Kenny. Kenny. Kenny. You leave me speechless sometimes. How can I follow that? I was able to get away without paying $1400 in fines when he let me go on a FEMA Exemption, BUT I did have to correct all the DOT issues.

Maybe the local dealers, but the corporation is doing rather well (NYSE symbol DE)...

My guess is the flood of Deere garden tractors at Lowes and Home Depot was the tipping point from profit to loss at a lot of Deere Dealers.

what's the root of the word assessor? that's all they are. just weren't smart enough to answer the pnone at customer service.

I had an appraiser fail my kitchen once since the new countertops weren't installed yet. No matter - the house has no functional kitchen, there goes the appraisal.

The 751 in question, does in fact have a pto pump set up rather than tractor hydraulics, so needless to say, there had better not be any contamination from one circuit to the other.
My dump trailer uses ATF as well, however ATF is still not -"motor" oil persay.

Kind of interesting - I had no idea that so many equipment pieces currently on the market, used motor oil in the hydraulic circuits.

Question: By using a motor oil in place of a true hydraulic oil, would it require a different setting of the pressure control/relief valve for proper operation? Or, is there a general operating pressure for motor oil versus hydraulic oil in the same system? (speaking of compact backhoes here only)

For most of the home owners in the area 100 hours a year is about the normal with some running 200 or more. We have found a few that have a tough time justifying the 50 hour oil change in the first year but that is the exception. We have a BX 2200 out with over 4000 hours on it and doing fine although a little ugly on the cosmetics side as he commercially mows with it as well as landscaping.

I'm not familar with a mid mount grader blade for that model but might get lucky and find the front blade. I'd say I'd look at the clutch disc and pressure plate and flywheel as the unit doesn't have many hours on it and they may have rust on them. A few more wheelies and try for slower engagement it might clean up. The other alternative is that they are worn to steel.

There are many manufacturers in that area, but I can't think of who would be making those loaders. I'll call around and ask.

You can get a 2-spool 7gpm loader valve, complete except the joystick, for $159 at SurplusCenter. The first spool has float with detent, the second spool has the regen circuit. All you would need to add is the joystick lever, or fabricate your own.

Your hyd independent PTO should allow 60 degrees of rotation while the tractor is turned off. I believe the rotation is clockwise. It will not rotate the other direction because of the lock. It will feel tight because of the hydraulic actuation.
Does the female end of the PTO have grease in it also?

Much like yourself, I found myself needing to do something as my old reliable trimmer died, the hedge trimmer was to cumbersome, and the trees grew too tall to reach.

I removed all my grass, and replaced with various colored landscape stone, dug up all the hedge and buried it, and cut down all my trees and split the wood for this winters firewood! TADA - - - ALL DONE !! LOL

Seriously, after doing alot of research, I eneded up buying a Stihl FS90R trimmer, with a straight shaft assembly. This unit offers a quick change head (two set screws) to change from string head, to 22 inch hedge trimmer with 130 degree angle adjustment capability, to a 12 inch tree brach pruning saw attachment. One can change attachments literally in a five second count.
I love it, and wished that I had such a tool some years ago.

Murf made a great point that I had struggled with as well. The hedge trimmer, though certainly heavier by comparison, offers a counter balance weight that makes the hedge trimming a snap. For grass trimming, the unit is so well balanced, it glides along any edge very easily.

What is nice also, is that this unit is a four stroke engine...REAL easy to start, and can barely hear the thing run.
Stihl even has a easy start retro kit available for folks that have difficulty pulling cords for shoulder or back problems.

I can honestly say, this thing was well thought out - I love it!

They do have a rubber seal that might do as well keeping water in after it gets there as it is supposed to keep it out. To seal with silicone after drying might help but be sure it is dry!

I've seen fully loaded hay wagons being pulled by RTV's but it is beyond the load ratings for both of these machines. Farmers will run the RTV in second range giving them the same 20MPH that the tractors tow at.

Prior to owning my CUT, my electric forklift ran out of juice outside the shop. The charger wasn't easliy going to be moved to the forklift, so the best option was to get the forklift to the charger. The manuvering area was too tight for a pickup truck, so I used my JD GT245 20HP (gas) garden tractor to move it - all 10,000 lbs. I pretty much spun the tires on the concete the entire way, but it did the job!

Went to hunt club where the tractor is. Put thermometer in radiator and guage is off. Bought a new guage. Will install this weekend. Hopefully cap is just releasing when I am over working tractor a little. I might step up to a 15 lb. cap.

The BX 1500 will run a small generator..... very small. My Deere 4115 has 20 HP at the PTO and is maxed out running a 10 KW.

So I am thinking your 12 or so PTO HP should produce 5 or 6 KW. Enough to run a house with a scaled back power need..... as long as you are not trying to start a 2.5 HP well pump or some other big draw appliance.

The diesel will adjust for the load unless it is totally overwhelmed.

You set the generator at pto speed and the engine increases or decreases the amount of fuel injected into the engine based on the load.

In other words, the engine governor will do all it can to keep the engine RPM constant as the load increases.

Considering all the stuff and the low hours, the price sounds reasonable.

The Deere 46 Backhoe will work just fine on this machine.

The 41xx series are as bullet proof as a small tractor gets.
