As long as you aren't hogging on the blade hard with a grinder you won't put tons of heat in them. But then I also wouldn't grab the fresh ground area with bare skin right after grinding. It will be hot to touch, but not hot enough to affect temper.

The main thing is to try to take roughly equal amounts of material off each side of the blade so the balance remains about the same. I've heard of some guys on this board using a hanger or nail in the bolt hole to check for balance.

I need to sharpen my MMM blades. They get dull when you run over lots of gopher mounds. Sigh... just something else that needs doing.

I noted the hydraulics not working after a drive chain on my mower jumped off. After re-lacing the chain, I was going to back up to recut, and tried to lift the remote hydraulics on the swather. I then tried the front loader which is also fed by the Remote Hydraulics lines to find neither worked.

I found that the power steering and lift arms are both fed by the same pump, but prior to what they call the Remote Hyd Control Valve. Connections before it work, after it don't. I finally accepted my fate and pulled the Control Valve yesterday, and have a guy looking at it today. I'll post the results of his testing.

I knew a farmer for him the tractor was the today's tanning bed. When I saw him in just his boxers made me be sure to give him notice I was drivng up next time.

Our summer sun did prompt a fair amount of early morning and late day work. That was when men was men and their hp was horses amd mules.

LBrown is right when he says the red dye has no effect....

However, there is a bunch of differences other than just some dye.

Most important amongst them is the level of refinement and the levels of certain components. Although it is changing to meet newer EPA requirements, off-road diesel is much highher in sulphur than is road fuel.

To a diesel engine sulphur acts as a lubricant to the pump and injectors. In fact when they first came out with low sulphur fuel a lot of people had to rebuild/replace their fuel system because of the premature wear caused by the lack of lubricant.

New vehicles have this already designed into the system and can run fine on the newer fuels, but older systems still need a good quality additive to ensure they get proper lubrication.

This has come up before.

If memory serves, that O ring is there to keep the paint out of the real seals during the manufacturing process and has no real use after that.

You will not see an O ring in that area on any other tractor.

I was told to fill the filter with Hydralic oil prior to installing to ensure not to put any air into the system.

Is New Holland back at Ford? Did Ford not sell them to a foreign company years ago? Is it FIAT that now owns New Holland and Case?

I am not familiar with your chipper but some with the Ford 3000. It is hard to believe if you are using a normal pto shaft to connect the chipper and unless you really do something greatly out of line, there would be any problem on the tractor end.

That tractor model has run a many an offset rough cut mower in my part of the world and the shaft runs at a sharp angle on that.

Now, will the bearings on the chipper handle the same angle? I don't know. But, can you not adjust your lift and stablizers to have the pto shaft in a straight alignment?

Yes, my CASE DX25E (identical to the NH) does as well! I wonder if the hydraulics and control unit for the FEL, which are on the right side of the tractor, contribute to the lean? My lean is very slight and only noticable when its on a flat concrete surface (the garage). Otherwise I am extrememly satisfied with this tractor, so versatile and loads of torque.

Clean off the unit with an air nozzle instead of a garden hose if possible when done, about once a month grease the deck and the tractor. Adjust the deck wheels to just off the ground at best for long life.

sounds like you paid for a drilled well. If they only went six foot in the rock and set casing and you have a static water level. The casing isnt sitting down all the way on the rock and its acting like a bored well thus the problems when the water table falls. Seen builders raise the casing up off the rock to make well look better than is.

Some tillers are made to be offest for just that purpose of covering the tire tracks and to give you some pass overlap. Aside from that, refer to your owner's manual, typically in the back it will show overall sizes for everything. Short of that, the CUT mfg. may have a web site page showing specifications too. Hope that helps, if not, I see a journey in your future :)

My first post. I recently got a Kubota L3600GST with mid PTO. It included a Kubota loader and rear box blade, and I would like to add a finish mower. <br>

Anyone know which Kubota mid mount mower would fit my tractor? If I can't find the "correct" Kubota mower at a reasonable price, is it much work to adapt a mid mount mower from a different model Kubota tractor? Or should I just get a rear-mount mower? <br>

My lawn is about 3/4 acre, with a few small hills and chicanes. I wouldn't need a huge mower and a large rear mount mower might be difficult to maneuver in some tight spots. I could mow the more difficult areas by hand though.

They claim 1/4 the weight and 100% more power. I am not sure this is the same engine I was thinking of. There was another design using a Geneva wheel that uses a slightly different placement. This is out of Australia also.
The other engine was tied to Jack Brabham as with the page below that describes the air/fuel injection technology. The orbital technology is similar also.

I live in south central Louisiana. Most of those that advertise for bush hogging or mowing of large fields do it by the hour. Average rate seems to be around $25/hr with 2 hour min. A compact 25-35hp tractor with a 5-6' mower should be able to do close to two acres per hour. If I figure my Jinma 354 consumes at least 2 gal of diesel per hour thats $5 per hour in expense just for fuel.....so the potential profit is slim. But someone who paid $4000 for a used tractor & bush hog rig can do it and come out ok and thats who you are competing against.
