there is a solenoid for fuel cutoff. it is a plunger, that when pressed in, will cut the fuel. (rmember the engine is Desiel......)

ncrunch, there are several companies that make used oil burners that are small enough for an area like a garage.

Yes, some people do blend used motor oil into furnace oil stocks, it's not a great idea though, the few dollars you might save in oil could be more than eaten up in repairs. Furnace oil is very light, and the nozzle and pump contain extremely small orifices, the debris in used motor oil could easily clog the system, even if the filter got most of it.

Aside from being illegal, other uses of used motor oil are again, just not worth it, used oil is just that, used, it's also full of debris, heavy metals and all sorts of nasty chemicals.

I was wondering if there was a problem, there has been zero contact with me lately about the RTV.

Up until last fall I would get a call a month or more with my Kubota rep. telling me how badly I needed an RTV.

Strange though, the RTV was supposed to be existing hardware in a new configuration, maybe there was some design short-comings in the operating parameters.

I'm getting ready to sod my yard and cover the mud... I'm laying a lot of grass to reduce snake cover, make a nice place to play, and offer a bit of a fire break.<br>

Up till now I've always hand-mowed with a small husquavarna mower. I've got a finite amount to spend, around $2500 max. Should I buy a mid mount mower for my rather large 4330? (Does a MMM even fit with a BH90 backhoe subframe on it?) or should I buy a big box (cub/deere) rider or ztr. I doubt I can afford something with a real dealer...<br>

I've designed the landscaping to have a minimum of areas that I can't reach with a rider of some-sort. I like the thought of only maintaining and storing one piece of equipment, I'm thinking some sort of lower end rider might fit the bill better, rather than tromp around my grass with the R4's and a big tractor. Plus save hours on the important toy.<br>

Along those lines, any suggestions on a 'budget' mower? I know you generally get what you pay for, but I don't need brand name green or orange if the mechanicals are manageable. I'm handy, is there a jinma equivilent in a wide ZTR? :)

check out the Woods BH80X backhoe. It can be equiped with a thumb that you can use to move those logs. Pinching the log between the bucket and boom is tricky and is asking for damage. We sell the BH75 and BH80X for about the same price.

bloggins..... I am probably being a bit unfair to you and I don't wish to make you feel unwelcome here.

I did note that you mentioned Red line Oil so you are probably not our usual Amsoil spammer type.

We get a lot of drive-by Amsoil dealers who swoop in whenever someone starts a thread on oil or lubrication and some of them are real zealots and downright religious about it.

I have had good success with Red lines diesel additives but I have never tried their oil, mostly because it retails around here for $8.00++ a quart.

Anyway, Art White finally got my attention on the power output vs. the oil rating thing, so I am only focusing in on oils that are formulated (and advertised) for off-road/Ag use where we run our engines at full power most of the time. This, as opposed to a car or truck engine that mostly loafs along at 30-50 percent power.

Anyway, I have read everything Amsoil has put out for the last 26 years and read everything offered by Red line. Both seem to formulate diesel oils for cars and trucks and not for Ag/off-road use.

Just throwing in my 2 cents about toyota tacoma mileage, I have a 2001 toyota tacoma extra cab prerunner v6 automatic I also have the trd package so the larger tires so it looks like the 4x4 but it isnt since I have never needed the 4 wheel drive to get out or do any towing, I have towed boats, I had a car trailer 18 foot and towed a 69 nova, camaro and several cars on it without any problems, I dont recommend towing this much weight but I have done it several times and it towed everything down the road without any problems,As far as miles I have 68000 miles I run all synthetic oils, transmission, rear end ,and engine oil, The best mileage I have got on the highway is 22 mpg going around 60, when I go around 72 to stay with traffic it gets around 20.6 my all around mileage is around 19 since i am on the road a lot so hope this helps.

Here are some thoughts I've been kicking around concerning lights on rops.
1. Use two lights rather than 4 lights. Mount them on a light bar that will swivel the lights up and down. I install the lights on the bar in a manner that will permit the lights to be rotated 360 degrees. The 360 degrees allows you to have light to the rear and front or both to the front or both to the rear.
Use magnets to mount the brackets for the light bar to the top rear edge of the rops instead of on top of the rops or under the top of the rops. Next bolt the ends of the light bar to the brackets with one bolt through each bracket into the bar.
Tighten the bolts just enough to hold the bar in place but loose enough to move it by hand. The swiveling light bar allows:
(A) Allows adjustment of the distance the lights shine out from the tractor.
(B) Gives more clearance above the lights and more head room under them.
(C) Lessens the chance of catching the lights on something overhead.
(D) Allows the lights to flip down if hit rather than breaking them.
(E) You can just flip the lights down to work under low hanging branches instead of having to remove them from the rops. However you still have the option of removing the bar and lights and unplugging the trailer connector.
*Advantages of the 360 degree rotation *
(A) Permits two lights instead of requiring 4 lights, thus reducing current flow.
(B) Lights can be turned both to front or both to rear. Or they can be turned one to front and one to rear. They can also be used for side lighting. Swiveling lights can provide illumination 360 degrees around the tractor.

Adjustment from one position to another is instant by hand. No wrenches or tools required.
A low profile light preferred over high profile lights.

I've been using this system of combining a rotating light bar with swivel mounted lights to install fog and driving lights on my pickups successfully for years.

More thoughts on lights.
Use a dual direction light with a clear lens on both sides that will cast light to the front and rear at the same time.

Thinking about experimenting with a hanging swing light magnetically attached to the cross member of the FEL to illuminate the bucket shadow when using the head lights.

I would not disconnect the head lights but would run the extra lights connected to the key on side of the ignition switch and a separate switch in the line between the connection and the lights. You could also use a switch for / on each light if you desire to control each lite separately.
The reason I prefer going through the key switch is because you can't forget to turn the lights off and run the battery down.

I use a 10 AMP Fuse.

would anyone have a used 580b loader lift frame for sale that is not cracked or been welded, seems that hydro leveling cylinder cracks most, also need that cylinder, part numbers as follows, lift frame case D-55343 and hydra-leveling cylinder case G-33558, also need right rear fender case D-49696, if prices are reasonable might travel in northeast area, I live in southern new jersey.<br>

My C174 is struggling to climb mild gradients and even on flat ground will not drive forward when put in HIGH range. It has a HydraStatic gearbox with just 3 ranges, High, Medium and Low. Even in Low range with the 4 in one loader and a carry all tray on the back but with no other load it cannot climb a very mild gradient that I feel it should be able to do.<br>
Am I asking too much? <br>

have 1500d and have no load lift on ft end loader. had to remove spool value to have it repaired now the is no lifting power under load. lift goes up and down , dig and dump work but uned load nothing. replace the sher pin in pump as it was shered still nothing any help would be helpful

By "holding it up" do you mean it's a flexible connection at the top link? If it is I would just use a piece of chain. Worse-case, use a piece of steel barstock such as my King Kutter brushhog came with.

Generally, the HST variable displacement pump is directly controlled by the pedal(s). All they do is chnage the angle of a swash plate inside the pump. Ususally the pedals are directly connected to the swash plate shaft (SWS). The SWS inside the pump is pressure lubricated. Typically there is a lip seal around the outside of the SWS and from there the pedal assembly connects to that. The first place I'd look is the the supporting pedal pivot or bearing surface--might be a bad, missing or rusted pivot. Also, if it's like my New Holland and it has cruise control, there is a mechanical linkage connceted to the pedal that holds it there with an electromagnet that slides against a steel surface--might be rust build-up on that sliding surface (when mine gets rusty it will make a "squealing disc brake" sound when I go from forward to reverse. After awhile it goes away, sort of.)

I have a NH 1920 with a 7308 loader, I can have mine off in about 2 minutes if I am not distracted. I would like to know if anyone has mounted a bobcat type quick detach plate to a 7308 to change buckets easily?
