Ken, I have been using Amdro on fire ants with mixed results. On some ant mounds the ants will pickup the granuals and take them inside the mounds and the mound is wiped out in about a week or so. On other mounds the ants just ignore the granuals. It works, but not always. On the stubborn ant mounds I use Orthene WP or you can just sprinkle the powder on the mound.

I guess we'll have to stick to using Ken & Kenneth to keep it straight, LOL.

I tried it by fluke once, we were asked to loan a tractor or two to the local Lions Club for a parade float. They promised to make sure it was returned clean, and did, right down to Armour-All'ing the tires, LOL.

We didn't keep it up, they did seem to shed dirt better than the other tractors on the same job for a while afterwards.

I have heard that rumour about the stuff too, but since most of them are nothing more than some silicone oil and a UV inhibitor and few other miscellaneous things, I really can't see how it could.

I have a buddy who is really into the old cars, he has a Model T that was his Dad's, he has kept those skinny little tires (because they're hard to get and $$$$) soaked in the stuff for the 15 years I've known him, they haven't deteriorated any yet that I can see.

I try to ignore my wife's cat as much as possible. Prior to the marriage the cat was used to laying anywhere she wanted, including her bed. Well cat hair and my nose do not mix so the cat was banned from our bedroom. But in the middle of the night I would hear the damn thing padding around on the bare wood floor. In the middle of the night when it's otherwise silent those cat steps sounded like drumbeats and when I can't sleep, I GET ANGRY. So I got out of bed and saw a dark lump in the middle of the floor. I knew it was either the cat or a small pile of bricks (we were in the middle of building a fireplace). Again, I was SO ANGRY I didn't care which one it was and kicked that darkened lump with my bare foot.

Thankfully my foot connected with something soft which then went flying across the room. The cat doesn't come into our room anytime anymore. Funny how that works...

I failed to point out something that was coved by others here...the right dealership sales person is often the one who asks a ton of questions first. Maybe even to the point you think none of your business, Not who starts off with well this baby is only....

My opinion the right sales person could be worth at least that $1,000 but guess what I do...But the wrong tool (any kind of purchase for that matter) at any price is a bad buy.

Bulbs have really declined in quality as production has moved offshore. When GE made bulbs in the states they had much stronger filament supports and filaments than the stuff they sell now that is made in China. A visual comparison between old and new tells you all you need to know.

SG/KT: Awe come on guys, there's nothing like living in a FEMA trailer. Before the storm I used to think that I wanted to buy a travel trailer, you know, for weekend camping. Well, I gotta tell ya after 10 months "living" in this 30' Can-dominium (I've got a slide-out so I'm living the high-life), it gets old. And no, I'm not looking for company, neighbas. :) But, I am looking for 2 more 3/4 ton trucks and trailers to haul my stuff to high ground at a moment's notice---any takers?

I have replaced the left tail light blub on my tractor 3 or 4 times in the last two months. Don't use it much at night but on road about dusk so like it working. I have used at least 2 different brands purchased from 2 different stores. Yet after just a few minutes they stop working. Don't really looked burned out but they must be as I can hook them directly to a 12 volt source and they will not work. Yes, I have verified the bulbs are 12 volt for my 12 volt system. <br>

The light fixture has place for 2 light bulbs but only use one. Guess the other use is an option I don't have. In trying to figure out what is going on noticed the area around the other bulb socket is busted. Looks like it is allowing a little dust into the bulb area. I have not found any moisture in the fixture or really much dust. It is hard to believe dust could be blowing the bulbs as I have seen tail lights on trailers and such run for a long time with a broken lens.<br>

ahhh yes i do know what you are getting across, i am or was looking for the best for my new toy, i thought (still think ) that full synthetic is the best, i pay $85.00 for 5 gallons, what does the n h oil go for and for the joe home owner price??? and is it synthetic or reg...????
thanks all for all the input, dont want to be pig headed, if any or everyone uses the n h and has had awsome luck . i will use it, same for about any other oil that is "highly" recommended,now dont want to start

a new tread, but what about the engine oil????

thanks arrow, i couldnt read the rest( not a full member)but i found a 2003 tc29 with a new belly mower for 11500 with 100hrs on it, wish it had a loader, if there are any other deals let me know, a buddy is looking for the same,,as always thanks

A friend of mine is looking for a loader for his 1954 , 420 John Deere . If anyone Knows of one in the New England area let me know. Does anyone know what loaders will fit this tractor , that mght help in locating one. <br>

I agree with Art. But if you have something that really needs to follow the land you may have options such as adding wheels to the equipement like a finishing mower uses.

Years ago Ford tractors lifts never held a load level. For field cultivation that was a problem. So the local farmer added skids that were adjustable and let the plow slide along very well on them. Work so well other brands of tractor owners used them for convenience.

These are the main Brackets only. all you would have to do is use 2 or 3 chain links and nuts & bolts. You should be able to look them up on JD Parts.<br>
Guys like Rankin could probably explain them to you.

Like any polymer resin or coating the structure and additives will make the difference in in use performance. I have seen poor/cheap powder coating and excellent on the same assemblies. Alot depends on the applicator, prep and materials. Likely they sent one part out to one house an the other to another.

Powder coating is not really any better than old solvent paints, it is just a solventless method of applying thick coatings in a single application.

In real extreme conditions I have used the flame sprays which react with the metal surfaces and like these. Newer powder coating are also reactive at the lower temperatures or under UV light and I hear these are good.

Is it possible to widen the rear tires on the L3400 � I ask because I�ve driven the L3130, B3030,and New Holland TC33 ... of those the L3130 felt the most stable to me.<br>
I think that�s because it�s so much wider than the others.<br>
I think I would be interested in looking at the L3400 if I could get it to sit as wide as the L3130.<br>

The JD 990 is just a tad lighter than the L3130 however it seems to have great deal more HP ... Just one of those things that made me go HMM <br>
