I'm sure Horse farmer is probably right about mid vs. rear mount mowers. I have a rear finishing mower and no MMM, and when going around things I have to twist 180 degrees to make sure I dont' take out something on the back end. You might look at the smaller JD 2305 which really looked nice to me.

Wow, a TC33 couldn't lift the front end off the ground with it's loader? This is effortless for me with the JD4310, 430 loader. Isn't the TC33 a 33HP tractor? DO I have something wrong here?

I agree with Mark, gasoline (or most solvents) are really not very good for direct skin contact.

I spoke with a friend who does a lot of land clearing. He swears by his method, hand cleaner, the kind WITHOUT any grit, it is formulated to do exactly what you need with PI, strip any and all oils from the surface of your skin.

He keeps a container of it and a roll of paper towels in each of his vehicles. He says it is the fastest, most effective way that he can use in the field. Besides, if you get caught without any, the nearest auto parts or Wally world type place has shelves of it.

I can't speak for BX's, but most of our fleet of Kubotas (mostly L's and a few M's) live outside for most of the year, always have. In fact they are often operated in rain too.

We have never had any issues with moisture, other than once when one got caught in a flash-flood.

Chipuren, it would be interesting to know whether a CUT is used for mowing and whether there is any commercial use on the CUT.

OK - too late now - that is just the statistician talking in me :) It seems the numbers coming in are fairly consistent for a high level assessment.

I didn't want to say it Brokenarrow, but you are right: they are really glorified---and overpriced---lawn tractors.
I even get snide comments from my customers on my "little" TC33D, which really t's me off. When I tell them, or better---show them what it will do, they change their perspective (like pulling my 5-yard dump trailer fully loaded with 15,000lb. of sand and concrete down a gravel road). The other day I pulled my buddy's travel trailer around the yard with no problem---he cautioned me that I would at least need my 4x4 diesel Ram because his gasser 3/4 ton Chevy pickup had a tough time pulling it---ah ha! There's the problem right there: it was a Chevy! LOL)

Over two thirds of ours go out without block heaters and I've had them starting down to 25 below without the block heaters plugged in. But I still prefer them! The box blade is just a big piece of metal and it has to be welded well. You might find a difference in the material of the shanks as well as the points that should be attached to them. Make sure the rear of the shank support is made well as that is the most common failing point. With a blower you eliminate banks so the wind has less effect on the snow in your yard. I'll take a blower over a blade or loader but yet feel a loader is more a year around tool.

I don't have one here to look at but they are either in the drive axle or on a jackshaft near it. If in the axle they would be more costly to repair in labor then if off an alternative shaft.

thanks treeman, but go to the starting message -- new batt, etc. It cranks AND starts fine IF the solenoid gets pulled by full voltage. Even started at 15 below this winter.

I'm now 99% sure it's a high resistance closure at times in the neutral safe switch. ALWAYS starts with my "bypass switch"

Thanks for the reply. I have been tearing my hair out trying to decide how much tractor I really need. I have a new place with 15 acres of woods with overgrown pond, cedars and pines,etc. Lots of willows to remove and the small trees are going to go. There are some old cars and stuff to move but I could rent big equipment for that. I have about 600 ft. of gravel road to maintain as well as the need to dig hundreds of feet of french drains. I will need snow removal in winter. I also have a duck club that I need to mow tules on and occasionally take out or put in a duck blind or two.

Do you think I would be better off with a smaller tractor? Having looked at all of the tractors I just like the way NH is set up. Easy access to everything, great setup on the rear and it "feels good" sitting in it. I also feel that parts and service would be easy to come by. I would buy a kubota or JD if I found a great deal I guess.

I receive this magazine at the office and would recommend it for compact tractor owners. My subscription was free, I don't know if everyone can qualify for a free subscription. It has a lot of toys for the big boys.

Ken, I believe it is probably NOT a sealed battery. It is maintenance free - but does have 2 caps across the cells that could be removed but are not meant to be removed (they are not screw caps). The the guy at the JD dealer told me it was sealed but I am not sure he knew what he was talking about. In any event - I have not had any problems with corrosion yet, I think that the climate here must have something to do with it.

To be honest I have never heard of them. Depending on how big of a tractor you are getting the top after market loader would be ALO. I installed many of those and have yet to see a failure. They are very Strong and have many options to customize it to your needs or wants. (By the way I am not affiliated with them in any way, no longer work at the dealership either.)

That blade fits the G-1800-2000 chassis tractors and is listed as an economy blade. Sold for about 300 new.

It takes a lot to bend a Kubota deck not to say that I haven't seen it. I'd also be looking at your hangers being sprung after what you've been mowing over and in knowing the deck in question I'd wonder how many decks you might have replaced if it was another brand!

I bought my TC33 partially based on the fact that I could get super steer. I had driven an older Ford farm tractor with super steer and thought it was great. I have over 700 hours on my TC33 with no problems. Sure the front of the tractor moves the opposite direction slightly when first turning the steering wheel. This problem is easy to get accustomed too.

In addition to the tighter turning radius, another advantage of the super steer tractor is the longer wheel base which results in a smother ride.

I purchased my TC 33 with ag tires. My dealer tried to discourage this saying the ag tires would tear up the grass, but this farm boy just needed to have a 'real' tractor. A little common sense has resulted in no turf problems. When I go play in the mud, I am glad I have ag tires.

You need to go back to the axle and correctly adjust the bearing preload. There are a series of nuts to accomplish this. Tighten the nuts until you can start feeling the bearing chatter and then back off slightly until it feels smooth. This will eliminate the wobble (unless the bearing has totally fail and fallen out of the cage). If there was any undercutting from the old seal, the new one won't fare any better. Install a Redi sleve to provide a new wear surface.
