I've seen landscape companies in my area using a piece of equipment called I think a Harley Rake. From my brief research online they look like they start about $4000. Are they really worth that much more then a reqular rake for getting your yard ready for grass.<br>

If this the front or rear? Neither have the brakes attached. Front seals are common problems. Is it under waranty?

Have a t-020 1950 massey ferguson, the drawbar/grader blade works great. But when the front loader was put on this spring, the hydraulics will not lift the bucket. The loader was taken off over the winter. Manually you can lift the loader and it will slowly go down. The hydraulic fluid has been checked and about 3 new gls put in. The hydraulic system trys to lift the small bucket but just can<br>
fully lift it. Where might the probems be?<br>

Murf , they have a 1954-55 farmall super h with a huge woods deck 60 " has 15 tires on the rear ,its got to be every bit of ten foot long !, looks like something the state uses on the sides of the road ,plus the pto on it looks bigger and woods told me that it needs a least 25/30 pto hp to run correctly ,the problem is that they would like to get rid of a couple of tractors and get one to do it all , Craig.

I am considering buying a used JD4310 that has a 430 loader and a 47 backhoe. It only has 400 hours. It is a 2001 or a 2002 model. Does $17,000 seem like a good price? I have used it before doing construction work in housing areas. It is great for working in small places. However, the 47 backhoe downrigger cylinders have become weak and will no longer raise the back wheels off the ground without using the backhoe boom to help out. Also, the downrigger brackets have been bent a little. I am guessing from overworking the backhoe.

Amercians have a very short "attention span" and with that "Memory' which is suppose to be used for comparisions, is also rather short.
Let's look at Russia, during the Nikta Kruschev era, there was a pact with Mexicon to attack the U.S. thru its Southern Borders, Hark, Hollywood took it and made the movie 'Red Dawn".
Many feel, well ole nikta is dead and gone and the Berlin Wall has come down and Russia fell apart and therefore te world and the U.S. can sleep. can we?
Why did Pres. Reagan push so hard for Star Wars? what did they know then that we seem to ignore and not want to beleive today? The key for a secure defense is to stay One Step ahead, if they have long range Nukes we put Defense Satellites in Space, when they get into Space we put a base on the Moon, if they go to the Moon, we go to Mars etc etc etc. We need to stay One Step ahead in order to neutralize any threats. Now Iran, China, Russia, Pakistan and soon India all have a Space Program.
In the last few weeks, even tho Iran is being defiant and daring the U.N. and threaten the world security, Illegal aliens are flocking our streets and War Protestors are marching. This is WORST than the 60s because the Americans at this time are TOLERANT and can NOT see past their noses. They will listen to the Illegal Aliens and strike a deal, they will lookat the Dumb Ass Liberal War Protestors and as in Vietnam strike a compromise. War is NOT about compromise it is about seeing it thru. Once you strike a compromise the Dead become a number and not a part of a cause. We need to get Our backbones back and I remember when Pres Reagan gave it all to us and we used it. Now we seem to have a Wishbone where are backbone should be, we all stand around waiting for someone else to make the move. Yet! the crude are taking to the streets and we watch. Why aren't WE who stand for Honor, Courage, Pride, Morals, Integrity taking to the streets? why do we alsways JUST SIT and watch everyone else so we end up feeling like we are the minority? Hell! we can at least write our Senators, I have sent letters to each and everyone I know of and not just my own.
Lincoln once said "United we stand, departed we fall" Wow! are we close or what?

Well then you are not looking at a TN70(DA) you you are looking at a TN70(A). If that is the case then I would look else where.

Well that was my last shot with JD backhoe. Monday I'm ordering a Taylor Pittsburg backhoe 3 pt attachment. $4300 delivered and with the money saved, I'll either buy a subframe from JD and modify it to fit the backhoe or fabricated one myself. Their lost.<br>
BTW they had 6 of those #48 backhoes on pallets :-( .

I just purchased a MT1601D 4wd tractor with a loader. Is there any reason why I cant invert the front rims so I have a little more stability using the loader. Does anyone have any experience doing this.<br>

Are you trying to make up for wear? If yes, then the easiest and cheapest way is to build the leading-edges up with hardfacing welding rod. My Case chain-type trencher (which is for sale) has cup-type teeth on it that are hardfaced and they are extremely wear-resistant.

They used to be a collaborated effort. The made the articulated and the xx80 series farm tractors for New Holland. It is actually Buhler Versatile. They still make tractors today and have improved greatly over the years to be a very respectable unit.
