2005 tacoma 6cyl 6 speed xtra cab 4wd average 17 and that is mostly highway ..... if you take it easy and limit speed at 65mph and below it gets almost 21

Daniel, I own a Yanmar 1500D which has approximately 18hp with 15hp to the PTO. It runs my 60" finish mower no problems. I've got a 48" tiller which it handles well also. Oh yeah, and the 4WD helps if you're going to use a turnover plow (weight the front-end good). Lastly, I've got a loader on the way!<br>

This tractor is mid to late 70's model and it's been a great tractor for me. You might like a newer model better however as they've made some improvements: powershift transmission vs. gear, a smoother 3 cyl. engine, etc. But for the price, a 4WD and the 15HP at the PTO recommended previously, you can't beat a 1500D.

About the only thing you can use when filling from a 5 gallon can is something like a Filter Funnel. Below is a link to a supplier. I think there are others out there that sell under the Filter Funnel brand name. Do a google search and see what comes up. I understand these funnels work very well at removing water. The pump at the station you fill up your 5 gallon can is already filtered. I think there are some threads about these funnels in the TP fuel, oil, and lubricants section as well.

Got the engine on the Gravely last night. Got her started - that was great but carburator was spitting some drops of gasoline and I couldn't get the engine running right. Tonight I made a float adjustment and she's purring like a kitten. Hooray!

Update.

Due to the warm weather last week (40's and 50's) the weight limits have been put on the local roads and no digging has occurred. This past weekend we got 10" of wet sloppy snow on top of all the mud at the building site, so we are pushed out even further, now.

GRRRR!

Good news is that I Will be picking up my L3400 tomorrow afternoon. I just don't have anything to do with it right now.

I see no one answered your question. The standard Worksaver PTO mixer looks for 25 HP PTO and loaded it is near 1000 lb at least 24 inches beyond the pins. I think you are stretching it a bit with only 16.7 HP PTO and 680 capacity in the up position.
As Art White said the other day (resident Kubota IH dealer), most of the equipment failures are related to exceeding the capacity of the equipment in some way.

I might use the sleepers to form your box. I guess this depends on the cost of the sleepers. You can easily sink the sleeper in the ground behind the wall for support. This tends to be how the highway and local road works do it. I fully boxed concrete tends to hold the water. I find it gets pretty soupy. This is OK if you are cleaning ever few days for 70 cows and loading into a spreader, but not great for loading into someones truck and transporting down the road.

Located a 1995 L2900 in excellent condition with 600hrs, FEL & top and tilt box scrape. Asking $12,500. I've been looking at getting the B7800 new with FEL and BHog for $17,500 and wondered if this would be a good used alternative? The L2900 does not have HST. Also is the L2900 considered one of the Grand L series? Comments please

I own a Kubota L3830 with a Hydrostatic transmission. I was plowing snow that had a lot of moisture in it. As a result is was quite slippery. How do I turn when I need to use the brakes and still keep my foot on the hydro pedal? It appears that tractors with brake pedals on the left side have an edge on Kubota. Any suggestions?

Try speedwaysales.com. They sell both models and have free shipping. If you type in the brand and model names on google you will find other sources. The Redmax has a bigger motor and lots more fuel capacity meaning more weight. The Stihl BR600 has more zip than the Echo (712 vs: 620 CFM) and weighs about 4 lbs. less but has less fuel capacity.

I just got a price quote on a new Kubota B7510hsd and would like an opinion or two as to if it's a good deal. The quoted price is $15,300 (no tax) plus I get a $500 Kubota discount on their 180 day no interest program, so my net is $14,800 plus sales tax. The package includes the tractor, a 60" MMM, an LA272 FEL, a balast box, block heater, R4 tires and delivered to my place (about 25 miles from the dealer). How does that sound tractor people? My other option for a Kubota dealer is about another 100 miles away, and this dealer has a great reputation in our area so I would like to stick with him unless he is out of line.

Is there a retrofit water pump available for this tractor and would one actually work. I understand it is thermodynamic but would a low volume pump work. What would be the best method to resolve overheating. All obvious steps have been taken other than retrofitting something.<br>

The two cylinder is heavy enough. I was thinking of mentioning to him how wasteful his current design is because it has two coils and two sets of points.
I was thinking about it but don't need the blame for his next contraption.

Vulcan Ind. makes a kit that has bigger fuel lines and a bracket to move the lift pump close to the tank. Geno's garage got Vulcan to test this mounting with stock size fuel lines. No difference in pressure. The Vulcan kit is $99 and the Geno's version is $69 I think. It is supposed to give better fuel pressure, put the pump where it was designed to go, and make changing out the pump a 10 minute job. Hope it works. JC

They're pretty durable. I'm cleaning up the Hurricane Katrina mess on the Gulf Coast. Where I'm staying in a travel trailer at a used car lot they sold them here. It was pulled off the foundation and found a few blocks away--sustained very little damage. The 200mph wind pulled it out of the foundation. Then, like my trailer was submerged under 30 feet of sea water for 8 hours. The galvanized finish held up well. By the way, I saw the 5-man crew set a new one up on the old pad in 45 minutes.
