thanks i will check that out..i did not see a grease sert but maybe i overlooked it..it looks really simple where it hooks up( actually it really looks to simple} anyway maybe i can clean it up, thanks for the info

If you listen to ancient scholars, they say the language used has been mis-interpreted to mean virgins. According to them, the actual interpetation is along he lines of a paradise like having plenty of free fruit like grapes. To a bedouin living a nomadic life in the desert, that would be paradise. The castors on my MMM don't always turn when I back up. It's basic physics and how the castor is loaded. If the wheel is perfectly aligned with the direction of reverse travel, then there is no force to cause it to rotate is it's in alignment with the vertical axle. When the wheel is slightly out of alignment, a moment arm is created causing the castor to rotate. As long as the moment arm force exceeds the friction of it's bushings, it will rotate.

Clear as mud? I tried not to be overly technical but it's easier to explain when I have a napkin or envelope to draw diagrams on.

I have two local (within 50 miles) Kubota dealers. Neither one uses Kubota fluids.

I had a BX and an RTV and both ran better and sounded different on Super UDT than they did on other fluids.

Can you call the dealer and find out what type of fluid they use in the shop? Might be a place to start.

For my slip clutch, the manual states:

Prior to initial operation and after long periods of inactivity, the slip clutch should be 'run-in'

a. Tighten all 4 nuts uniformly until the spring load is low enough that the clutch slips freely with the PTO engaged.

b. Loosen nuts to original position. Clutch is ready for use.

The Kubota valve for the tractor thru the wholegoods dept is a complete kit including levers and hoses and ends to match the original design. To price the valve only thru parts dept is possible but more costly like every other thing built.

lock: The depth of the filler tube doesn't matter so long as it isn't plugged or restricted at the bottom--oil, like water seeks it's own height. Based on what you said I feel it is a venting issue. I'd check that the filler cap vent isn't clogged with dust and wetted with oil. Also---and this is a biggie: depending on the position at-rest of all hydraulics and accessories the level in the tank can vary vastly. This is due to the volume in the cylinders which depends on which side of the piston the oil is at the time of checking the oil level. Some cylinders have large rods like on a loader; these types have much more volume of oil behind the piston versus the rod side which may be very little. That missing oil has to go somewhere---the tank. Conversely, check the oil with the cylinder retracted, lift the loader and oil gets pumped into the cylinder dropping the level. You have to find a happy medium when checking the level--so you may to raise and lower, crowd/uncrowd the dipper stick and open/close the bucket at different postions to get an idea of whre "full" actually is.

Any good hydraulic seal and gasket supplier should have what you need. I got proices to rebuild 25 year old backhoe cylinders and was told $350 and up each! I decided to take them apart and couldn't believe how simple it was to do it myself, not to mention the low cost. It cost less than $24 for three cylinders! Best thing to do is remove the gland/nut pull the piston rod out, put it in a vise and remove the nut that holds the piston. Take the piston--seals and all--to the seal supplier and they will help you remove them in the proper order, and maybe give you advice on upgrades to the seals etc.

Murf and Ken are 100% right. I got a King Kutter 4 years ago and is started cracking at critical structural points. The gear box has been bullet-proof though. A good quality one is going to run you 2-3 times the cost of cheapy. I use mine commercially so I'm not easy on mine one bit (hence the cracks). So my advice is: if you're going to tear it up, buy a cheapy. Wnat to get alot of life out of it and will go easy on it spend the money. Either way you go be sure to keep the underside clean of grass buildup otherwise either one will be a hunk of rusted sheet metal.

Thanks for the information. Kubota Corp. replied to my email and said the numbers were 97897-13290.
My dealer said it would be about $60.00.
I have not used Kubota service manuals in the past, but, the service manuals from Honda for our motorcycles were worth the money.

If everything on the inside is working properly, it has to be your PTO clutch disc.,either out of adjustment or it needs to be replaced.If you are going to test your PTO do not use your hand, we use a 2x4 and hold it against it while engaged.Let me know if we can help you with adjustment or parts

My house was done in PEX. But it's a modular job so it made it much less likely to have issues when the 4 sections were transported to the site and placed on the basement. Also easy to hook up to the main supply.

We have had many mice and a snake in the house with no issues that I've uncovered regarding critters chewing on it. Seems to work fine but the place in only 6-7 years old.

DenisS - yep, I bought my first 1/2 torque wrench for the tractor. That's what got me started. Then needed torque wrench for rebuilding kohler engine. Then for torqing new water pump on my boat.

All of a sudden in my 50s I am in torque heaven!! I just can't stop torqing anymore. Its outta control :)

I have it on very good authority that a L4310 zipping through long grass with a bucket full of gravel will take out a similar sized stump without even stopping.

I also have it on the same good authority that the seltbelt leaves one heck of a set of bruised hips afterwards too!!!

Which is far better than stress-testing the tempered glass windshield.....
