the lever stays put but the the front wheels just jerk and it pops like it tries to engage but can not. I had a small leak in one of the outrigger cylinders and took it to the local equipment guy who will have the cylinder back on tomorrow but is to busy to tear the tractor down at this time, I thought of taking it to A Kubota dealer but I am concerned they may skin me alive, so I am trying to learn all I can as I am a fair mechanic and may do it myself or at least have a better grip on the situation

I've had a Deere MX5 for several seasons, it has given me no problems at all. I've never tried it on 2" brush, that seems a bit too much for any rotary cutter. I've cut lots of smaller brush and smacked quite a few hidden rocks without any visible damage. A realy light duty cutter may cost you more in the end as it too will find the hidden rocks, etc. that may destroy the cutter. Best of luck. Frank.

How often have we seen that posted? The reason is because it is so true. If you don't like the dealer, you probably will not like the machine.

I'd wonder what the hours are and how it ran before the problem arose of not starting. A puff of smoke from time to time tells me of a fuel problem any way you look at it. Have you checked the glow plugs, I don't think they are the total problem as it should start hard without but it still should start.

Thanks for going to all of the trouble for me. When you go to the NH site and do a competative comparison, you get all sorts of extra specs that they don't list. Iguess even incorrect ones...

Now this looks like it has sealed my decision...

I picked up a couple new filters today to get ready to change , both my hydraulic and hydrostat original filters once my TC 30 New Holland tractor gets 50 hrs on it .(2005) ,<br>
The smaller filter for the hydrostat is black . The bigger filter for the Hydraulis is white .<br>
A while back I was told the smaller white US made filters were no good in cold weather because they leaked (40 or lower degrees ?)<br>
Has anyone installed the bigger filter that is white in color not black and had any problems ???<br>
Dealer says only the smaller hydrostat filter had problems and they no longer sell them .

Or use one of the leads to power a relay so that you can turn the lights off and on rather than only on with the ignition switch.<br>

Note the black wire with the red stripe comming out of the loom under the seat. This is one of the two ignition-hot leads in that loom. I then spliced into the tail light lead for the switch side of the relay.<br>

And, don't forget a fuse.

more important than a few dollars is a good dealer. Make sure the dealer has good after the deal service check around to see if he is for real. Does he service his own units. Does he deliver and pick up. Does he have a service dept. with mechnics. What can he do for your business. You will need parts and service.

I have indeed decided now to go with the 2520. One thing I am running into is that it is difficult to actually see one, and even more difficult to see the 62D MMM (drive-over). I have one on order now from a Houston dealer (who had a 2520 but no 62D). Looks like sometime in September before it is all there - apparently Deere is having trouble delivering 62D's to the dealers.

According to the JD dealer I am dealing with, yes - however I am told "you can not use the joy stick to control the loader while using this kit.

This is not applicable to the 2520 - the Web builder does indeed say that. The Web builder also says there will be a mid-mower latch-up kit for the 2520 in the fall of 2006.

This does not make this kit for the 2520 very attractive, IMHO. It would be nice if more detailed information is publicly available from Deere.

This sounds like a completely different situation from the 2520 since you say they added a valve.

There isn't a sensor for the HST. It's only on the Japanese version I think. The location on the HST doesn't even exist. I had intended to put a parking brake warming light in that location on the dash, but got used to checking the brake before driving off, and don't need it anymore.

As to the parts stores on belts I agree with earthwrks. There are often companies that make aftermarket belts for such but they normally will give the machine number on their packaging or at least the ones I have seen do. Sometimes an industrial equipment company will carry a better or heavier line of belts.

I can't speak to the price but for the difference it would be far better to go for the dealer with the best service department and reputation. Did you get better vibes from one dealer than the other? When you buy a tractor you marry the dealer (sort of).

Thanks guys, I will check out the leads. I'm surprised my dealer didn't mention that they handle synthetic since I asked their opinion on which one to use when I was there a couple of months ago. I appreciate your help.
