I agree with Art, at 117 hours trading is going to burn up a bunch of money for little (IMHO) benefit.

To put it in perspective, my units often do 60 hours in a week, so your tractor has (from my point of view) only 2 weeks use on it.

As for the cab, we never even took them off in the summer in the pre-A/C days, all we did was take the doors and the windows that opened off the machine during the warm weather. The little impact the remaining parts of the cab had on ventilation were almost always more than offset by the fact you were in the shade of the roof.

I was toying with the idea of putting in a small bee spot in the corner of my farm. It being rowcrop farmland will probably not work out. The pesticides will kill them and there isn't that much clover, etc. in the area. It borders on two wooded areas while my pear trees would also help. I was going to do it more for toying around rather than harvesting honey. I go to a local orchard that has a country store with baked goods, honey,etc.

Agreed, 50 hr svc is important, personally I'd buy the fluids and filters from the dealer, keep the receipts and do the job myself and save the labor, which it 60% of dealer estimates, receipts prove up if warranty issue comes up in the future.

The lower priced Cadet's are often bought because of the payment not the payback. The 2500 has been a good unit and has not been a regular in the shop. The lower priced 1000's had some issues with drives and when corrected have also been a good unit so far but they will still never be a tractor in any sence of imagination. They do a good job of mowing the lawn as they were intended to but not as a utility tractor like the heavier built 2500 series.

The 3120 comes with a 91 ci. 3TNV82A Yanmar and the 3320 comes with the 100 ci 3TNV88 Yanmar engine which is virtually the same as came in my 4410 which came with the 3TNE88 engine. The power increase is in the 10% range difference. In my opinion, the key here is that both engines are naturally aspirated. The 3120 will likely do just about all the 3320 can for the most part and when measured against cost between the two, the 3120 in my opinion would be the better bargain.

Were the decision mine; and considering the validity of a step up in power, I would be looking at the 3520 or 3720. Both of these models come with turbo charged 3TNV84T at 37 hp & about 30 pto hp, and 3TNVHT toping out at 44 hp with about 35 pto hp.

35 to 45 pto hp is generally the sweet spot for pto equipment and hp to drive it. The turbo will ensure you get specified hp no matter the temp or pressure altitude. the naturally aspirated engines will continually loose hp as pressure altitude increases. Whether or not you need or will use this much hp depends upon the uses you have in mind. The 3720 come only with eHydro. The other offer a choice of 12/12 ePowerReverser or eHydro. I have the eHydro and it has performed well and really speeds up mowing and bush hogging as you can reverse direction without stopping to clutch and shift. HOWEVER I still have my doubts or reservations about how well all of the electronic bells and whistles will hold up over time.......say 20 years which is a very conservative figure for a tractor life time. So far everything works but I have only 350 hours on the tractors. Will it be the same store at 3,350 hours?????? I sure hope so. Any future tractors I purchase will be much more basic and designed for lasting reliability but that will likely be an ag tractor. I am currently borrowing a John Deere 4040 which although kinda rough around the edges from age and use still pulls a 15 ft. bat wing rotary cutter just fine.

Perhaps you could expand upon the uses you will put the tractor to. I have NO doubt you will find ANY of the 3000 series machines a joy to own and operate. Just be sure to match the right tool to the task and leave youself some fudge factor.

I have sentimental feelings toward both of my country properties. The barn and farmhouse were purchased by my father from an aunt and uncle on my 10th birthday. It has 40 acres surrounding it that I won't ever sell. The other house is about a mile away and is on 1 3/4 acres and was built in 1969/70. That is the only piece left from the farm that has been in our family 150 years this year. An old shed remains with hinges dating back to 1903. So I know it is old. Still have out houses at both places.

Kubota picked up the tab, under warranty 3 years on motor and trans I had 2 months left on my warranty. I got lucky the pump is big bucks. If yours makes that chattering sound when you press on the hydro peddle and you know it does not sound right must likely it�s the pump. Good luck.

Set the tiller shallow so it only tills about four inches deep. Then hit it again later or on a dry day and the dirt should seperate out nicely from the roots holding back the growth if you till it a couple of times like this to dry out the old plants roots.

Thanks for the response, the dealer originally said there was no code long, short, long, short but after checking some other sources he found that there was indeed a code like this. His discription matched yours to a T. Looks like I will need to take a look at the switch or remember to have it checked when I take it in next time.

There is also one other factor you may need to consider and that is insurance on the building. The wooden frame building was more expensive here for property insurance than a metal frame. Have no idea if it would affect the tax basis for the building. If based upon square footage only might not but if based upon construction cost probably would. kt

We get to see a lot of variation of uses and there are a lot of different strings available not only in diameter but with different shapes. I'd think that with just one string breaking it would have to be grabing something. Is it breaking on one job or the other? Fences often would do what you are describing, when operating near stones or sollid objects it is best to lower the rpm which will help the string life and possibly keep it from grabbing.
