Earthworks brought up a very important point and that is image of a business.

Keep an eye out for someone (with tractor at least the brand) you are considering and ask them about the service and such they are getting. Take into consideration how they are using or not using it compared to how you will. How hard and how often.

You want to be sure parts are there when you need them. I have friends that bring up that on some of the non main brands. That is also true for your cutter and other equipment.

A way I found that works for me, find a dealer with two different brands, ask their experience between the two. Most are honest.

On the humor side, many of us understand Earthwork and his "blue" feeling. Sadly it is blue for a reason. ok, just kidding. Without a doubt in the construction market it is probably more than 50% Kubota HERE. Could be 75%. A mixture of green and blue being most of the balance. A few Kioti and very few of anything else. With small farm or homwowner tractors, more green and blue than orange.

Saw it late yesterday. Really looks good. Was surprised to see it has a mechanical lift rather than hyd. For my use I like the narrower width.

At some time the sight windows got paint on them. I think I read in another line where you mention a cleaner that might remove the paint without damage to such.

The 3710 was built for four years which is a normal model period whith about five being the max in todays mad marketing world. It's the models that you only see for a year or two that are the troubled ones. The tractor's engine performed well and was used for several models before in the horsepower class like the L-3600.

Kubota doesnt sell a backhoe for a bx2200 , you had to by another model bx22/bx23 to get the backhoe, tractor was about 6k more , couldn't afford it at the time , Craig.

My father has a 2015hst mahindra, bought it used w/63hrs last year with a 60 " belly mower and front loader for $9500.00 it's been a great tractor for the light duty work he uses it for .

I have a 1 yr old bx-23 which started right up to -10F (coldest it got last year) without the block heater being used (it is installed) IIRC it was alot like summer other 2-3 sec longer crank but I did let it warm up 10-min or so other than short move to clean off (stored outside) Only use 30-45 hrs yr so only(now) burn winter stuff but have a quart of the treatment

Tractorhouse.com has some nice machines. There is a 7800 in real nice shape for 11k and no plow. I know that's more than you wanted to spend but a half mile driveway will take a long time. I have a 7510 and it pushes snow with turf tires real well. But my drive is 200 feet and still takes a half hour when there are drifts. There are lots of Kubota adds on tractorhouse in Washington and Oregon. Good luck. Also, I know I'm on a KUBOTA sight but look into JohnDeere they are also good. A lot depends on the best service that is close by.

Consensus? Ha ha, we don't need no stinking consensus! If I needed a new battery right now I'd check the CCA of Cabela's that reason201 posted about above, and if close to original I'd go for it.

You should have counter weights installed with any front mounted implements from brooms and blowers to loaders two or four wheel drive for the best performance. Maybe someone here might be able to give you the prices they paid.

Well, I bought the 48" KK XB this weekend and got a few hours with it. With 4 hours of use, I have no complaints. The 300# weight is plenty for my little bx and the construction seenms solid. I used it with the rippers down to pull up some rocks and loosen the soil, then with no rippers to smooth things out and prepare for planting grass.
