Thanks Murf, I spent some time on the phone and found a 1902 close to home. The guy I called has one on the shelf rebuilt. The place I took the engine charged me over 700.00 to tell me the engine was junk! well I already knew that. And then told me the cost to rebuild was going to be 7000.00. I think were going to be boxing. So I have a 1902 engine, thanks for your help.

Sure, it should be able to do all that. I have a TC30. Mowed 15 or so acres, tilled two acres and enjoyed doing it. It will take a little time cutting 10 acres with 5 ft. But such is done by many. Just know that it will take most of the day going into it. The price must be about right. I was shown such a TC29 before I went with the 30. Its price here in GA was close to yours.

On the dual exhaust side. If it is cat back it will not give the tone desired. I would think to gain anything you need to have 2 pipes out of the converter like the stock systems. If you only Y the system after the converter all you have is the look of dual exhaust.

Tubes clear? I am really guessing based on looking at the tubes I can see at the top of the radiator with the cap off, looking at the condition of the coolant removed, and noting the lack of any significant build-up of debris in either. Although the drained coolant was not clean looking, neither was is it deep, dark, murky and subsequent flushings yielded nothing unusual. Could be wrong! Thanks for the idea. One step at a time....

That would be your top link.

A subsoiler pushes agains the top link. When you are lifting a load you are pulling against it but with some implements they do push to some degree against it.

A single shank subsoiler really will. So you could bend it. I would not think you would bend a good quality Cat 1 unless you really hit a load unless there is no shear bolt. I don't think a Cat 0 toplink would be a good choice. If your tractor has Cat 2 linkage I would use a Cat 2 toplink if the subsoiler will accept it. Normally the top link hole in the implement will tell you what the manf thinks the load will be. If the subsoiler does not have a shear bolt or pin you probably should use a undersize pin in the top link.

It just occurred to me you may not realize what a shear pin or bolt is. If you do please forgive me. But most subsoilers will have a bolt somewhere in the design that is small that will take the shock load by shearing and let the plow ride backwards and up over such as stump or large rock. If the subsoiler you are using does, and they are not shearing someome may have used a higher grade bolt they are suppose to.

I have 148 hours in 23 months, that averages 77 hours per year. I do mostly mowing, some box blade work, and wood lot clearing. No commerical work.

That's a fair price, not fabulous. I got a CK20 with FEL and BH for 14800 but mine had 28 hrs on it (trade in).

I am looking to buy lawn tractor and have a couple of questions. 1. What opinions do people have of this tractor(quality, durability, able to mow on a hillside)? 2. What would be a reasonable price for a used 2005 model with about 50 hours on it (my buddy has one he is trying to sell - it originally came from Art's Store in Waterville). Thanks for the reply Art. I sounds like this was an option on the tractor but there are probably no parts/units left avaiable to do the conversion?

I know nothing of the Kubota line so can you suggest a set-up that could be swaped? His attachments are, a loader, snowblower, roto-tiller, and a rake used for leveling the driveway after mud season.

I mow my lawn up and down and then left to right and that helps to spread the shavings, in addition to giving a cleaner cut.

I listened to the Liberal NPR this morning and I was astonished to hear some of these interviews.<br>
They interviewed a young lady who was 14 and her mom was a Dental Tech and was living here illegally for 18 years. Let's see, right there is a Good job, kid in a Public School and so forth.<br>
11 Million estimated illegals and as one guy said "they will take us over without firing a shot" 11 million is only a conservative estimate and could go much higher. They talked about the jobs that people didn't show up for, I would be happy with many of them. They talked about 70,000 students in one City alone not showing up. WoW! We need to really do something quick, these demostrations have really shown us that we are NOT just talking about Stoop Farming.<br>
11 million consuming fuel, electricity, Health Care, Social Security thru SSI, Consuming goods and perishable items as well as fuel products, Education System, Jobs that Our Legal, Unemployed AMERICANS would love to have, Homes that the people from N.O. could live in and not be an extra burden on the rest of the taxpayers, crimes, Enforcement, Prisons and the list of the impacts just goes on and on. So why does McCain/Kennedy and others want to legalize these people? Why do we allow them as illegals to demand anything? what is wrong with us? Why aren't we sending their asses back to where they came from? The majority do NOT WANT to be tolerant so why isn't something being done?<br>

Your experience reminds me of first use on a Case tractor a few years ago.
First bush hogged my pines, one oil filter and refill. Good it blew oil where I could see it to shut down engine quickly.
Second bush hogging job there bent left step. Straighten and back to work, there did go right step.
Thrid bush hogging job there went hole in left rear tire.

By then I believed the hardest work you can do to a tractor is with a bush hog. As Ken said walk the property if you can not see safely. Watch for holes also. I think we think our tractors are built like logging machines, they are not.

The engine maintains power and revs but the tractor just stops moving forward as if the gearbox or clutch is slipping.
The workshop has told me the head gasket on the engine needs to be replaced and this could be the cause but I am sceptical as the engine seemed to be running fine except sometimes a bit hard to start when cold.
It is due back at the end of this week and then will see what happens.
Anyone have any idea what the recommended grade of gearbox oil is?

Install a 2500 psi pressure gauge in the hydraulic line to check the pressure. The pump may have been damaged before the key sheared.
