Clogged filter,possibly worn pump from improper oil,weak relief valve. Your background tells me that it is worked but it is a unique failure but should be easily fixed. Can I replace your next pump for 5000?

I'm looking to add top and tilt hyd. cylinders to my JD 4110. I found a suitable top link cylinder (see web link). I'm having difficulty finding a good side link cylinder. This is due to the 'pre-bent' tie rod ends on the current link, along with the small space it needs to fit into. ccmachinery.com says they have none, and don't know when the next boat from overseas will bring more.<br>

So, does anyone have a source for side link cylinders? How side link much cylinder travel does the job?<br>

Also - for those who have them - is the anti-creep (check valve) something you would recommend?<br>

We use Sikkens two-part DEK on our deck. Maybe that would work. On our deck (that gets rained on 6 months of the year) Sikkens only lasts about a year on the horizontal ipe deck boards, however on the vertical cedar posts and stiles it has held up well for six years and still looks like new. Ipe is so hard and non-porous no coating will penetrate but on soft woods it penetrates well and looks wonderful. The cedar looks like mahogany.

Did you build a firewood processor? I have looked and all are very expensive unless you want to get into the business and are close to a major city. I would certainly consider building one with on farm treasures. Need to harvest about 200 ash tops that were cut last spring before the ash bore came in from Mich. <br>

Really the only time you would have to worry about the phase of your drive line is if you were building or repairing it your self. When coming from the manufacturer they will be phased correctly. All new and modern pto shafts regardless of shape will go together just one way. I have run across some older square shafts that are worn that will go in any direction. Basically you want your shaft yokes to be in line with each other.

And the weights alone can get verrry pricey, plus shipping if you have to order them new. And it seems every manufacturer uses a different variation of mount to hang them off the bracket, so you can't necessarily call any dealership and say "sell me some weights". If you're willing to take a shot at making a bracket then you might want to look at eBay for new or used weights too. I've seen some go for $5 each compared to $50-$80 each new plus shipping. On eBay do a search for "weights" in Business and Industrial and you will find weights for skid steer loaders that will (may) work too as they are very close in design to the ones used on tractors (especially for Deere and New Holland). Don't go for the Bobcat-brand axle weights though as they look like a big, bolt-on, 40 lb. doughnut.

Frank, we have a 656 gas that has the two point hitch with a narrow front end, the boys really appreciate it as a yard tractor although a hydro would be appreciated. The hydro on the pto we found was good for about 10 percent for efficiency, just as much as it might prove a handicap on the gear drive for ground engaging tillage. Like all things that might get used for something that they are not designed for they don't perform as well.

For an entry level deer rifle, the model 94 Winchester 30-30 can't be beat. It's light, easy to use, moderate kick and smaller stock for fitting a 12 year old.

The only concern I would have is make sure they know and I mean really know and understand gun safety, because the 94 has the open hammer that once cocked has to be let off if they don't actually take the shot. It's a bit tricky for a young hunter to learn.

Having said that, gun safety with any type of gun is critical, because you can have a problem with leaving the safety off on say a bolt action if you allow the hunter to walk in the field with fire in the hole....something I would never allow a young hunter to do.

And back to the beggining thread in this message, I would always start a kid with a BB gun and when he has demonstrated good sense and good safety habits, move him to a pellet gun and again on to the .22 when he continues to demonstrate good judgement. That may be at 10 for some or maybe 13 or 14 for others and maybe even for others never....

I've looked at one of these drop baskets...my only concern was putting more weight that far off the back of my Foreman..I have another month or two on my Sportsman's Guide membership...which allows you to buy this rack for $98.97. I'm not sure why I bought the membership to Sportsman's Guide before I upgraded my membership on Tractorpoint...live and learn!!

Water resistant grease seems to help. I had a tube of high grade teflon grease for the Seadoo and used it on the components that saw water. The grease seemed to stay in the joint longer than the standard dino variety.

When I was growing there was always something in the swamp that would get you if you were not careful or when you went there without our parents knowing. Swamps were part of growing up with us. The stories late at night when when we were kids always involved the swaaaamp. Spider webs, moonlight, wind and dirt roads and we could see something in the swamp that looked like a ???????????. Those were good times. Simple and honest.

Hi just following up on the backhoe , taking my time , following the directions, making sure everything was tightened to spec. by the book ,everything fit very well , install took 6 hours , it took awhile to get used to how it works , (having never worked one of these things) but after I sort of got the hang of things it works real well ! overall very pleased , the only problem I have is I dont have anything that needs to be dug up at this time , projects that I needed it for are all finished :( , oh well ! , Craig.

Hi;

About 2,200 for 50" two stage. The whole mounting subframe makes you understand why it is this expensive. Easy attach/detach once the subframe is on. This makes in an easy swap with FEL.

The biggest improvement from my stand point is the circulation of air for winter heat is going to make it one comfortable ride! The air will make it nice although the cloth seat, nice touch but not towards industrial duty. The added horsepower from the larger engine will be used up with the additional weight and options. They have taken the work pick-up truck to SUV with a box for the new model.
