the tractor is brand new with 5 hrs use. checked the fittings which all seem tight. I take it there should be no dischnage of hydralic fluid period.

Everything in earth quake zone is copper or PEX as they will flex. My brother is a plumber in B.C. and he and I did the house in PEX. With the proper banders it is easy and inexpensive. The garge is PEX and parts of it freeze every winter. I have 3/4 run from the house to the barn and all over underground with no problems to date.
I was suprised by the ease of installation. I ran the pipe around the parimeter of the 60 X 45 garage with out a leak. Certain not what would happen with copper or PVC.

Joe -

I have a Koyker 60, or I guess it is a KB60, depending how you look at it. It is several years old now. I also have a Woods 650 backhoe. Both are set up for three point self contained use.

What I notice, is that the Koyker sits lower on the 3pt arms than the Woods unit does, thereby allowing less clearance under the hoe at times.

Both real decent machines...weight wise, the Koyker comes in at about 600 lbs, where as the Woods is a bit heavier at close to 1100 lbs.

I have a different brand, but my fuel gauge is way off too. You'll learn in time how usage you get for a given amount of fuel.

In my pickup, when I neglect to change the fuel filter, the truck starts acting sluggish and underpowered. It requires more throttle, etc.

I have started to email to others (including my buddies at the INS) the second website reference, the one it talked abou the Mexican States as the focus in the U.S. that was a strong reference and made me realize some crap about the Mexicans and it explained why Fox' govt was helping the Illegals and even his military. It made the whole picture come clearer. The story about the School that had been taken over was also interesting. I left So. Calif in 78 cuz I hated the Illegals and their dirtbag attitudes. If I had my choice I would issue M-16s and 1000 rds to every Southern Californian and say "Open season on Wetbacks, and there is a $500 bounty on each one, happy hunting" For the liberals that read this, they may think I am a nutcase or a bit extreme. Well let them live in Southern California for awhile. Let them have A Coyote and a garage full of wetbacks 50 feet away and watch them fling their garbage out the kitchen window and into the ever increasing pile of filth. I never liked Mexicans and I hate illegal Mexicans even worst. Am I prejudice? YES! I am, and I openly admit my prejudice.

I agree completely. eBay is a good way to get prices. It's sort of hard for a non-dealer to get tractor selling prices any other way.

The Farm Tracs are made by Lucky Goldstar in Korea. They are one of the largest, if not the largest, corporations in Korea so they aren't going away anytime soon. In other places in the world the tractors are sold as the "LG" (for Lucky Goldstar). If you look at the front of the tractor you are considering buying, you will see the "LG" crest.

I went through the exact same exercise that you did and wound up buying a used Kubota. With the LG, the weak link in the chain is the importer, Long Agribusiness. Nothing against the tractor, but Long has been through one bankruptcy already and now is majority owned by a company from India. I looked at Long, Kioti, Century/Branson, and you name it and finally decided on either a Kubota or JD because both have dealers and service available within 20 miles.

BTW, I found my tractor by following classifieds here and on the the other competing tractor website. Found a trucker over on the ytmag website to deliver it 800 miles at $1./mile It was an internet sale and everything worked out fine.

GST stands for glideshift transmission. It is simular to the powershift transmissions used in farm tractors. The earlier ones starting in the late 80's were an eight speed transmission and the newer ones are 12 forward with 8 in reverse. You don't need a clutch to shift up or down at all in either direction. There is little power lost to shift compared to the hydro's although the hydro can do as much if not more then any configuration of gear type transmissions.

I just picked up a Zetor Zebra 2040 with a mower, box blade, and post hole digger. It is a fun little machine! I'm amazed at how stable it is. I'd like to add a front end loader. Could you tell me what model your KwikWay loader is? Also, could you tell me how it is mounted? Do you have any pictures of it that you could send?

Also, I would really like to get a copy of the manual you were referring to. I would prefer the electronic copy but I'll pay for postage to ship, if needed.

I agree with DenisS--it's wood. It's gonna check and crack, and warp regardless of banding, storing or covering. The wood used for these 4x4's is not the best since they're used primarily for fence posts and deck posts. I remove wooden fence posts for a friend's fence business with my TC33D and a box blade. Every post is different---I've sheared some off clean at the grade, some pop right out with no problem, some splinter below ground.

IMHO, you'd be better served preserving/maintaining the posts/fence AFTER it's installed. That's where you will see added life.

To me it doesn't make sense expending a lot of energy caring for something that grew in the ground and is going right back into it only to be resubjected to the elements. Kidding now---it's like protecting a pile of mulch from the rain.
