I hooked a sub soiler to my Kubota L3400 that was used on a Ford 2000. The shank appears to be too long for the L3400. Is there a sub soiler with a shorter shank designed to fit the L3400 or what do you suggest? Thanks!

You must be refering to a B-7800 and for the size lot, I'd be centering on the 7800 not to say that the 3400 couldn't out work one. The front mounted option of the 7800 for a snow blower or belly mower might make a difference of versatility.

I recently purchased a new L48 kubota. I want to treat it properly. 1*My question is it ok to burn pump diesel which I think is # 1 or 2*should I get a drum so I can get a # 2 Fuel delivery (which I assume is home heating oil)
3*as I am not able to purchase it in small Quantities.

2*Diesel and home heating oil are the same thing. Another name for home heating oil is fuel oil.
3*Why can't you buy it in small Quantities.

#1 and #2 are not 2 different things it is a winter and a summer blend of the same fuel

Probably still too much work taking everything off around the rear of the engine to remove the driveshaft at that point of connection.

I have since learned of someone who disassembled the rear universal joint on a 2210 to provide the clearance necessary to pull the splined end of the driveshaft out of the transmission and replace the fan.

Supposedly took just a half hour to do using this approach.

There is a range of safe tire inflation and it is based on the load the tire is carrying. Read the door panel on your car or pick-up. <br>

I am not suggesting "under-inflating" the tire. I am saying there is really no reason to carry a full 60 psi in those load range D's if your 2000 pound, empty weight trailer, is unloaded and each tire is asked to support only 500 pounds instead of the loaded weight of 1750 pounds each.<br>

When my flatbed is unloaded and running at full tire pressure, only the center 1/3 of the tread will even touch the ground. It cannot hurt to deflate a bit just so you get the entire tread width to engage the road surface.<br>

Harvey, You are right in suggesting new belts and checking the variable sheave. I might add that if the center sheave on the variable pulley does not move freely, to try and work it back and forth by hand while spraying penetrating oil on it. That usually frees it up pretty well, but be sure to clean all oil from sides of sheaves before reinstalling belts. Also check for excess play in sheave. The bushing in there sometimes wears out. This allows the sheave to get "cocked" and it wont slide properly. my old 1963 110 was still working great when I sold it. Only needed lubing the sheave about once every 2 or 3 seasons.

Yes I use my tractor for mowing (the lawn and the field)
No comercial use.
Now that some of my larger tractor projects are finished I look for my yearly hours to come down somewhat from 190/year to around 130 to 150 hours per year

Talking to your dealer is great, and I agree with that. But what's even better, is a real, hands-on demonstration. See if your dealers will let you rent one the way you want it say, with a loader for example, for the weekend. Let them know up front that you are doing some serious competitive shopping and you are about to make your purchase decison. Some may let you use it free, some may not. My dealer let me rent a used skid loader for $3000 a month. At the end of the month I returned it and decided to buy a new one. He didn't charge me a dime for the rental, and even gave me a $8000 discount on a new machine. SO my suggestion is if you decide to "rent" machine for the weekend pay the man and let them decide if they will waive the fee if you buy from them. If not no big deal---you still got the work done.

I have a NH 1530 which is hard to get the hood released. Once it releases, it lifts quite easily. Any suggestions?? How do you put air in the rear tires when they have fluid in them? Mine squirts fluid even when the valve is positioned on top according to directions in the manual.

I appreciate all your help. You "guys" are full of great suggestions. Thompson; I went to the powertrac site and I was impressed, but am worried about maint/repairs with no local dealer. I do have a 3rd stall. I have friends that moved here when I did and she has one gelding currently being boarded.He may end up here and they would then help out some, but they also work and have a new baby.Iowa; I've noticed that some of the MMM's seem to stick out beyond the tires. My ground is flat and open and I put in 14'gates to the pasture areas, so no trouble there. I may only need to remove it for winter if I went with the MMM. I have a small yard to mow and 3 acres of pasture. With only two horses and irrigated grass, I think I will be mowing fairly frequently. I like to keep my pasture under 6" height, hoping for lower sugar content. Horse Farmer; My barn is small. 36X48 with a 12' center aisle and 4'stall doors to aisle and to the dry-lot paddock. I do use a wheelbarrow/muck cart to clean the stalls. My horses use the stalls as run-ins and are seldom locked in.The narrowest gate I have is to my paddock runs just off the stalls and is 10'.AV&R; I will definitely check out the dealers. Hughes will; I think I would adjust to a rear mount mower, but I do have some "brain" issues with the MS. I can't back up the horse trailer using the side mirrors as I did as a kid...it totally disorients me. I have to turn around and look at what I'm doing. But I shouldn't have to do much backing up on this property, I hope!

I can't speak for BX's, but most of our fleet of Kubotas (mostly L's and a few M's) live outside for most of the year, always have. In fact they are often operated in rain too.

We have never had any issues with moisture, other than once when one got caught in a flash-flood.

I didn't want to say it Brokenarrow, but you are right: they are really glorified---and overpriced---lawn tractors.
I even get snide comments from my customers on my "little" TC33D, which really t's me off. When I tell them, or better---show them what it will do, they change their perspective (like pulling my 5-yard dump trailer fully loaded with 15,000lb. of sand and concrete down a gravel road). The other day I pulled my buddy's travel trailer around the yard with no problem---he cautioned me that I would at least need my 4x4 diesel Ram because his gasser 3/4 ton Chevy pickup had a tough time pulling it---ah ha! There's the problem right there: it was a Chevy! LOL)

Over two thirds of ours go out without block heaters and I've had them starting down to 25 below without the block heaters plugged in. But I still prefer them! The box blade is just a big piece of metal and it has to be welded well. You might find a difference in the material of the shanks as well as the points that should be attached to them. Make sure the rear of the shank support is made well as that is the most common failing point. With a blower you eliminate banks so the wind has less effect on the snow in your yard. I'll take a blower over a blade or loader but yet feel a loader is more a year around tool.
