I have been in that area and is it fairly nice, a bit flat for my tastes. I am not sure what land prices are like. They are fairly reasonable in northern Indiana, but I am not sure in that area.
I know what you mean about moving. I am looking at a position in Toronto next week. It is right down town at U of T so open land is a scare, for about 60 miles in all directions.

News flash, in most cemetaries crosses (along with all sorts of other things) have not been allowed for some time now, never mind banned in the future!!

It was the not some whacked-out Liberal Judge that banned them either, it was a far more insiudious threat ... greed.

Most cemetaries are "for profit" ventures, and believe me when I tell you, VERY profitable they are indeed!!!

So much so that I have been hired twice now to convert golf courses into cemetaries, and I couldn't tell you the number of parcels of vacant land, owned by the owners of golf courses and others, bought as an investment, I have turned into cemetaries because there was more money to be made that way than by any other (legal) use of that land.

So, why ban crosses? Simple, if there are no readily distinguishable signs of anything, then nobody will see anything they don't like.

If you don't belive me, just call around to some of the cemetetaries in your area, most now have a "flat marker only" policy in effect, in other words the grave marker must be flush with the ground, not rising above it at all. This also means they save money in maintenance costs since it's easier to cut the grass, and they don't have to worry about resetting stones that are leaning or toppled over, after all, you can't charge dead people anything can you?

Just to give you an idea of just how much $$$ is involved here, an average cemetary has about 1,000 graves per acre, and prices today range from about $1,000 (good luck finding one) to as much as $5,000+++ (for premium places in big cities) and seem to average about $2,500 in most places.

So, 1,000 sites x $2,500 / site = $2,500,000 per acre, fully developed and sold, a 100 acre cemetary could generate (from sales of plots alone) $2.5 BILLION.

That BTW, does not include income from the sales of markers, hosting funerals, or performing cremations, whcih could in theory triple that income.....

Have you thought of using voltage converters that run off 12v car batteries? I considered using a generator for my construction company for running 9" grinders, 2hp compressor, and a 5.5 peak hp shop vac (not all at the same time). I ended up buying a 3500/5500 power convertor off e-Bay for less than $200 and installed it under my truck's passenger seat (it's about the size of a large phone book). Having this setup is very handy--I even run my electric impact wrench off it for road side repairs, or for camping.

I might throw a new pick up coil in it. Each manufacture use a different name, but they are the Hall effect sensor that replaced the points.
As they are basicly an electromagnet with hair fine wire they can be intermittent in their problems. I went down the same road with an 80 Volvo I had, replacing all the plugs etc. I measured the spark and it looked good then tried to start the car the next time and nothing. In this case the spark was weak and the car would start eventually on one or two cylinders. Once warm it purred like a kitten. Once I changed out the coil it was perfect. I was as frustrated before as you sound.

I forgot to say that I've got turf tires and use chains. I had to make spacers for the wheels so that the chains would clear the fenders.

Thanks for the tip.

I have finally made a decision on what to do. I have ordered an inverter (tig) from a local shop. I got a chance to putz with one, and found that it would suit my needs quite nicely, at least for the short haul - perhaps indefinitely.

Now I just need not be so anxious for it to arrive. (dealer was out of stock of new units at the time, so I needed to order it). Then, I will get to play with it !!!!!

i already have the generic top link replacement from tractor supply. the threaded portion is much thicker than the original kubota one i need parts for. it seems to fit fine. i did have to grind a little off for it to fit into the bracket on the tractor.
still looking for a replacement part to restore the original top link to service.

The 11.5hp model has 6.5 gallon hydraulic capacity. For a little extra money I could buy the 12.5hp model and get 9 gallon capacity. I'll only be splitting 4-5 cords a year.

The towing limit is 45 mph and it looks like it would indeed get quite bouncy at that speed. Fortunately it would only be towed around the property. There is no need to travel to get wood, we're surrounded by it.

B-20's came with three point hitch that would work well with a tiller. Their hoe attaches four point into a frame that extends back from the loader and doesn't hinder the ground clearance like typical subframes that hang below the tractor. There design was as a mini commercial digger and if you are having trouble with ground engagement you will have to step up quite a bit in size to enhance performance.

Hey Guys why not container pool. I just bought a JM354 etc etc but with Backhoe and loader and mower. Also bought 15kw generator etc etc Asked around the neighbours they wanted stuff too so I filled a container. Its not hard. Tractor cost $4600 in your dollars ( I'm in Australia )Picked it up on a friends 23 footer truck $100 fuel. Laughing. Took 2 of us 8 hours to put everything together. Never done it before. Yes a couple of parts missing but they are being sent over. What else was on the container? Heaps of fire fighting pumps, generators, small engines and pressure washers to clean the tractor. Everyone is happy except the ones that missed out!! Keep up the postings great reading.

From anothe rmessage board , I see that this is a hydrostatic tractor. I believe ther is a hydraulic pickup screen & a tranmission screen. If cleaning them doesn't help then you probably have hydro problems , which can be expensive.

I bought my 2006 3520/4wd/hydro/300cx/72mmm/rear scv/ that was 6mo used/200 hrs from Cross implement in Minier, Illinois for $20000 and the dealer (Brad Cross) gets another unit every 3 to 4 months. They are rented to the school system to mow, and take care of baseball diamonds. Mine is like brand new. This tractor has so much power, you can't believe it.

If it's like my blue, it can't be bypassed as it's part of the injection pump assembly (but the solenoid itself can be removed but fuel would pour out).

Brought the limbs in today. The Cornell extension person called home before I got there and told my wife the disease is NOT needle cast. It is "spruce gall adelgids". Treatment is to clip off bad branches and spray a few years in a row with either horticultural oil, insecticidal soap, or cabaro. The disease doesn't kill the trees - just thins them a bit and they don't look their best.

I was going to say lets see how much free crap these countries offer when they have to defend 'themselves'......Not to mention, the unemployment rate in many of these countries is much higher than our....and I've hear it can takes anywhere form 6 months to 2 years in canada just to get an MRI....yeah hillary....national healthcare....sure..good idear!
