The New Holland, CaseIH tractors have a comfort cab that is very reaeasonable to buy although it is not very weather tight it will stop some of the breeze. They sell for under 1,000 which is a good starter price.

Has Anyone purchased or built a cab for TC35

The thread's theme highlights a problem that I have had with PC antivirus application. Here's a question that I have been wanting or needing to know for some time; a question for the experts.

I bought my first PC about 6 months ago from Dell. My background has been with VAXs and Unix-based machines for quite some years at work, and Apple Macs since the first one out in early '84 with Apple IIs and 8-bit single-board computers prior to that. So, my entry into the PC world was quite resistant. Looking back now, I should have bought another Mac. But, here we are with the PC today.

When I bought the Dell, I got McAfee installed on it as part of the bundle (Norton too I think). I have a great big headache around this application. It seems to be screwed down so tight that my son cannot go to the sites that he needs to (he's studying Japanese through the University of Alabama). Every day, and sometimes multiple times a day, I have to "unlock" or get McAfee into "unprotected" so that he can access the sites that he needs to go to. I have looked into getting McAfee less restrictive while still allowing some level of protection (something that I have not really had to worry about in the Mac realm). After six months of messing with it, I have about had it with the thing.

I have read the thread here about BitDefender and SpySweeper, and then looked at the reviews. Would it be in my best interest to can McAfee and I believe Norton too, and just go with BitDefender and SpySweeper?

There hasn't needed to be copyright/patent protection because everything was government owned! The government still owns the majority of the factories, at least in part.

I thought the Foton only came from one company, though... Foton Heavy Industries (Lovol).

reason, you know this but if you jack up the rear to change tires from one side to the other, be sure you use two sets of jacks and blocks. If not you could get in big trouble with the pivoting front axle. Been there, done that. Thank the Lord it only resulted in small dent in fender.

I've had my 4310 kick out an error code for PTO issue before. So hopefully his will. Fortunately, it was a user error issue. I just needed to shut off and restart the tractor to reset the system.

There is nothing quite like a project. Nothing is locked in stone.

Expect to use lots of gas and rod, coggering it together.

If it works great. If it does not we'll cogger at it till it does.

I like the idea of the overruning hubs/clutch. Will ponder on that some more.

Jeff, we've done these for slurry pads* (*see note below), and had to brace them, sometimes 20' above grade for pouring.

My experiments showed that it was easiest if;

- you use adjustable braces, we ended up jury-rigging some, the concrete contractor was so impressed he bought them all when were finished. We used two pieces of heavy wall steel tubing with flat plate on the bottom, and a curved plat strapped to the tube above, down near the bottom was welded an old car bumper jack from the wrecking yard. Voila, adjustable.

- don't let them put the vibrator in the tube, make them vibrate the steel rebar only, if the vibrator MUST go in, be sure it never stops moving, and only move it slowly, never drive it down fast.

Want me to show you when I get there with the lift? ;)

* Slurry pads are a rare and scary way of building used in the Caribbean and South America, when they want to build in a low area near the ocean they just make a bunch of footers, then pour tubes full of concrete vertically on top of the footers, then they make a berm between the building site and the ocean, and start pumping in water and sand (slurry), the water runs back into the ocean, the sand stays behind and builds up around the pilings. The problem is the only way you have of knowing if the footers blew out, or the tubes shifted during the pumping process, is to put a house on top. :(

Oh, and when a big storm comes up, the sand likes to go back out to sea.....

I have a JD 755 with loader and snowblower. I have used both at the same time. No need to remove the loader. Raise the loader, attach the snowblower to it's frame mount but don't use the hydraulic lift of the snowblower. Instead use a chain from the loader to the snowblower and raise/lower the snowblower using the loader. Unhook and pin the bucket so it won't move and use the bucket hydraulics to run the snowblower shot rotator. Worked great for me, only issue was the height of the raised loader when snowblowing close to buildings.

I'd like to see the power graph of the comparable machines. And I'd like to see the traction graph and at what point traction is lost doing loader work.

Power is one thing, but traction is another. Particularly in loader work, a full bucket is a full bucket so no amount of power will overcome traction. And you have to remember these machines are not meant to be real backhoe loaders; they're meant primarily to pull.

And I hate to say it, but if a dealer doesn't have what you're looking for, he may try to steer you into something less than your expectations rather than lose the sale totally.

But I'm jis' sayin'.

Apparently according to where I bought the part, the "D" ie TC45D stands for "Deluxe" while a TC45 is not deluxe. It may be the same motor, but according to the service bulletin that he faxed me the "D"'s have a different glow plug in them, resulting in quicker warming and hence requiring a shorter glow period, thus a different relay. Call your dealer and they should be able to fax you the information from the service manual. Also you can look up any part number on-line through newholland.com and it will show you two different relays based on model number.

The service bulletin shows you how to test the relay, but given that this is the only switch between the ignition and the glow plugs, if it isn't timing correctly where else could the problem exist? So instead of running the jumpers to do the simple test, I simply changed the unit, end of problem and end of story.

My tractor arrived with the black filter. 600+ hours later and two Hydraulic oil changes and both times changed to white hydraulic filter with no problem. Actually thought the black filter was none OEM (bought tractor used).

Yeah, for the most part. There are different Categories 0, 1 that I'm familar with. Usually the bigger the end holes the higher the Category. Just be sure you have swing or sway chains on the lower bars otherwise the first time you turn or go off-camber the bars will get caught on the tires which at the very least is annoying, and worse-case could rip or chunk out the tire tread.
