Peters is right, it is mostly the drying rate that is causing the twisting.<br>

If you ever have to do it again, the important factors are; a) LOTS of room for air flow, b) EVEN air flow, and c) protection from the elements, sun, wind, rain, or even too much heat, like in a closed-up shed will make the nicest board twist.<br>
<br>
I made up some brackets to keep our boards straight as they dry, they are 2"x2" heavy wall tubing with loops welded to half of them, and smooth rollers attached to the other half. A few of them are laid out like sleepers for the wood to be piled on top of, and when the stack is finished, more go on top. A cable leads from the bottom back, up & over the rollers on the top ones, then down to a cable come-along which connects to the the lower front loops. This binds the whole stack into a nice tight bundle, and the winch is periodically tightened up to keep it under tension as the wood shrinks and dries.<br>

Just adding weight to the top of the pile usually does little, since the cumulative effect of all those boards warping just lifts the weights.<br>

Call it luck did not know about cupping, bark side, and whatever else. 96 degrees in the sun on the open deck laying boards I just wanted them down. They told me to lay the boards with no space between them they will space themselves I have about 1/4" between the boards.:)

EW, I suspect it's a case of reverse-engineered CYA. ;)

Your CUT was designed not to take anything more than an FEL with a 800 pound capacity. By putting the new curved-arm FEL on, you could potentially overload the tractor by 50% more than it was designed to take.

That's not to say you *can't* put that loader on, but you open up the possiblity. This though could easily be prevented by merely adjusting the relief valve to open at a lower pressure setting, one that would limit the lift capacity to something close to the design limits of the CUT.

I have had the 6' drive over MMM for 3 years now and I LOVE IT!!! I have 10 acres and mow probably 4 of it. After mowing it looks like a golf course. Only problem I have had was a swing-arm (I do not have the exact name of the part :-)) weld broke at the weld point on both sides on the deck itself. Fortunately it was covered by the warranty. The dealer told me it was becasue I was mowing at high speeds and my property gets a little bumpy in some spots. I guess it was too much side to side movement and tourque on the welds.

There are probably people out there that might have bought the Massey over the Kubota even spending the extra money for one reason or another. But for the money difference just look at the two tractor spec's for the chores that you have as well as potential resale and what is the best value to you. We don't know what you have to do! Tell us and then we could find the value for you.

I always install 134. From the brand new to the 20 year old. Why? Because that is what the book called for. Will the 90w hurt probably not but in the winter when the oil is below freezing you are going to lose allot of drive power until the oil warms up. You figure the front dif lasted 20 years in your machine using the 134 why change now.

I pour the chain bar oil out into a 1 quart oil container (currently using an old plastic Mobile 1 oil bottle) or if it gets really cold I use a one quart 80W90 gear oil plastic squeeze bottle. 1 quart lasts my O-66 about 4 to 6 tanks of gas and it is not so much to lug around on the ATV.

Dave's right, you will never keep the wires dry, so don't even waste your time trying.

Use the Sced. 40 conduit, it's cheap insurance compared to digging it up when a rock or tree root breaks the line.

There is often very little price difference to up grade one size, if you do, buy a spool of light rope to put in with the wiring, if you ever decide to add another wire, you will be *very* glad you have that wire there to pull the new cable through. If you do put a second wire in, be sure to pull a piece of heavy twine through with it, you can then use the twine to pull the rope back in place for next time.

I had just brought a Root bucket Grapple from WR Long. It's great. It's their RBG-60. I've only had it for two weeks now. I use it to pick up branches and logs. The only thing it would be nice if it could rip out stumps. Oh it will do small stumps about 5 inches in diameter.

Sure can spend a lot of time on e-bay looking at welders! Not to say ebay isn't a two hour plus time period daily already! I There are some low priced boxes on there, I have a problem with low quality so would rather buy a high end used then to have the econo-box, I've just never had any luck in that dept. I want the gas I guess as I've heard it is more difficult to weld with the center flux wire.
