Just took a test drive today. Man is that a sweet tractor. IMO, I like the fact that you take you foot of the hydro and it stops. I also like the fact that you can brake steer.

I have a pole and guy wires on my land, right near my house and it holds a transformer and gives me the pwoer to sit and reply to this post. If there wasn't a guy wire, i would probably have a pole in the attic. I have planted a flower graden around the base of the pole and out to the guy wire, I do NOT mow around it, use to, I actually weed whack around the wire and mowed close to it and around the pole, I have worst obstacles with the trees and their roots, but have no plans on cutting them down either.

I was reading a News story awhile back where some Black Leader (maybe Jackson or SHarpton) was bitching that the jails hold more Blacks than Whites. He never spoke the extra words to really complete what he was insinuating which was clearly, The courts are against the Blacks. When he was finished it was revealed that Blacks commit more crimes against other Blacks than Whites do to them or to themselves and the jails had more because it was probably because they did more to get there.....
As long as people are willing to feed these ridiculous claims they will be around for a long time to come. Look at the Native Americans...(see) they were hunted and shot for fun. Yet how often do you hear them complaining and they live in the worst poverty? Did you ever hear of Cowboys and Negroes? Or any childhood game that involved hating Blacks? Me either.... we had einy miny mighty moe which was the only thing I can recall about blacks that might have been bad, but I would have on two six guns and a Cowboy hat and my day was most always riding my broomstick and out hunting Indians.......... Today I have the Greatest of respect for the Native American... Can't quite say the same about the Blacks, not as long as they muster under the likes of Jackson who has gotten his fortunes for threatening big companies, or idiot Sharpton, let them muster around the likes of Powell or Rice and they would have an excellent chance.

I've recently been introduce to Kioti and am considering opening a dealership. A couple thngs have come to my attention that concern me: 1) I've read that there is a pending lawsuit between Kioti and Kubota. Is this true? 2) What should I know about this product and do you think it wise to opn a dealership for this line?

SG, I'll check the 10' x 10" if you can tell me what type of wood it is, (ie southern pine). THe allowble stresses vary quite a bit between species.

Remember we are doubling up the girders at the center, so we sould have a nominal 20" depth where we are doubled up.

The other problem with wood structures is "creep". Wood tends to "stretch" over time when under load, so we want to stay in a low stress range. Otherwise your bridge will have an ugly sag in it after a couple years.

Se if you can find out what type of wood the 10" x 10"'s are, and I'll check them. They will probably work.

I found an oversized filter wrench for the suction filter at the local autoparts store. Good thing I did because my suction filter was also on very very tight.

There are two for the glow plugs but I'd count on the grounds being the problem more then the switches. Check all grounds on the engine as well as the chassis.

IMHO I would not use any type of oil vegetable or otherwise. Vegetable oil can disolve or soften paint and remove decals and/or the print on them---especially when exposed to heat and sunlight (some brand-name liquid soaps such as Murphy's Oil Soap are made from veg. oil). Next time you're painting with enamels or latex paint, or working on the tractor try washing up straight vegetable oil and water. After eating some snack foods, touch a newspaper and watch the print come off.

I feel for ya Tony. My dealer back home 1,200 miles from where I'm working in Mississippi just didn't want cooperate with me to send me some pressure backup switches that both failed on a $40K skid loader. Service Manager and Parts just didn't feel the sense of urgency I was under to perform for the Army Corp of Engineers cleaning up the Hurricane Katrina mess (no backup alarm, no work). No one wanted to go to bat for me and talk to the owner---it was much easier to deny me the much needed service---even telling me I could find a local dealer. I asked for the owner (read: I don't take no for an answer), and after stating my case (and recalling that New Holland bought back my other skid steer because of problems with it) he had them overnited to me the next day directly from Case-New Holland service parts at no charge to me. Five minutes to install the new switches and I was back in business --literally.

I bought a 3120 for less than 25K with a 300 CX loader and a 261 finishing mower. I've been really happy with the tractor. It's 29.5 horsepower. I added options like rear hydralics and a mid-pto not that I'll ever use it probably. I ordered the bigger tires too which I think might come standard on the models that have more horsepower in the 20 series tractors. I saw at the dealer yesterday that the JD folks seem to be selling a 03 series in the same line / size range that is more utilitarian w/o rubber flooring like the 10 series and 20 series, more like a blend of the 790 and 990 and 20 and 10 series. I just picked up a 5 foot rear blade to complement the loader so I'll see how it works.

If I can think of anything else I will let you know. The reason I brought this up is that my garage was turned the wrong way and I was going to have to put the washer and dryer in the back yard. The plummer and the concrete people never got the updated plans. best of luck.

A point here is the lenght of time it has been out of the water. The amount of rusting inside probably would amaze both you and me. I would think 24 hours would be sufficient time to allow water into the complete engine and hyd system. Are you sure no one tried to start it since then? If they have you may have bent and damaged parts.

I'm in western Fairfax Co. Byrd Tractor in Manassas (where I bought it) will take it on a trade, but trading is not as good a deal as selling on my own--same as with used cars. Better to sell it, and apply the proceeds to the new unit.
