also make sure you have not pulled the up lever on the 3 point . If it is up sometines that makes the fel weak. You may have to adjust the control knob or let the hitch drop.

Peters, my Dad used to be one of the guys who ran the power plant in the control room. I used to think the reason we had so few long outages was because my Dad used to call the plant whenever the power went out :). Your explanation sounds good.

My Dad lived through some pretty scary situations at the powerplant. One time the giant fan disintegrated killing a worker. Another time a new power plant "imploded" when the furnace vents wouldn't open, a vacuum was created inside the furnace and the steam pipes broke away from the furnace. Everyone was crawling on their hands and knees to find a way out. Turned out a squirrel had gotten into the controls somewhere which prevented systems from operating correctly.

Rankin, don't let 'em kid you about scratching their heads about $500 under dealer cost. "Dealer cost" can be any number the dealer wants to make up---like dealer cost for $1000 "custom" pinstripe job that they paid $85 for, or a $2000 sunroof they paid $800 for.

"Factory Invoice" is what the dealer pays for it--- on paper---- when they borrow money for it. However, they get what's called "hold backs" which is like a commission. If they thought they were going to lose one cent they would have recinded the transaction pronto! Holdbacks for Ford products were in the 5-6% range. Then the salesman also sometimes get a kickback from lending institutions for referring the business on your loan---which may not be the BEST loan value out there for them to choose from.

Peters, I'm guessing maybe a quart of fluid at most before the engine was shut down. As for the power steering and hydraulics, it looks like something comes off the engine and powers both the hydraulic pump on one side of it and the power steering pump on the other. I'm no mechanic, just describing what it looks like. I'm hoping my neighbor finds out more tomorrow. I've been sending him some of the possibilities posted here. Steve

As far as limbs catching the exhaust pipe, I saw a system in a construction magazine that featured a break-away or rather a bend-away pipe that was spring loaded at the base. It was for backhoes and loaders.

I don't recall any fluid in mine. I would not rush out and buy a new one unless it fails again for the same reason in a very short time.

There aren't English manuals for the N189 . I can suooly English manuals for a some what similiar US tractor.The N-series was not sold in the US , so there are is not a US model that it crosses to. I have the N189 parts book. It is in Japanese. . Email me at sheaftractor at grics.net for pricing.

Frank I was thinking a small building above ground. Lacing the reinforcing bar across the ceiling and pouring as a monolithic structure. I bit like a WW II pill box. I would thing 5000 BTU would keep it cool. They use these materials for cold storage building with the walls being white.
I could be below ground but thought it would be more useful above round. They have tested the walls for 150 mph debree so it should be sufficient.
Like you said I am a bit worried about condensation and freezing of the air conditioner.

Art; When I was a kid I worked for a neighbor baling hay. He was a real hurry up, and very particular type fellow who couldn't stand to see time wasted. I and his son traded off every other load either driving on the baler or loading bales, every load had to have 64 bales to make his hay fork work out to 8 bales at a time in the mow. He wouldn't let either his son or I help hook up the loaded wagons when he brought the empty racks to the field, you allready know the rest of the story, he stood on the ground behind the right side of the tractor so he could reach the hand clutch and the wagon tounge at the same time to hook up. Even as a kid it scared me to watch. By some quirk of fate he lived into his 90's with only a few minor injurys. We had farmall tractors and had a 2MH picker on an M, talk about hazards, even with the shields in place you were inches from roller chains, the snapping roll shafts, etc. I remember lots of older farmers who lost arms or were killed trying to unplug husking beds or snapping rolls with the picker running. So yes I can believe that insurance companies would get a bit jittery over some older equipment. Keep safe. Frank.

That's an interesting article. Peppers have always been known to be good for you so it probably wouldn't hurt diabetes patients to take capsaican (sp?) supplements. My wife's mother has diabetes bad so she will be interested I'm sure.

As with the glow plugs themselves, I'd say odds are good that 150,000 mile gaskets need replacing as well.

The question I think asked earlier and I don't see a comment from you on it, are you sure you don't have bad fuel or water in it?

Something that has worked for me a time or two is to pull it to crank. You can get a faster engine turn over than the starter and for longer period of time. If you do, be careful. If you have a hydrostat trans have no idea if this could damage it.

Hang in there, you will get it going.

As far as the price range is concerned, I believe that there are three different models to choose from, from TORO. If memory serves me (been kind of cloudy lately), the range was between $1800 - $3700, something like that. They would be running approximately 2300 - 2800 revs for optimum output flow, with the rear pto set at 540.

With mine, running at about 1000 revs, this thing blows WET cakey leaves, 1" maple sticks, etc, in the neighborhood of 15 to 20 feet away. It's great....everything ends up over in my neighbors yard, and I'm not even close to the boundary! LOL
Seriously, she pushes ALOT of air. I have run this on my older B5200 kubotas, of which are 3 cyl,13.5 eng.hp, 11 hp pto, as well as on my B7500's which are 3 cyl. 21 hp eng,HSD/DT 16 hp/17hp respectively, with NO problem - PLENTY of power to spare.

One of the biggest things that I have noticed with mine, is that it will blow "better" in one direction than the other, but still performs fantastic.
I purchased mine for $200.00 at auction. It basically needed a couple of roller wheels and fresh coat of paint. I have seen two different ones advertised on eBay about two months back. If I can find the info, I'll pass it along to you.
It is actually so powerful, that I have even seen it throw 2" trap rock off the ground in some areas, granted not like a baseball flying at you, but still moves it out of the way....- THAT impresses me. And if it ends up o'er yonder in the neighbors, well one less rock that I will hit with the mower! LOL
