I don't know where exactly you are in N.Va, but if you're willing to drive West a few miles there are a number of tractor dealers in the Warrenton and Culpeper areas that will trade on used machines or sell on consignment.

I've got about 3 acres, mostly flat w/20% trees,& have been using a 42" 16hp lawn tractor w/hydro. I'd like to get a ZT mower but can't spend the $5-7000 that most of the commercial brands run. I've seen some Cub Cadets at TSC for about $3000 and wonder if one of these would work or would I be better off spending the same amount on a larger, more powerful lawn tractor? Does anyone have any ideas or recommendations about these or any other models?<br>

I guess it depends on your local dealer to a greater of lesser extent.
The Kioti were sold through an import company, but they set up a direct dealer support system a few years back. There are now 3 or 4 distribution centers and they theoretically have all the parts required in stock and can ship over night. The DK line has been reliable, but they have sold less of the 65 than the 35 and 45. They are not the same frame.
I like the cab on the Kioti.
The MF is an older design and has been reliable. I also have the info on both and have considered both. Personally I think it comes down to local support, ie dealer. I would check with others in the area and see what the reputation is.

Tinker; I said in my first post that the relief (safety) valve may be out of adjustment as Murf just confirmed as a possible.
In your subsequent description the other thing that comes to mind would be the binding of one of the gear shafts in the range transmission.
The load on the shaft is reversed, in reverse and it may not have the play in that direction.
How much difference is there between the high, (medium) and the low in forward motion? Do you think it is binding at all in low?

If you get a builder and go over the plans and make pen and ink changes make sure that the builders sub contractors get all of the pen and ink changes. That way they will all be on the same page, literaly. Good luck.

Speaking of their women, how could you love someone and treat them the way the muslim women are treated. Their actions are the exact opposite of the word love. They have no concept of belonging, or peace. I am for pulling our military out, put the war money into development of another energy source for heating, vehichles, and such. All the Muslims in the world are not worth one american life. We have the food so let us support the ones that support us. My FEL is down to bare metal almost all the time, however everytime I need to paint something that will fit in the bucket, I use the bucket as a spray booth and that at least keeps some of the bucket coated with paint. Granted my bucket right now is green, orange, black, and touches of white, but I like it better than the rust.

I got the one that's produced in Midvale, Idaho. I called up and just ordered it using a credit card. I finished putting it together last night and did two test shots. It makes a good bang and really moves the ground. I want to collapse the tunnels to keep new gophers from moving in. That's been my problem. I kill them off only have someone move in and keep expanding the tunnel system.

Unfortunately, supposed to storm here today so I won't be able to work them over tonight. I have fields so full of gophers that you can walk across just on the mounds. It's that bad. So I'll start in the immediate yard and then work further out to create a buffer zone.

Thanks Art, glad to know my FEL isn't desintegrating on me. I'll keep an eye on it. I don't want to loose the lock nut from being loose.

Start with the task. That tells you what implement you'll need. Then ask yourself how big the job is and how fast you want to get it done. A little simple math (or a talk with your dealer) will tell you how big the implement will need to be. From there you can match a tractor to the implement making sure you have a little extra padding on size, weight & HP. Go thru this exercise for all of your anticipated tasks and it should build a picture of the tractor best suited to your needs. Then compare equivalent products across brands and get a feel for the dealer. Lastly, look at price.

Guys, Here's what I do to make the poison dog proof. I built little shelves to screw to the studs in the garage and in the pump house, both high enough to keep the dogs away. I also build little wood boxes to screw to the pilings under the house. To these, I screw one of the poison stick baits. The stick baits have a hole through the center of them, and will fasten down well with a 4" sheetrock screw. It keeps the mice from taking the bait, gives them a little rest to feel comfortable with, keeps the bait out of the reach of the dogs and best of all, kills the little rats. You have to unscrew the box under the house to put the stick bait in it because I screw it about an inch from the studs, but it keeps the dogs out of the poison. You can also slide those stick baits onto wires to protect them. Mice eat it instead of the wires. Can you tell I've put a little thought into killing mice?<br>

I really wish I didn't have to do this to them, but they will pee and crap everywhere, and that I can't take. I was redoing the insulation under the house and bumped into 2 copperheads. They help too.
