Yep, the murf pipe did so well, I thought I'd upgrade to a blade. I was planning on building exactly like your rig - I'll pass on the the 9' blade.

I found a cheapo 7' "snow bear" personal snowplow used for $250. If I add a quick-tach plate and some steel, I thoink I could finish it for $400. Not sure the blade is heavy enough for long term usage though.

Generally we don't get more than 4-8" ever, and it melts off after a week or so. If we get a big dump, I'll switch to a loader blade and spend a few hours.

I'm trying to grease up my loader valve with with lithium grease to prevent freezing, but have been thwarted by the cover removal. Any hints there?, and I assume, the idea is to put a thin layer on the linkages and valve pistons so that water can't get in there and freeze. I'm using my tractor to dig my barn/shop footings, so it will be in the weather for another month or two.

My 7275 is a few years older than yours but basically the same tractor. Mine has about 750 hours on it without any major trouble. I love mine. Parts maybe high but check out the cost of Deere components.

You are under estemating the power of these tractors big time. I got a b7510 and manage a 4ac, 7.6ac,7ac and a 37ac property were I cut 22ac of grass three times a year. It works just fine. Sometimes I wish I would have went with a 7800 for the extra nine horse power for the tall grass. In the tall grass I wish I had enough power to stay in high gear cause 22 acres gets old real fast in low gear and sometimes the tall grass gets thick before I know it,otherwise high gear cuts it real good. Depending on the size of trees and width of the logs,you may want a bobcat. If it's 6" logs 100" long (pulp)a 7510 would pull them out like nothing. After you're done logging a bx would work fine. I rotto till gardens for me and others at 1800rpm so I know even the smallest bx would work fine. Remember a diesel is a heck of a motor, much different than gas tractors.

OK perhaps I'm confused you say side to side I thought you meant forward and back. The tractor has 1900 hrs. but I'm the second owner so I don't know if the clutch was ever changed or adjusted.

Yoper; Yes "Merry Christmas" to all. We both must have been super good. Santa said he has a new "Hill Billy Cadillac" waiting for me at the Chevy dealer today, so maybe we could hook your trailer to the Chevy and drive around tooting the horn, if it has one. Frank.

As has been mentioned, stay with a main line brand that has a good dealer network for parts and service later on, no matter what brand you buy they all will need service. With your needs you likely arent going to use a tractor more than a hundred hours a year so maybe finding a used unit at a dealership that will give you a decent warranty on it may be your best choice. Lots of folks do business with E-bay and likely there will be several tractors listed, but that can be kind of risky. Many stolen machines end up there and especially if you have no prior tractor experience you could be taken advantage of by someone selling a lemon. Unless you are in a real hurry take your time and look around a bit. Good luck. Frank.

Part of your problem is the splitter you are using is probably setup for open center hydraulics. Your Ford was open center, but the John Deere is closed center. When an open center valve is hooked to closed center tractor, it will cause the pump to cavitate. Did the hydraulic hoses start jumping or shaking? That is probably why the coupler keeps coming undone. The control lever on the tractor is not designed to stay engaged. You can use the rear couplers if you have a closed center valve, but you will need to tie the lever back with a bungee cord. You might get better flow(faster cycle times on the cylinder) if you put a "tee" in each of the lines where the loader connects under the right step. These connections will provide hydraulic power as soon as the engine starts without having to engage any levers. I hope that makes sense to you and doesn't confuse you futher.

Problem solved. I changed all the fluids today even brake fluid, windshield washer fluid. power steering fluid, anti freeze, kinda pricey tho, traded pickups. Frank.

I'm new to this and not sure what to buy or how much to pay. I live in a hilly area so my only real use is working a 100x200 arena, moving snow and maybe a little dirt or gravel. Usually we see them stick where the linkage goes into the rear axle. Sometimes if you soak this down with a lube like WD-40 and work it back and forth it will free it up. If not the fix is still pretty easy but requires taking the side axle apart.

Frank, there is still a couple of machines built that just till the rows or designated area. They use small(20 to 30" heads that drive from an upper shaft down to the unit. The reverse tine tillers were first used in walk behind and tthey are great for holding a tiller in place to till when you have stones. With the larger tractors it is not a problem to hold them in place to do a good job of tilling. What was found with farmers for tillers in many applications they were to slow and the tine wear was more expensive then plow parts and disc repairs. There are different types of steel used in the tines, some are large and a softer steel that will wear faster but take a larger amount of abuse from stones without breaking, the others are a harder steel wear better are smaller in size and penetrate the soil easier but might break in basic gravel beds. The smaller tines normally do the job faster and require less horsepower to run as well as run the machine with less vibration in stones.

Just to be clear: the RO is a membrane, not a filter, but it has pre-filters to remove chlorine(which is harmful to the membrane)and sediments.

It might have a post, or finishing filter also.... usually it is carbon based too.

When I talk of testing, I am referring to testing the salt rejecting quality of the RO membrane, not the pre or post filters.

I own one and I can do just about anything with it, the problem I have found with it is that it doesnt have extra Hydrolic valve set to run different machines.

I have a 2520 with the 200x on it, and I dont think with the size of the bucket and tractor there is any way to reach the 900 lbs anyway, I have hauled rock, towed trees, and dug out a small pond with it, and have had no problems.
