Thanks for all the replies. I found some tires at place called Fleet Farm and popular in Wisconsin. Art says stick with the same all around so I will. They are six ply so they should be better. I would go with eight or ten ply but don't know were to get them. Anyone know of a place I can order 8 or 10 plies?

KT; The field cultivator is basicly identical to a soil finisher except it doesn't have the disc blades ahead of the shanks to cut up the old corn stalks, and your comment about having to disc ahead of the field cultivator is also correct. Todays modern hybrid corn variteys have a much more robust stalk plus we now plant in the 30- 35,000 seeds per acre compared to 20 yrs ago when 20-25000 population per acre was considered high, so there is just so much old fodder to deal with that a field cultivator just plugs with cornstalks. The rolling basket levers behind the soil finisher don't work very good here, they plug with last years corn butts and cease to roll, so the tine toothe harrow is about all that is used here. I have driven the Tundra through Blizzard conditons where NJ closed the roads down (I did not know it at the time, I was out of Diesel, Dah! LOL). I must have gone through 2 miles of 1.5 foot unplowed no problem. Likewise I climbed my neighbors unplowed steep triple switchback drive in deep snow just to put tracks in it for him when he was away.

On the other hand my wife did a 360 with the Tundra on the flat portion of my drive on black ice accelerating --heavy foot for a little lady-- so its not like studs ;)

I just saw some Yokohanna Geolanders on a Acura MDX that looked a nice tread for being grippy, but don't know much about the brand.

There is more than one neighbor with loud bikes, and it has been going on for more than a year. This week was the first time I've heard the very loud ATV...the "nice" neighbors tell me it goes on all the time. I guess up until now I've just been at the farm at times when he wasn't running it, or I was busy on our MF diesel with my hearing protection on.

I'm trying to avoid the temptation to annoy them with noise in the hope that they will see the connection. For one thing I don't believe that two wrongs make a right; also I've watched my poor Dad struggle his whole life to deal with situations like this; he is even less tolerant than I am of loud, rude behavior; and it never worked for him. That is really the larger point for me: I see that other people may be bothered a bit by the excess noise, but don't obsess about it or let it ruin their day. I'm trying to adapt to an imperfect situation.

On the other hand, there are a bunch of trees that need cut on my property about 60' from their front porch, and I prefer working early in the morning...

I think having a will is a plus in most cases. MY Mother did not have because her attorney/friend told her she did not need one since every thing would go to my brother and me. She did put the farm in our names and sold it before she died. My brother had power of attorney and took care of her financial paperwork until she died. He took his time taking care of and dividing up her assets after she died. I had a good idea of all her assets so I think he gave me my share. The only problem was he came down with cancer and died before he had every thing settled. Left me kind of holding the bag. She died in 01 and just got something the other day from the IRS regarding her.
Also had an aunt and uncle die with out wills and no kids. That left some hard feelings in the family.

I think any of today's new vehicles will cost ridiculous amounts to fix. It will only get worse - with the push for better mileage and many folks needing to drive big vehicles the only compromise is lighter materials, which means more plastics/composites and thinner sheet metal.

A lot depends on how many deer are in the area and the available food supply. Many areas that have problems with deer eating everything are due to an overpopulation of deer and not enough food for them. But you can't thin the herd because you can't kill Bambi!! So they eat everything in sight.

Dogs help, but the deer still came up to my place on occasion. They didn't eat much but the bucks would rub the fuzz off the antlers on the trees closest to the house. Did serious damage. I didn't sweat it.

May aunt has tall polls (8-10 feet) around her garden with fishing line across them. The deer can't see it, but they hit it and hate it. It keeps most of them out of the garden (plus the fence for rabbits since you can't shoot them in the city either). Between the rabbits and the deer, her garden is stronger than a military compound.

The tc 45 will do what you need and more. The feel of the tc 45 is much better than others. It was laid out better also sloped hood makes it easier to see. You can not go wrong with this tractor.

I have a Agracat tractor that needs repair. I live near Mpls, MN anyone know of someone that will work on these units. It needs engine work or perhaps even a new engine?

Mine has worked well. I waited until they went on sale late last winter and got one for $1100 at TSC.

According to the web page, they are gear drive.

The owners manual is available online at the link listed. Bandwidth warning: The file is 1.8 MB. It has exploded parts diagrams in the back.

WWII aircraft was a hobby when I was younger; now that I have a little boy I'm thinking of hobbies we can share, and want to look for aircraft museums and airshows. Now I'm getting interested again.

Harvey; I;ve gotten a lot of good advice on building the loft in the shed, and all is apreciated. Murf gave me some good info on being able to keep my larger three phase equipment by using phase converter, but I'm now leaning toward a PTO generator instead. Out of 15 major shop machines I'm moving over here three of them are three phase, these machines are big in physical size plus need lots of infeed and outfeed room, so in a 46X18 shop the basic twelve single phase machines will fit without being in each other's way Two of the three three phase machines are large table saws with traveling tables and the third is a 37 in. widebelt sander. Nothing for sure yet but I think I have a buyer for all three. So latest plan is to sell those and buy back a smaller Powermatic 16 in. single phase open end wide widebelt sander that will fit in the shop. Then rather than overload the limited power source I now have without getting another service thru the power co. I'll buy the smaller widebelt and a generator, so that in times of peak need I can change a switch that cuts off the power co. and makes the shop generatoe dependent and use it that way only when several high AMP machines are running at the same time. The wife is more content with the generator, she has been telling me we need one anyhow. I too have had several different "M" and Super "M"s, they did like their gas. The construction crew completed the loft in two days time now the tin crew comes Monday to line the shop part with steel, those guys really move along. Have a big day. Frank.

Men, could it be our wives have it backwards...rather than vacuuming the house, they need a leaf blower? I like the concept. No doubt husbands would find that better to operate. <br>

I have used leaf blower on a peanut combine and it did good job. Wonder why I had not thought about it for the tractor itself? Have used air hose on it and had considered setting up pressure washer for quick use.

Oh boy! This will be the next rage with the wanna-be gang-bangers and tuners. I can still rmemebr the first time a few years ago when I saw hose spinning wheel covers on a car that had just stopped at a traffic light to my right. I almost crapped my pants and hit the brakes approaching the light (I was focused on the cars ahead of me) 'cause my brain could not reconcile seeing a car stopped BUT the wheels still turning! I thought we were gonna crash! Once I realized what had happened I felt like such a fool! And I could only laugh out at myself.

I don't need to spend 3000 on a loader when I all ready have the FEL on the BX23.
Also keep in mind a bigger tractor cost more than a smaller tractor.

Hi I have my little B 7200 back together. The last thing that could have been put in wrong is the clutch fork. I have a new one coming. I can not find anywhere where in the manual which way it goes. Just watch how it is when you take it out. So far everything the dealer did is screwed up. I have corrected everything and the little guy runs so good. I just wish it was a little bigger. But I need to know if the small offset in the fork angle goes to the front or back. Then all will be great.<br>

I have a 7610 w/ 175 hours and the dealer sez I have a bent shift fork in the hi-lo range (a hydro) Split the cases to fix equals HUGE $. Does anyone have a simlilar experience? Any service bullitens? Thaknk you . Please reply directly to my e-mail... K
