Not sure this helps but I installed 3 other power beyond accessories controlled from one rear remote--one is for the power quick-attach plate (like a skid steer has), one for the toplink, and one for rear remotes on the attachment plate to power a rake---all in/out functions are controlled by the single control lever on the tractor's pod on the fender. Two 4-way selectors are mounted side by side near the seat which are plumbed to/from the original rear remote lines.

Sounds like you have dual rear remotes?

Question: Can you extend the top link enough to reach the backhoe so that you don't have to remove it (I haven't a clue what your backhoe att. setup looks like)

There might be some out there but the selection got slim when people realized they were to be no more of them produced. It might take your dealer searching the company pool to find one..

Yes I think most of us on the board, except Oneace are getting too old to be standing in a snow bank wrenching on cars. One of the coldest jobs I can remember was replacing a clutch on my friends Camaro in Edson AB in April.

What I was trying to get at on my earlier question was whether the there was a heat riser for the incoming air on the 7.3? I have had the pipe corrode out on the back side and not draw air from the exhaust manifold heater into the air box and then wonder why I was getting carb icing. I thought it might be a simple solution that could have been over looked.

Sorry to hear about your Dad Bill. I hope his situation improves. Congratulations on the baby. I'm a February baby myself. February babies are the best looking too ;-).
At any rate, it's good to see you on here and I hope you and yours have a great Christmas.

I'll be a bit surprised if it's the oil also but I'm not even a novice on this stuff. The neighbor called me today and rather than buy new lighter weight oil he's going to put the old oil back in just to see what happens. I guess that is better than buying yet more oil not knowing what the outcome will be.

I hope they figure it out and get ya fixed up. My stepdad had been dealing with a bad hip for several years. Some docs saying you need a hip replacement, etc. So just stopped complaining to them. But it really affected his life. He went to another doc, she touched him in 3 paces, said it burcitis. Gave him a cortezone shot and he's doing great.

So I hope this doc knows what he's doing for your sake!

The blizzard here along the Front Range has been nice to look at from here in the house yesterday. The snow and the wind are supposed to taper off early this afternoon (Thursday). The local stations are reporting that we got around 24" for the area. Looking out, I can see some drifting around the house amongst the patches of almost bare ground. The winds here yesterday and last night were reported to be around 30 mph gusting to 40 taking the snow into a white out condition.

I went into work yesterday morning sort of knowing that I would not stay the entire day. Operations were suspended at noon, so I was on my way home. A normal 25-30 minute drive took well over an hour, mostly watching out for the idiots driving thier jacked-up trucks and SUVs; I wish they would return from where ever they come from. I saw all sorts of vehicles in the ditches along the trek home, and it got worse throughout the day and into the night. I-70 has been closed from Denver to the Kansas border since early yesterday with I-25 being closed north and south of Denver later in the day; both remain closed except for in the Denver area. By the way, today (Thursday) was supposed to be my last day at work due to starting the Christmas break tomorrow (Friday) for a week and a half off -- and it still is "Christmas" to me and not the generic namby-pamby "Holiday" time that has come into our language lately. I guess that I got an extra day and a half off to enjoy my family and have time to get some things done around the house.

Anticipating the arrival of all of the snow, I got the little Case ready for action Tuesday after getting home from work. I am looking forward to getting out later to clear the drifts that swirled around the garage and on the driveway.

Hi Guys, wondering if anyone can tell me how to check the transmission/hydraulic fluid in this tractor?<br>
I just got it used and didn't get an operators manual! My dad has an L2900 and it has a sight window on the Rear rock shaft region to see the fluid level. This is an older machine than that one and doesn't have that sight window. At the top of the rock shaft where the oil fill cap would be, they ran the power-beyond line from the added rear remotes into it, so if this is where the dipstick would have been, how can I now check the fluid?<br>
Problem really is, I have a small leak wear the glide-shift shaft turns at the bottom of the trans, I think that there's probably an O-ring that is deteriorated some, but until I get a parts manual to see, I'm just guessing. Anyway, it doesn't seem to leak when running, just sitting overnight it will leave a film of oil about the size of a dollar bill on the concrete. I know I need to fix this, but in the mean time want to make sure fluid level is correct. Any help available is appreciated. Same series machines were the L2950 and L3650, I'd guess they were the same as far as how the FLuid level is checked. <br>
By the way, tractor operates fine, little slow/delayed when sliding between gears, but loader and 3ph seem not affected.

You guys are missing the bucket--pun intended :) It's one thing to LIFT something with a FEL---it's a totally different matter to move the CUT with it raised any amount and do it safely especially considering the 10 percentile that won't, and then hurt themselves and sue over it. My skid loader is rated at safely hauling 2700 lb. lifted fairly high and driving with it (but don't stop too fast or you'll be kissing the ground). Now, it's rated at 5500 lb. tipping which is a whole different matter, which means it will lift 5500lb. before the rear wheels come off the ground. Can I, and do I, do it? Yup (I know its limits). Is it safe? Nope. That's for skid steers with no suspension or no articulating axles---tractors when they lift the rear wheels are like having no front wheels as far as the raised load is concerned since the front axle cannot exert any resistance from overturning until it hits the bump stops but by that time you're lieing on your side. If you have ever nearly tipped a CUT or backhoe over---you know what it means to have your life flash in front of you. Gravity: Friend or Foe?

I would prefer to have the 200CX loader as the ability to quickly remove it is nice for mowing the lawn. You might see what he would do on at loader swap.

My BX does the same thing , the 3pt. has to be half way or down to lift properly, the loader on your tractor is stronger than mine , mine is rated at 460 lbs ,but it will lift 11 80lbs bags of salt but it won't lift 12 , Craig.

I realize a lot of changes have happened, the only dry brakes I have had experience with never lasted nor seemed to fully release. Could have been due to being old and springs loosing tension.

Interesting point on the diff. not being centered possibly affecting wear.

Like EW we always had IH equipment when I was small and on the farm in ONT. Most of the farms around either had IH or MF equipment. Massey had bought our family farms in Canton so he had more than a little influence in the area. There were not many tractors in northern B.C. Not much farming. I never really got a look at the old JD equipment until I moved to KY and a friend had a barn full to tinker with. Like Art said they seem dated even for the era. My Oliver Super 55 with a Perkins engine and 3pt hitch was closer to a modern tractor than many of the same era Deere.

EW I can also remember riding the tow bar when disking and plowing. I was less than 6 at the time. Not something I would recommend today.

I had a 750 as my first compact, but 30 acres. It was not really big enough for some of the tasks. I traded it for the 955. I would think it would be a fairly good deal and able to do most tasks on 5 acres. A couple of HP would be better.

I would make sure you are not leaving any money on the table. Personally I have always been able to get my money back out of the tractor and if you decide to trade up it is nice to recoup all your money.

I have a vertical exhaust for a 4310 in the box that i never installed. If someone on theis list would like to buy it i would make them a good price for it. I was going to get one for my 3520 but it takes a large hole in the top of the hood and the best i can tell you have to remove the exhause somehow just to raise the hood so i never bought one for it. Anyone have this onn their 3520?

Markpe; I think it depends a lot on tread preference of an ariea or the most intended use. If you have lots of mowing as being the biggest use for tractors sold from a dealership the likely the Turfs will be more costly than around here where mowing is a not a top priority with the larger compacts, in fact the local JD dealer will hardly trade in a tractor with turf because so few folks want them. I really don't have a figure for you, but I do think a set of used turfs would cost a lot less around here than maybe where you are, so check around a bit before you buy. Happy hunting. Frank.

Try checking the neutral switch by the hydro pedal. Worked on one that it whould stick and run but then after you got off or shut the tractor down and try to restart it wouldn't.

My TC40 pulls a 2 bottom 16 with absolutely no burbs in my heavy clay type soil. Can till right down to the bottom depths. I feel very confident it could handle a 3 bottom with no problem. The 4wd IMO makes the difference in adding 1 to 1 1/2 more bottoms.
