I had the same thing happen to a tool and cutteer grinder I had sold. I reported it to ebay and they did nothing. I emailed everyone that bid on it. One gentleman emailed me back after he won it and thanked me. They wanted payment wired to them. The grinder was supposedly in London.

Beagle, or anyone who knows, Where is the screen on the suction line? is it close to one of the filters? Also, one of the filters were 12 bucks at the Bota dealer. Anyone know where I can get one cheaper? The other I got at Fleet Farm for 3 bucks. Just wondering if Fram or anyone elsemakes both filters.

Will do. BTW, good call on the need to increase the slippery characteristics of the deck. A piece of sheet metal sized properly and screwed to the deck should fix that right up.

I did some experimenting and discovered if you go to the JD website and click on "Build Your 3520" it does indeed show the prices. If you click on "Build Your Own" it doesn't show all prices and allows you to request a quote. So whether or not you see prices seems to depend on which path you take.

Scottrh, to play around with prices you can use the JD web site to get MSRP and figure a minimum 10% off for a reasonable deal.

Don't blame you on the price but to compare a new Kelly hoe which would start around 6500 and a loader for 3500 it may sound cheap. I would be concerned on the hydraulics as they normally had gear oil in them and they required a lot of warm up for snow removal.

I sell two of the brands that you are looking at currently and had the third a few years back and dropped the line. Not all brands are created equal! I don't care what you might have been told! There are performance differences and there is reliability differences. Why can some move a loader faster and lift more with a smaller pump? A better system with less restriction is a good start. You ask about the engine RPM and the difference, today you can buy cars that turn 9000 rpm with out trouble do to the quality of the metal used! This is the same as with tractors and trucks! Many of the engines that have lower factory RPMs can't handle a higher RPM do to the lack of quiality metal and finish to do so. To turn a higher rpm might also mean the engine is built to a higher quality as they normally are factory balanced like car and race engines. There were tractor engines that when rebuilt at a 4000 to five thousand hour interval that the cranks were worn egg shape because they were built of soft material and would need to be removed for turning or replaced even with out ever having a problem with a spun bearing or lack of lubrication. There are also tractor engine crankshafts that have gone over 30,000 hours without having to be removed from the tractor when being rebuilt. There are differences for sure for a dealer, some tractors need more after sale attention because of poorer quality of attention at the assembly plants just like with cars or anything else.

OK, everyone, thanks for the cautions. Some of this sounds like what happens on Craig's List also. So, to conclude, I am off to actually see a 2520 someplace, as this is the one now very interesting to me. And, look for a note in the Kubota forum about my BX2200 going up for sale (it really is agreat machine, just wanting a machine a bit bigger and want to try a JD.....) Scott

As short as 2 years ago my company still had our SS numbers on our checks. Along with that, was, our bank account numbers etc! After many months of bitching my head off. LIKE, " HEY< ! if I am not at work and you mail my check like you always do, what IF IT GETS HIJACKED? Some one not only has my check but they habe my bank and number and SS number!

I've decided to go for the Farm Tuff dump trailer from Northern. I figure after shipping and adding the hydraulics it will be about $1k total. The price is right, the size is right and it shouldn't be too hard to add the hydraulics. I've got some hydraulics questions but will start another thread for those.

The dealer angle is a good point and one not to ignore. You don't want to get stuck with a crappy dealer that won't take care of you if the chips are down.

You can sometimes get better deals by going far away. But why would your local guy take care of you if you went 5 hours away to save $500?

I replaced the fuel filter on mine, it was so tight I had to remove the mounting bracket and put it in a vise to get it loose. Reinstalled it and the tractor would not crank. I thought I was going have to use your method. But first i filled the filter up with fuel reconnected everything and it fired right up.

Maybe there is a way to keep up with the successess that we have on TP. When we help someone, solve a problem, come up with a method. Like a score board.

Not that foreign and old american iron are the same but IMO, if the lift arms are part of the top plate, then most likely the hydraulic cylinder is cast into the top plate, which should just lift off. The reason for lack of prssure may be due to an o-ring(s) gone bad on the piston inside the cast cylinder. Old Fordsons use to have a wear condition where the piston rod that connects the piston to the lift arms puts a hole in the piston.

You also mentiond 4wd. I love 4wd on my 4310. Oh yeah babay!! My first tractor was 2wd and I would get it stuck or have it slip on wet grass when carrying a heavy loader load. Now with 4wd, I can do more and go places I couldn't with the 2wd. Especially for clearing snow. I love the 4wd. I haven't had to use the loader to get me unstuck yet.

You need to use a synthetic approved for diesels. Check the posts as there has been a lot of discussion on the oils, pros and cons. Delvac 1 is propably the best of commercial oils. JD and Kubota brand there own. Most of the synthetic oils are 5W-40 or better and can be used year round.

Your tractor is an open center system. The 3-point hydraulics are not external to the tractor(the hydrauics that actuate the 3-point lift, so you wouldn't see hoses. are you describing a remote system that is already on the tractor?

The best way to run a remote circuit is from a power beyond port on either an existing valve or the hydraulic block on the tractor. All four way spool valves require 4 ports to operate. In - out - and two pressure work ports. With an open ceter system, you need to make sure you don't dead-head the pump, or use exhaust flow to try to run a circuit.

Take a look at our pics. The remote system on this tractor is run off the FEL PB. The plugs and hoses are all run under the tractor, and up along the drivetrain.

If you can describe exactly where the 3-hoses that come from the back of the tractor are that you were describing, I'm sure we could figure out a circuit that would work for you.

Doesn't sound too bad to me. If they're giving you the loader and mower for $4000, that means $12700 for the tractor...That's about what I paid for my TC29 with standard transmission in 2000.

If that is their first offer, they could probably do better.
