8x56mn; I don't know what kind of grass is in your pasture, but a tiller will do nothing but plug with roots and whatever is growing on top now, the little disc just isn't heavy enough to do much either. My suggestion would be to first spray the sod with Roundup after spring new growth gets a few inches high, then wait at least two weeks till the roots and all are dead, then if you have a farmer nearby with a mouldboard plow hire him to plow it then your tiller will work. I don't know how many acres you are proposing to till up, but more than two or three acres with a tiller is a BIG job. let the neighbor plow it then the little disc will penetrate well enough to have it ready to plant. Before you buy the tiller see if you can rent it for a day, I think you will be dissapointed in how little you can really get done in acres with a non commercial size tiller. Been there, done this. I had the same problem when I had my snowthrower put on. I just adjusted the linkage (just below the pedals) to put more to reverse. It is just two bolts to loosen and adjust.

I have a YM 2210BD and I am getting an oil pressure light on. I put another sending unit in, but I am still getting a light. When I installed an actually pressure gauge in the block, the pressure read 80 PSI. I suppose I could have gotten another bad sending unit, but what should the pressure read on the gauge.

As Hetteric stated, coyotes are quick to learn where the food is. If they have been pilfering from your neighbourhood, it wouldn't be long before they tolerate humans.

There's a good-sized pack of coyotes that live in a ravine on the fringe of a small town near here. I've had the contract to bush-hog the fields between it and the big town park / sports complex for years, ever since a coyote snatched a little pet dog a number of years back while the owner watched in horror. At first the coyotes were pretty wary of the equipment and stayed well back. But by the end of the first season they were pacing along watching for anthing flushed or killed by the equipment.

It's gotten bad enough now that we don't put anything but cab-equipped machines out on that job now, and usually 2 at a time so if you have to get out to clear something you have someone to watch your back.

We've offered to 'carry' and pop a few, but so far they are unwilling to do that. They figure as long as the overgrowth is kept down, and they have no cover, they will stay back a safe distance.

While I do not advise discharging a firearm in a built up area, you can use the coyotes brazen attitude to your advantage. Load up a piece of meat with a healthy dose of poison, and keep it in a zip-lock baggie somewhere handy, it won't go bad this time of year. When you see him next, toss him a little 'treat'. ;)

The problem is not the lift capacity, there's enough there to pick a bit of a load, the problem is the arms are not designed to CARRY a load, the are not braced for it, and the hydraulics are not in the right geometry for it either.

In fact, I seem to remember something in the owner's manual in the form of a caution not to even travel with the deck in the air unless necessary, and then only for as brief a period as necessary. This may have more to do with counter-balance issues too though. I do know with the deck in the air, hitting a bit of a bump or stomping on the brakes will get the back end pretty light pretty fast.

If you read the first couple of lines of Erskine's website that you linked to they say "Founded in 1948, Erskine was one of the first companies to make rotary snow blowers. The first Erskine snowblowers, commonly known as pull types or v-plows, were made to fit on the rear of tractors and pulled through the snow."

So there you have it, they've been around for some 60 years now.

I hear what you're saying about the weight helping, but I've used them, we have had a few over the years on our farms, and several of our neighbours have them too, if they were the solution, everyone would have one.

I would also point out though, that the Erskine website, and most others for that matter, show a 6'ish foot blower as needing 30 minimum PTO horsepower. To say that's optimistic is an understatement.

I run a 5' blower on my L4310 (45 engine hp, 36 PTO horsepower) the odd time clearing drifts on the private road to my summer place. I can tell you, I don't think it would spin a 6 footer, it REALLY groans with just 5', another 20% would be more than it could handle.

At our farm we have a 7' double auger on a 100 hp 4X4 articualted machine, and you can still feel it lugging the engine down in heavy stuff.

IMHO, you would need a light touch and at LEAST 50 PTO hp to even consider one of those, especially up there.

Any of you checked out the Erskine 3 point mount PULL (not push) behind snowblower? I'm considering that option over a front mount snowblower because I would like to keep my FEL! Maybe the only problem would be driving over real deep snow, I guess that could be alleviated by lowering the FEL and shaving some snow off!

If I remember correctly there is no shifter between your knees on the 3130 manual transmission.<br>
The shifter for the manual (FST) transmission on the 3130 should be up along side the operators seat, with High/low range and 4 gears in each range.

Thanks all, I 'm going to look at a few B-21 on Tues. The going price in Ontario seems to be $ 18000.00 to $25000.00 Cdn, and they are pretty rare. Looks like this machines would have enough power to do what I need. My plan was to use and sell but I may get hooked and keep it for many years. Thanks again for your help. I own a Kubota B7800 (30 Hp compact) and am thinking of buying a 12" - 2 bottom moldboard plow to work on foodplots. The manual specifies this as the largest plow to use with this tractor. Does anyone have any experience plowing with this tractor?
