I saw one in Mechanic's Illustrated back in '76 or so. It was in the UK. This type of truck allowed a shipping container to sit on top of the cab and the wheels behind the cab. I could have been a semi-truck trailer too---if that were the case there would have to have been a retractable road wheel which wouldn't be needed if the semi-trailer tires were in use. <br>

In my creative/inventive stage in my life I sketched something like it that had the "cab" as a self-propelled, self-contained unit that turned the semi-trailer box, suspension and tires into a truck once the "cab" connected to from underneath to the 5th-wheel pin. I came up with other ideas that used 4 steering wheels instead 2 with a caster in the back.<br>

To do a search you prorbaly need to use the right nomenclature that fits the UK such as lorry or lorey for truck.

KW: You are not imagining things when it comes to getting better mileage without the "canoshelidtopper". Back in the mid 80's exensive tests were done when canoshelidtopper manufacturers were claiming better mileage. The principle is the cover creates a vacuum behind the tailgate creating drag. Conversely air flowing over the cab as hits the tailgate turns to turbulence and breaks up the vacuum.

Years ago there were "bug shields" that attached on the front of the hood of trucks. What they were suppose to do was direct the air flow over the hood and up over the cab. In some cases, like on my truck, it created a vacuum behind the bugshield and would direct the wind--bugs and all even sand and gravel---down onto the hood. Another side effect was the windshiled wipere squirters wouldn't spray on the windshield but be pulled into the vacuum and onto the hood. What a mess.

Snow plows that ride high up in transit at highway speed can cause a vacuum behind them which literally wants to suck engine cooled air back through the radiator through the front grille. Many a truck has overheated becasue of that. When I use mine, I ride with it as low as possible to the road (DOH! a few times it go too close and I hit a partially flooded roadway and about spun me around--scary!)

I have a room with T & G cedar. One of the walls has them at a 45 degree angle. The others are horizontal. I used a natural min-wax stain on the cedar and then covered it with two coats of poly in a satin finish. I had the boards sanded at the shop to get them smooth. I have Andersen windows and patio doors. They are trimmed in pine. I matched this with a birch min-wax stain for an almost perfect color match. This room is adjacent to our kitchen and somewhat open. We have hickory kitchen cabinets done in a honey stain. This all matches quite well. The cathredal ceiling is done in white to keep it bright. Lots of windows with white vertical blinds. That turned out well. We have a table and hutch that has some light birch stain mixed with a white finish that also blends.

Thanks Murf. I've got to rent a man lift again this year anyway to install some bird spikes and fix woodpecker damage to the chimney so they'll all get cleaned manually. While I'm at it I'll give the expanded aluminum a trial run in a few areas and see how it goes. I really appreciate you calling your client and letting me know what works. The gutter helmet is expensive at $16/ft and I'd really hate to spend $4k on it and have it not work. Another problem with them might be wasps. We have a lot of wasps around here and they would be able to build nests under the gutter helmet where they couldn't easily be sprayed.

As far slavery in the north, the automotive industry is a good example, employees ARE seen as property. 'Nuf said.

And I have never heard of notherners buying and selling slaves. Unless you're talking about the East Coast, then yes like Boston.

Further, it well documented that it was in fact the friends and families of the "africans" that sold them originally. It wasn't as though an american ship pulled into port and then abdcucted them and took thm back to america to be sold. They were sold by their own people.

Great tractor .
I bought my TC 30 , R4 tires , Hydrostat, Fel loader, Mid mount mower 4x4 , $16500. ? If I rememember right .
All 5 foot implements.
I also bought a Tiller , and brush hog and rear blade .
Next will be getting a york rake and maybe back hoe ???
Surprising how close I can mow to the edges of trees, decks etc. .
Look into the full cover insurance for abought $140. a year with financing .
I took mine out for 5 years 0% finance charge for that reason .

get one with a loader and a backhoe. because you know those pesty little rocks turn into boulders in your lawn every spring. I think of it as the money and time I save changing blades will pay for the hoe. and you can make a few bucks digging french ditches and opening septic covers in the neigborhood.

glad you enjoyed your ride. but I couldnt come to terms with spending the extra couple grand for the 2210 against the gc2310 tlb. I had three of these machines in my yard and worked all of them "very hard" for a demo " mr kuboto bx2300, jd2210, and the masse gc2310 tlb". the backhoe for the masse is what sold the machine and the price. and they gave me a 4 year warranty<br>
sorry but I couldnt spend the green on the green machine.<br>
now I have 680 hours on the 1 1/2 year old machine and it still runs as the day I bought it.

We just got a letter fron Sentry insurance company. (We do not have Sentry nor have we ever had that company for insyrance or anything else) They told us that they had a employee that stole information, our (my wifes) info was one of the stolen ID's. They want us to put a fraud alert on her credit reports and to watch it closesly. They said they will pay for any "checks" we need to get to make sure!
What happened 7 years ago,,, My wife had a workers comp claim from her work. She was off for about 2 months. Thats it!!! Sentry handled that claim and never destoyed her info! This world (country) is gunna have probs if we dont start making it madatory for companys to destroy info after a certain amount of time!!!

Land Pride has done a good job for me, I don't use it on the front lawn, just road ditches and farmyards. It would work fine on the front yard but it is too wide to do a real level job. I've got several of their products and all have been top notch. Frank.

As PETERS said, Bush Hog is the inventor of the modern-day heavy brush cutter. You should be able to get a Model 12 (the original) for under $3,000 with front and rear chain guards. Mine appears to be bullet-proof.

EW There are large building with metal frames and small building with metal studds. We have a system that has a space frame which is built out of welded subcomponents. Rather than building the factory in one location and shipping all the steel twice, we were considering making the factory mobile in shipping containers.
I was just making an illusion to the future economy with the factories mobile to look for new areas for tax breaks and cheap labor.
As long as these multinationals can appear ethical they will remain creating sweat shops in the third world. If they could cut the supply line and have the slave labor here they would.
I have had the same problem with day laborers here. I had about 6 young men promise me they would be here tomorrow and never show up. I finally found someone that was reliable.
It seems young people are only interested in good pay and no work. Computer fantacy is there reality.

can't vouch for BX but my L3130GST W/RC72-38MMM which is a 72" cut, has no problem with 9" wet grass and is a monster also and a pleasure to mow with. easy on and off if you have a front loader. very heavy duty deck!!!!!!

Thanks Kirby for the detail on the BH and the price, also clearifying the specifics on the 2520 vrs 2320. Sounds like you (almost) have a nice setup (like me, almost, someday).
My JD dealer did tell me that JD essentially introduced the 2520 in response to a Kubota model - mybe the B2630.....
Anyway, I used to own an old BH on a Ford tractor and had much fun with it......have fun

I paid 29,500 for a new deluxe cab radio kit 60" mmm 300 cx loader 4n1 bucket electric diverter valve r3 tires trust me the extra for cab is worth every penny. If you wanted just the std loader and bucket that would take about 1500 to 2000 off the 29,500.

We have had more rain than normal here in NY hudson valley. But given that previous years have been dry - this amount of rain is just right. Unfortunately right now we are going through the 2 day hot spell. It was 104 and humid in the parking lot where I work today. More of the same tomorrow - then a "cooling" trend towards 90, 85 Thursday and Friday.
