I looked at a 2004 2800DT model to buy today and when I lifted the finish mower the whole tractor was jumping. I knew there was something wrong. I did not offer any money just for that reason. If there is a fix for this I may consider. If you find out the fix please post it.

KW: Maybe part of plan b would be to use a garage door spring (some rated at 175 lb.) that will roughly the same closed-and-open length as the cylnder instead of a weight since depending how vertical the box is, the weight would have minimal effect on pulling the box down, especially if you had the box dumped backed downward over a hill. Personally, for what you're doing and the design parameters you have, I don't think you will have any problems with either lifting or lowering speeds wiith just a plain, basic 2-way cylinder plumbed as a 1-way without weights, springs, etc. So let's see what the "Testing Department" says and how that compares to "Engineering."

buy turf tires and switch each spring and fall between the turf and bar tires, or switch over to R4s for year round use.

I'd just leave it alone with the A/Gs.
They work fine for me and I even mow the yard with the FEL & BH attached.
Why go to the expense and aggravation of R4s that turn to racing slicks in mud and why put up with the hassle of changing tires twice a year for no good reason?

I have just purchased a used T30-142 Befco "Till-Rite" Tiller and now I need to find an Operator/Maintenance Manual for it. I have downloaded the parts/assembly manual from the Befco site and have requested the operator manual from Befco but have not heard from them. Anyone have any ideas where to find a manual for this unit?

I don't think the BX uses a true R-4 tire. The R-4's on the larger models were designed for 7000+ pound skid steers and that is why the ride is so terrible when mounted on a 1400 pound CUT.

I too have had an R-4 tire come off the rim due to low pressure. It takes tire shop equipment to get those puppies back in place.

On my 4115 I found I couldn't get the pressure low enough to get any significant improvement in the ride. As a result I just changed to a different tire. If I had to go back to R-4's I would most definitely put tubes in them and run about 5-8 PSI.

On my BX I found the real culprit for the "active" ride had more to do with the small size of the tires reacting to every rock and twig I encountered.

Lowering the pressure on the BX tires will help somewhat. Forget the pounds and just let air out until the tread lies flat on a hard surface and there is a little bulge in the sidewall.

Do this with the equipment you are going to use in place and you will get the best ride possible given the small tires you have.

Murf, I checked and there are two airstrips slightly closer than Hillsboro but they are both private. Landing at Hillsboro shouldn't be a problem. Hope you find time in your schedule for a stop here.

Here if you don't install the door for an open area it must be finished with ability to withstand hurricane winds on the inside walls. With door, only the outside walls.

I am not up on the F250's but it sure does sound like a speed sensor either on the transmission or at the wheels. In many applications called the VSSB or vehicle speed sensor buffer which is typically mounted on the transmission. The VSSB typically is configured to send a gathered and conbined speed data signal to the speedometer. Might be worth taking a look in this area.

Lift the seat forward, look for a cone-shaped coil spring at the rear of the seat support mounting plate. The switch will be loacted eiher in the center of the spring or to the side of it. The wire haness conncets directly to the switch. Voila!

I can't say that I've put one behind one yet but let me explain what I would reccomend. Behind the 22-24 version my preference is the 42" Kuhn for best job with the least amount of travel over sale soil. It is a good load and I'd recommend no more. Kubota only offers a 40" but as much as I trust Kubota for safe recommendations and knowing what works best I don't like their tiller as well as the Kuhn because they offer a slip clutch. That makes a big differencein stoney ground to a more effortless job. Pick your make but I believe in Mass you have a few stones but maybe not in your area but a slip clutch is nice, if you have Cape sand still don't try a 36 with 40 or less prefered.

They do not have the ability for mutual destruction. No way to deliver the goods to America except by terrorist. So they do not fear nuclear weapons, never mind their muslim beliefs. Depending on the situation and your blades ability to rotate, rotate the blade and push it over the low areas, thus helping level them before the tractor gets to them.

You also can pull the dirt up to the low area and turn the tractor around without rotating the blade and you will probably will still be able to push a good bit of the dirt into the low area.

You did not mention or I missed it but it would appear your tractor does not have a draft option to where it trys to keep the load level, if you do this is the type of work it helps with.

What about trying a fuel injector cleaner first...something like Chevron "TECTRON", "BG 44K", etc. taking into account a reduced ratio into your tank because of less deisel being treated than in a truck etc. Not sure about the injector question as I have never removed them.
