same manufacturer as yours. Could you post here the information that's on the engine plate please?

I currently have a Kubota BX2350 and am going to trade it in for a bigger tractor. After all the snow this winter, the BX proved to be to small for me. I am looking at a JD 3320 4X4 with Hydro trans, R4 tires, 4 wheel weights, 300X Loader, 73" loader bucket, 72 " Bush Hog Box scraper, and 72" Bushhog rotary cutter. After talking to multiple JD dealers the best price I have got is $22,500 with no trade. Does anyone know if this is an OK deal?<br>

My B7200 has a serious hydraulic problem. It started with the FEL lifting real slow. When I throttled up it would lift a little faster. Now it has stopped working all together. I pulled and cleaned the strainer which did not help.Fluid level is normal. Could my pump be bad ? Any Ideas, I need to use the tractor this weekend to move railroad ties around. Thanks guys. PS, it is a manual shift tractor

I was able to get rings from Hastings mfg. I had to machine the top ring groove a little, to take the taper out. I reused my old head gasket :( Gotta love that permatex spray copper. Tractor is running great now :)

tjogle; I forgot to tell you how long I've had the hoe. I had it at least a couple years on the 4300 that I traded in on the 4310. Frank.

I had a hub like that once. I finally used the torch & cut a slot in it. I still had to use a puller to remove it. I reinstalled it after replacing the bearing & seal, put some sand on the shaft, & welded it back together. It worked fine.

They are both so close to new I'd look at the financing options. Where we are in central NY you need a blower so you only have to move the snow once but I know there are areas that don't get 200 plus inches a year of snow. You could go with a three point hitch blower depending on your driveway and still retain the loader on the front. It does get old fast with cranking your neck looking back if you have a lot of curves and things to move snow around.

I use to have a NH TC35 with R4's and plowed gardens in the spring with a 2-16 for several years, so I don't see why a 30hp would have problems with a 2-12

I test drove a 3940 without a cab, seems like a real nice machine. I am supposed to see the cab model this week and have a tentative deal to buy it. I really like some of the new features and plan on an FEL & snow blower. It will be BIG step up from my old Case 430 diesel !!!

I really like my X595 a lot. My question is: I want to cut with a rotary cutter (bush hog) and was thinking of having a 3pt hitch and power take off added to the tractor. The cost for the rear eand is about $1,200 plus a cutter. I would thinka 4' would be ok. Has anyone had experience with the rear pto and or with a cutter?

Because of delivery timing issues, they couldn't give me enough machines at once, part of my fleet is equipped with factory cabs, and part with aftermarket cabs.

None of the cabs are showing any signs of rust after plowing snow and salting on municipal sidewalks commercially.

To be fair though, the fleet is also professionally pressure-washed after each snow fall, and sprayed with a rust inhibitor each spring and fall.

IMHO, longevity and durabilty have more to do with care and maintenance than anything else. As the old saying goes, "Ignore something and it will go away.". ;)

First off, 20 acres is quite a bit of ground to clean up.

Depending on the type of ground it is, and what your end goal is, the method we use for clearing prior to hydro-seeding may be your best option. Get a 3pth like the old Case 100 series side delivery rakes, there's lots of them around, and go up and down moving all the twigs into rows. Then either break the rows into piles, or burn them just the way they are. When the fire is out, you can just turn the ash and any unburnt bits into the soil and go from there.

You can also use a landscape rake, or even a grapple on the FEL as suggested, but the grapple will be a really spendy method, the landscape rack will cost about the same as an old hay rake, but will be useable for other things later, but will also take a LOT longer to do this job.

The 2630 is one of the larger chassis B-series I'd recommend for the job. The B-7800 is the basic tractor in the group with the 3030 being the largest.
