EW I have never seen the lifts that low in price, but if you can get them down that far? I am not sure you could drive off the 2 legged lift at heighth, you are placing a lot of weight at the edge. I think the lifts are designed to have the weight near the center?

I use a synthetic hydraulic fluid in my L2900, that improved shifting dramaticly especialy when it's cold.

Keep in mind my 33D is different that yours but...the relay is under the right hand side cowling next to the steering wheel column. I paid about $18 plus shipping, and the dealer suggested I go to a regular autoparts to buy it but I wanted to be sure it was the right one.

Mine works by a toggle switch on the dash, and goes through relay as whenever I touch the left brake it disconnects. The magnet is located on a lever on the steering column lower portion connected to the foot pedal linkage. It keeps the pedal at a certain position. It more or less a lock for the hydro pedal. Because it's a magnet and not a positive stop like a sliding pin-in-a-hole, it can be overridden if you press hard enough on the go pedal.

It looks and works like a trailer axle electric brake magnet or "puck". When the cruise is not on I can hear the magnet slightly grazing the flat plate. When turned on, the magnet grips the plate and in doing so prevents the go pedal from moving. It's a simple but effective set up. If yours is similar to mine, I'd check the fuse, the switch , relay and see if there's power to the magnet. If the magnet has power, see if the plate is dirty or rusted. It should be clean to make the magnet grip properly IMHO.

This tractor was manufactured in the mid to late 80's for sale in Japan. The serial number is normally found stamped into the transmission tunnel. Yours has been "refurbished" which can mean as little as just repainted. Don't trust the hour meter.We can furnish manuals and parts. Bill - mitsubishitractorparts.com, 1-800-609-5110

The fact that it works normally with a 'cold start-up' might indicate more serious problems than you would like.<br>
These tractors have the hydraulic filter inside a canister just below the right side running board.. in addition, they have a pick-up screen in the bottom of the transmission/rear end case. From the filter canister and toward the rear of the tractor, you will see a plug (approx. 1 1/2 inch diameter) that has a square hole in it for a half inch ratchet to fit into... remove that plug and pull out the screen...if you have trouble pulling it out, go straight across the housing to the other side and remove another plug....you will then be able to bump the filter out with a long bolt or punch....the filter screen is probably 10" long and about an inch or so in diameter. If you didn't know of that screen and it has not been cleaned in a long time, you could have minor problems, but not likely. What happens most of the time is that for whatever reason the brake linings will come apart and cover this screen, causing the hydraulic system to 'starve' for oil. When the tractor sits not running for a while, that stuff will tend to fall off the screen and settle back to the bottom of the housing, so when you start up it works fine again until it pulls that trash back up around the filter and starves out the pump.... it doesn't completely cut off the oil, but it will restrict it enough to cause everything to giggle/jump. Many times I've had people tell me that....well my brakes seem fine...that can be the case and the linings still be completely gone, so just because your brakes act like they always did, doesn't mean the discs still have lining. <br>
This is probably your worst case senerio and since it's been a while, maybe you've found something much more minor causing your trouble.<br>

The 2630 JD has a closed center hydraulic system and does not need a 'power beyond'....in fact there is no such thing as 'power beyond' with this type system. You can get hydraulic pressure anywhere you can tap a pressure line and you will not have to worry about a pressure relief valve....this particular pump has it's own built in. You never said, but does your log splitter have it's own control valve for the splitting cylinder or are you wanting to operate that cylinder with the tractor remote lever? I'm assuming it has it's own, otherwise you shouldn't be having the problem you describe. A cylinder is a cylinder and has no knowledge of 'open' and 'closed' center hydraulics....control valves are a different story and will have to match the tractor system to function properly. One way you can usually tell (with a valve that was taken from another application) an open center valve is, it should have had 3 hoses connecting it to the tractor.... one would be a pressure port...one is a return to system pressure....the other is a low pressure return to sump. A closed center valve only uses two hoses...one pressure the other return (low pressure). If your splitter has it's own valve, there is a chance that it is one that can be converted to work with either of the two system types....you would need a special fitting to go from open to closed. If you know what brand valve you have it shouldn't be hard to locate that conversion fitting.

Billy, You're right on the angle of the edge, and that was always my downfall, I just could'nt seem to keep it consistent. The fellow I spoke of who sharpend our woodshop tools always left kind of a second minibevel on the very edge of the blade that was hardly visible without a hand lense, I don't know the strategy behind that but they always cut better than new planer or jointer knives. That's why I'm asking. I've never seen anyone pour oil into a filter that I can remember. I'd venture to say that whether it be the local garage doing one or two oil changes or the local Jiffy Lube doing dozens a day you'd be hard pressed to see someone filling a filter with oil prior to installation. I'll begin to do it myself now, BUT, I still don't believe the majority of people do it.

The filter was given to the neighbor so it's not like he's going to get his money back although I ASSUME he's going to bring it back to tell them about the problem. Also, he plans on selling the tractor. He likes a Kabota that a friend of his has and is leaning towards going orange.

I have the 295 AMP 20th Century model. It was made by Century, a long time ago, my Lincoln dealer gave me a copy of the parts list off their CD which was copies of an old micorfiche from the looks of it. Other than connectors, and maybe a fan, not much available for parts, but not much to go wrong with it. Sure welds great.

From what my NH dealer told me for trade-im purposes 600 hrs per year is an acceptable normal usage. I'm under 300 per year on a skid steer and even less than that for my CUT and they're used commercially. (Yes Murf they need to work more than that-- I know. Believe me I know)

Where I from a piece of equipment typically doesn't need a major overhaul until 5000 hrs.

Perhaps that 1200 hrs has tax depreication ties too, dunno.

Also, the usable life of anything is not solely dependant on one thing, such as the power unit. Repowering units (new or rebuilt engines) are available for pretty much any machine going back 50 years or more in some cases. It's not as if the entire machine has to be replaced, i.e., if your car tires get worn out, you don't toss the car, you buy new tires and keep goin'.

Before I bought the '02 NH I have now I used a 1947 9N for a year and a half. Before I had the '03 and '05 skid steers I had/have now I had a 20-year-old skid steer.

#8 is the required minimum wire size for a 40A breaker (per the NEC). No derating would be required for a 70' run.

I've got a single in/out for my power beyond (Q.D. type). When nothing in attached, it couples together to complete the open center system loop. The valves for the TNT simply Q.D. into it - and the same with the backhoe. The TNT cylinders have to completely come off to mount the backhoe. I'm leaning towards making the valve assembly bracket quickly detachable when changing over.
