Well, ncrunch can still use a soft aluminum washer to gauge the torque on his oil-drain plug - no worry about breaking or melting there.

Trying to find a good use for your torque wrenches.
The CUTs do come with torque specs for all the bolts (have to be questioned in light of comments by earthwrks), maybe that's where you can put them to use. I understand you have to check all the bolts every 200hrs or so.

The code on ours is 97897-13400. Most manuals are expensive to own as they are not printed in large numbers like a book.

I don't know what make "haybine" or mower conditioner you have but we normally put 4"x8" on all that we sold and that is what the manufacturers recommended. There are some that come with them built into the units today but they are normally double units on each side.

You are right about having the HD cutter vs the lighter one as you might not of only bent the steel but the gear case may have been a fatality too!

A couple things come to mind. #1 Are you using the fluid recommended for the hoe? The recommended fluid should have an anti foaming agent in it. #2 Could there be water in the fluid? #3 Is something causing the fluid to be hotter than normal? Maybe this will give you some things to check. Best of luck, Frank.

Yes, he likes his FarmTrac 360. He has had no problems that I am aware of (has somewhere around 3 or 400 hours on the machine).

Good point on the backhoe, especially if you are acting as the GC or have a contractual relationship with the GC that allows you to help reduce costs by doing some of the work on your own. One thing to think about is that a tractor with a backhoe (construction type) usually does not have a PTO and comes with AG style tires. If you have a farm and plan to use a rotary mower or post hole digger, you will need a PTO. If you want to use the tractor for mowing near your house, you may want turf style sires rather than AG tires. I actually made money buying a bulldozer, using it during construction (which saved the subcontractor cost), and then selling it for more than I paid for it. I also bought a front end loader with a land leveler at the end but lost a little money on it. In the long run, however, I saved a lot of money by owning my equipment.

You may want to think about your tractor in this fashion--buy a larger one you need for construction, complete your house, and then sell or trade it in on a smaller tractor you need for your finished place.

Not sure how a RFM gear box is any different than my MMM gearbox. I have the moweraxles and they are great for maintenance and storage, have not had any leakage from the gear box either.

My brother and his wife have a Honda four door with about 140,000 miles on it, and an older Acura Integra four door with 250,000 on it. (Expedition is parked for those Sunday outings...slurp slurp)

They recently decided to check out the new Honda line up as well as the Acura line up, very impressed with both. However, after doing alot of research, found that they REQUIRE either 91 or 93 octane to properly run. This seemed far fetched as one could imagine, hence the research.

Apparently what happens, is that by running the lower (87) octane, it will take considerable longevity off the cat converter, valves, etc, and over time adds up to big bucks lost.
For the most part they are similar cars, as Honda is Acura's Momma, however, one comes with timing belt, while the other comes with timing chain, just as an example. Again, though similar vehicles, quite different at the bottom line.

They are still contemplating which to get. I saw the pics on their digital camera - darn sporty looking machines.

In either regards, with the postive expereince and success that they have had with the two previous, they undoubtedly will stick with one or the other.

I had the D250 model...needless to say a bigger brother to the D200. Mine was a gear shift, and to be quite honest, I had never heard of a HST version of this beast, only gear.
The D200 - yes.

In my manual for the D250, it points out that the transmission requires SAE 90 Hypoid oil, 5.5 quarts. The Hydraulic system, requires HD SAE 10.

I do not know whether or not the D200 has a common reservoir, as being a HST or Automatic. On the D250, it has a separate tranny fluid reservoir vs. a hydraulic reservoir. The hydraulics was a Bosch pump and holding tank, about the size of a coffee can mounted on its side.

I hope this helps you out in the interim of recieving your manuals. If not, I am sure that your local Toro/Wheelhorse dealer can tell you what oil is required still.

One of the problems with three point hitch decks is replacement parts as they get older. Some might become popular enough an after-market company might get on the band wagon and build them, others will just go by the wayside. BMB has been around for a while and I'd think your local dealer should be able to find them for you. We did just hit some problems with a customer trying to find a new spindle for one and no one seems to know what it is. He bought it at an auction for a very reasonable price like new for condition and although it looks like a TSC they say it isn't.

I haven't seen a deck yet that would mow as well in reverse as in forward do to design. It doesn't mean that it can't be used that way.
