What is so expensive is the labor. Parts (after market) alone for a complete front brake job might be around $90 - $120. Including new pad and rotors. Rear disk brakes with internal parking shoes roughly $120 - $190 for every thing pads, shoes and rotors. Not really too bad. Add $80 to $110 an hour labor and factory parts your are up a creak.

Personally I switched to ceramic pads. No nasty dust and they run cooler thus keeping brake fad from heat to a minimum. They also last a lot longer. In fact I replace the vehicle before the pads. They are a little harder on the rotors than semi metallic but nothing to worry to much about.

The API ratings are forward compatible only. That is, if your diesel owner's manual specifies CD (like my '85 Mercedes turbo diesel), that means I can use CD-/CE-/CF-/CG-/CG-/CH- and any that follow in the alphabet. Don't go the other direction though, I leave any old stock of CA-/CB-/CC- on the store shelf.<br>

Except for folks that use Castrol that is. They assign dual designators (like SH/CD), claiming that it performs equally well in gasoline or diesel engines .<br>

The other thing I didn't mention (yes, that I've done) is dumping the trailer with the FEL, and not having it positioned so that the trailer doesn't come rolling into the (thank God it was protected) radiator grille after it's unloaded. DOH!

And if you like "Honey, Look What the Rankee Did NOW" stories, last week using the skid steer and pallet forks I was removing 4,000 sqft of home slab/foundation which was all that Katrina left off the beach. I was lifting under a room addition slab approx. 12'x12' with footers when I got just about nearly-vertical and was attempting to push it over. Welp...the loader got buried trying to go forward trying to push it, and in the process my left brain wasn't speaking to my right hand at the time, so instead of lowering the loader I raised it and the forks slipped off the concrete slab. Just then--- simultaneously--- I screamed like a little girl 'cuz it was gonna be lites-out as the pad weighed about 12,000 lbs.--and, my right brain had enough sense (or maybe self-preservation??) to tell both hands to pull back on the controls an' git me the heck outta there. But it didn't happen quite quickly enough. The concrete came crashing down and caught the edge of the cab ROPS and hit the front tire---and I pooped my pants WHILE taking a chunk of foam out of the seat. So after I got the cab aired out and the seat fixed,(haha) I tried the whole exercise over again a few more times---but just a little bit wiser--and fully awake and got-r-did.

I started on LA Weight loss in Sept of 05. No exercise but followed the plan. In Nov. of 06 I reached my goal weight of 220, down from 294. This is what I weighed as a senior in high school. I'm now at 218 and eating an entirely different way. Once or twice a month I can go off the wagon and eat pizza or pasta or whatever but the rest of the time it's definitely a lifestyle change that keeps me on the straight and narrow.

You didn't say what your driveway wasas to if it was blacktop but I've seen it often where turfs would be better without chains for traction. The Cadets have always had good traction compared to other makes for climbing.

I only wish we could afford all of that seafood every day. We do partake most regularly though.

Speaking of sausage, we have a couple of great German sausage shops near us. Even the pepperoni is homemade. Since the wife is mostly Kraut, we have our share of it too!

Foton was futian and is now Lovol. That is the brand, the same tractor is made by other factories, with different hoods (in some cases same hoods) but they don't call the Fotons.

Thanks for that Norton Removal link. I was pretty sure I had gotten rid of the Norton stuff, but its nice to have a double check.

I am going to continue using the NOD32 until the trial expires then I think I'll try BitDefender.

So far the NOD32 is working nicely, it caught a virus in an email I received and notifed via a dialog box and also right in the subject line in Thunderbird. NOD32 also gets updates during the day and marks all my emails with a footer that tells me it has scanned them, nice.

Why not just buy them at your local farm dealer?

Yanmar is a lot more common a tractor than you think, in fact a lot of the 'popular brand' compacts the last few years were made by Yanmar.

Most Ag. dealers also have access to aftermarket parts suppliers who not only have thge seals you're looking for, but lots of other spares as well. Most catalogues have a cross-reference included, chances are a 226 was also sold as a John Deere, Cub Cadet, etc., model as well.

I would be suspicious except that he is not offering ANY type of delivery. Only local pick up. And also that he wants people to come look at the unit. Sounds legit to me. Remember not every one has the Internet and the tractor may very well be posted locally too. Call the guy up or e-mail him and start a dialog before you jump the gun.

Thank you all for your inputs and updates, to bring you all up todate. After finding out what the temp range was of the electronic sensor, i decided that did run hotter than what I was expecting to see, and that 230 F was possibly normal for this tractor. now the the temp sets on 230 F when im working (medium load to heavy at time) and stays there. I never hear the water boiling or any indication that it is overheating. I was never able to find anyone that really knew what the normal operating temp should be :-( so I guess that until someone finds out for sure, I will have to consider 230F as normal.

I had this problem the first time I installed it. When it was new, it had no markings. I should have marked them whne disassembling it, but forgot in the rush. I had the valve that stays with the tractor. I need some advice on which hose goes to which line.

Murf you are correct with the jack-knife. I'm ah thinkin no tighter than the turns on the head lands of a field.

I'm beginning to like the hydraulic/hydrostatic drive thought.

Should not add to much to the cost. However you know me. I'll wait a year or 2 for the right deal. Woodspliter a prime example.

We use lots of hyd/hydro drives here...

I bought my TC45D used with 100 hours on it. I paid about the same as a brand new tractor, EXCEPT that I got a 6' finish mower, 3PH log splitter, hydraulic dump wagon, rear blade, and a landscape rake included in the deal.
200 hours is nothing on one of these machines if they are taken care of. Save the $$ for attachments. I'll take the loader if you don't want it! :)

The new Tractors have a factory cab. I stopped in the other day and sat in one and I really like the way it is layed out. Very good viewing area. And I saw (off subject) that they have a new loader as well. They claim that you can be off of 90 degrees and it will guide it self in.

Has Anyone purchased or built a cab for TC35

I may not understand the problem, but it seems that you have two many deer. You have 50 acres, a back hoe, FEl and those nanny goats make good Fertilizer for the garden you want. I have deer all over my place they dine on the rye grass. I have a garden “vegetable” raised bed no fence for some reason they stay away. I dont hunt deer, I am more birds and such, but deer taste good with the vegetables from the garden. I will defend myself.
