Can anyone tell me how to tell how old an Mccormick Farm-All Cub is. International Harvester is also on the old sticker, I pulled it out of barn suppose to be about 50 06 60 years old.Red, 4 Cyl,Shift on left of seat, <br>

I have a B3030 and pull a 2x14" plow with it in sandy ground. It pulls it OK in the sand. Clay would be another story I think. Your B7800 should pull a 2x12" no problem in most conditions. Since the B7800 does not have position control I think you will need a gauge wheel on the plow to control the depth. Good luck.

For planting a garden, I use a homemade device that looks basically like a "T"-frame. I manually pull it through the garden. It is constructed of 1 1/4" schedule 40 pipe. Another T is welded on the long leg (about 4-5 foot long) of the T frame to form a handle that is about a foot wide (1" schedule 40). On the upper cross bar of the "T" on one side a smaller pipe fits inside another (1" schedule 40). Several holes and a cross bolt go thru this. At the ends of this cross bar another pipe goes downward about a foot and on each end is a small cultivator shovel about 2 1/2" wide. With each pull as you manually drag it through the garden you get 2 scratches. I get the first row straight. Then by going over one of the original scratches, you get a single parallel row with each pass. Using the telescopic style frame allows you versatility in planting, like 26", 36" or 48" row spacings. I vary the width depending upon the spread of the bush. Onions usually 26", corn 36", squash, pickles & melons, etc. 48" or more.

Remember when planting, you do not want to plant your seeds too deep! To cover them back up, I use the back side of a heavy duty landscraping rake to lightly cover them without packing.

If you are planting potatoes, they will need to be deeper. You can purchase a single point subsoiler from TSC or any farm retail store outlet for under $100.00.

It is also possible something has caused it to freeze. Such as fertlizer from a spreader. Have had that happen. In my case, lubericating and slow working it finally freed it. kt

The amount a rear mounted 3 point hitch blade will cut into any dirt will vary with how hard the dirt is but also the weight of the blade and the angle it is set at. A heavy blade set at an angle will cut into dirt that a lighter blade set straght will just slide over. Look at how motor graders set their blades on hard packed dirt roads. A landscape rake will level even dirt and move more of it than you would think. If you have roots or stumps of size, move slow with a blade.

I was wondering if a Kubota L 2800 hst would have any problems handleing a backhoe.I have a 250 ac tree farm in So Ind.It has cabin,out buldings,2ac pond,bridge over creek,and 1/2 mi driveway to maintain.Due to hilly land I have some washout problems.Would I find a back hoe as useful as I have found the FEL to be?

You're right, IMHO, you don't want to tackle anything more than bare minimum with that little power, a blower really eats up horsepower fast.

The simplest way to reduce the amount of power needed is to merely encounter the snow slower, not reduce the cut width. I don't know if your TC30 is hydro. or gear, but in either case, with the engine turning full PTO-speed, creep into the snow at as slow a speed as you can manage, if the blower lugs the engine down, slip it in neutral, or let off the pedal for a second to let it clear the build up of snow.

In an idle situation, and I know it's impossible to tell from the operator's position, there should be just a slight pile of snow in front of the cross auger and it should neither be growing or shrinking in size. Any faster and you're wasting power bulldozing snow, any slower and your not feeding the auger a 'full load' of snow and again wasting power.

I usually tell new snow blower operators to slowly increase their speed until EITHER they see snow spilling out to the sides, OR they hear the engine lugging down from the load. In either case, slow down until it goes away, you are then running at near peak efficiency for that setup.

If you have a big dump of dry snow, you can always raise the blower up, and take two passes at it, but in wet heavy stuff that often leads to a layer of hard pack left behind.

Thanks to everyone for the very good insight and advice. What I was planning on doing was ploting one or two strips mayby 100 yards long by 50 yards wide. I was hopeing to brush hog and then till. I'm glad I talked to you guys, as the testimonies of buyers of the disc's say that the lite discs just ate up the virgin ground, "no problem" got love em!

Roadmaster98; When you speak of the anglw iron the teeth are attached to do you mean the main horizontal crossmember that all the teeth are attached to? If this is the case take it to a blacksmith shop or someone with a torch who can heat it enough to bend it back into shape, it is made of common mild steel and will straighten easily with some heat and likely be fine. The teeth on the other hand are spring steel like the leaf spring on a car, if you heat it enough to bend it back you will destroy the temper in the steel, then when the tooth catches something it will just bend and stay bent. Your dealer can get replacement teeth for the ones you bent. Best of luck. Frank.

After the latest 8" snowfall, I found that my B7800 with R4s had absolutely no traction on packed snow. None at all; that stuff was slicker than greased penguin poop. Parked it at the bottom of the hill and left it there until the snow softened enough that the tires could bite through to the dirt/gravel road beneath.

Bought a set of chains from tirechains.com. Rears fit OK, but there was insufficient clearance between the inside sidewall of the front tires and the tie rod arms; clearance is only 5/8", while chain links are 3/4". Am now searching for a source for 3/4" wheel spacers to give me that needed clearance. Without chains on those front tires, I have no steering at all on packed snow, split brakes or not, filled tires or not, ballast or not. Which is critical for my survival during power outages, as I have to move my generator cart 600' back and forth between my two electric service entrances, for well pump and residence.

To chain or to not chain that is the question

If bouncing around is an issue, what kind of tires do you have on the machine? R4s are incredibly stiff riding tires. Some folks have put automotive radials on smaller machines to smooth out the ride, but turfs would certainly be an improvement over R4s.

I backed into a tree with my new 6ft rake.It bent 5 tines and twisted the angle iron thay are atched to.Does anybody have any ideals on the best way to bend it back it workable shape.Thanks for any help.

The best shooting 22 I ever shot was a Winchester pump. Henry was making a copy of it. I have a tube feed Winchester auto that has been good for me. The auto has only shot long rifles, have no idea on longs or shorts. Don't think shorts would work in it. You have not mentioned it but assume you are shooting right handed. I don't, for that reason do not like most of the auto 22's even the one I have. Depending on where you are shooting, I like guns that eject down. Shame is where I live shooint such is dangerous.
