Never heard of a S713. you are correct it should have a S723. I also haven't heard of a Stallion loader. Is this a "reconditioned" tractor? If it is, it probably is an Asian built loader.

Thought this may be helpful. I went into the CHP (Calif Hghway Patrol) and spoke with an officer about transporting my CUT and implements. I showed him (via a sketch) what I was doing and he said I was OK, and confirmed that a 4-POINT tiedown is required. This means four chains and four binders, each to the frame (or equiv) of the tractor. He also liked the idea of web straps across the loader and the LX5.<br>

One long chain, hooked to the trailer on one side, wrapped thru the tractor (around frame or axle) and hooked to the other side of the trailer with a load binder is NOT a two point tiedown. It's a one point, so I am told. This makes sense because if you loose one of the chain points at the trailer, you loose the integrity of the whole chain.<br>

I see some scarry stuff out on the highway, like forklifts tied down with one chain wrapped around one axle, or thru the forklift. One snafu and that lift is bouncy into someone's windsheild.<br>

I am rebuilding a Yanmar 1500. I am being told that there is not a service manual available for this tractor and my efforts to find one are proving this to be true. The closest thing I have is a manual for YM 195. It appears to be basically the same style of engine as the 2TR15 in my 1500 but obviously sizes of parts are larger. I am going to have the head surfaced and new valves and guides put in it. My machinist asked for recommended specs on doing the valve job. Does anyone have any info on this or know where I might find it?<br>

Are you still a yanmar parts dealer? I am looking for a detailed manual to service the 226D engine and body. I especially am looking for the seal in the front gear box right behind the front wheel. Secondly the front of my driveshaft where it joints the differential has a smaller leak. Is there a bearing and seal for this as well?? Thanks.

Dennis - you just have to try the sandwich. That's how it happened with me -- my wife stuck this sandwich in my face and said TRY IT. I was totally skeptical, but won over immediately. I think of it as an energy sandwich. I am not a vegetarian at all. I just watch what kinds/cuts of meat, fish and poultry I eat. Almost no red meat tho, except a good fillet and buffalo, no and then. Yeah, I think the key is getting rid of baked goods (mostly) and starchy stuff. I don't miss them much. Good luck.

I've got a TC33D. I know when the weather is cold the hydraulic system makes a screaming sound until it warms up. The screaming front end sound may not be coming from the gear reduction (aka steering knuckles). And yes the second tierod (arm) is part of SuperSteer.

I didn't quite understand your description of the dip stick but if you were talking about the front axle the filler plug on mine is a bright yellow, plastic threaded finger-tighten plug on top of the axle (on the right side I think). (I've been told you and I have slightly different front axles--yours is slightly stronger)

If it's a dry bearing sound, and I had to guess, I would say the sound may be coming from the front drive shaft where it goes through the Selectrac clutch assembly and/or the front drive shaft where it goes into the axle pinion. Might even be a dry u-joint in that area.

If I were you, jack it up off all four wheels. Let it set over night. Start it up and let it run all four wheels at the same ground speed you experienced noise. Turn the wheels side to side and see if that does anything. If you don't have a mechanic's stethescope, a length of garden hose with one end held to your ear and the other on the suspect part will do.

All four wheels may not spin at the same time; if they don't, place the 4x4 selector in "lock".

These tractors have wiring harnesses that run underneath and the wires have been known to hang a bit too low. They can then get caught and ripped loose. If you crawl underneath and give all the wiring and connections a good inspection you might find the problem.

Grizz---if that's all you're trying to do is mount a blower then might I suggest making some lower arms out of 2x2 angle? Use some 1/4" chain at an angle to keep the arms from swaying--allowing for the PTO shaft.
A 7/8" and drill for the pivot ends are all you really need----shoot, you could even torch-cut the holes if need be. The top link could be purchased or make from angle, or tubing. It's not rocket science---even Kenny can hook his up, well that is, if had snow where he lives.

If you followed the web link I provided Art, you'd have seen it ain't me saying it - it's Castrol. I never use the stuff myself, just thought I'd post it before some one who actually uses Castrol started crying foul.<br>

I have been in to my John Deere dealer and ther are not very helpful. They want the specific part number for the seal, which I do not have. And even then they are not confident they will be able to help. They say the 226D does not show up on their records.

Just another small point as far as the three point hitches, Kubota has raised there hitch so it will accept the many of the cat 1 attachments so some money can be saved on the cat 0-1 that is nearly a must on most subcompacts. RR I'm sorry the Kubota dealer didn't work out for you.

Bill, don't stop to soon, allow the engine to build up a good cranking speed and hold it on for a bit, you will notice it start to pick up and that's when to let it have the compression back. You might have to do it a couple of times to work but if you get it up to high enough speed it should start.

Some parts are the same as the american counterparts as long as you find a dealer with the patience to help you. I know I've been caught up with them and sometimes we've had good luck and sometimes not.

Boy aren't the labor prices up there! But in the dealer's defense, the new cars are being sent out the door at cost most of the time. Some of the used stuff they can make a buck on if they don't wholesale them. They need to make a buck to stay in business and I want them there for when my truck is in need.

I only wish we could afford all of that seafood every day. We do partake most regularly though.

Speaking of sausage, we have a couple of great German sausage shops near us. Even the pepperoni is homemade. Since the wife is mostly Kraut, we have our share of it too!
