Art, I'm not sure what you mean. The engine would run fine for about an hour - then black smoke would come out of the exhaust and the engine lost power. The exhaust valve looked fine when I pulled it but it is interesting that the top edge of the piston that failed faced the exhaust valve. I saw no other problems other than the top edge of the piston. As the subject says - I am flying blind :).

The plan is to have someone come and haul the manure away. I have compost piles elsewhere on the property, but I cannot use as much manure as the horses produce!

The chains always wore, look at the links well. Ask if they have been changed. I think those were a fixed chamber which means you can only make a full bale. If you are baling alfalfa the leaf loss would be higher then with the belt system.

Now that I have some ATV's, I was looking for a cheap set of ATV loading ramps. Anyone got any lines on good set of cheap ATV loading ramps. So far the best I have found was a set of 84" mid folding ramps from Harbor Freight that cost $59.99. I ideally like to get a set of bi-folding 48" wide and 84" or longer ramps but so far the best prices I have seen on these are $150 and up.<br>

I ordered my jd 2305 friday and learned a new jd 2320 will be on the market soon. Im anxios to get my jd in two weeks but dont wont to shoot my self in the foot by buying one to soon before the 2320 comes out. ANY WORD ON THE NEW 2320.

The smoke at cranking is actually a good thing with these engines. This tells you that you are getting fuel. You should have an indicator light on you dash (orange) that should come on when you are at the right key position and also when cranking. If this is not coming on I would check the fuses. Open the hood and while at the front looking to the back they are on the left side fire wall behind a rubber flap/ door.

You are going to have to remove the tire. That is the easiest way to do it. Then you have to make sure that the micro switch is actually closing some times the metal tab has to be tweaked a little to get this to happen.

I bought a grey-market Yanmar F200 in the UK last year- wish I could read Japanese! Has anyone come across this model I am looking for manuals - owners w/shop or other has anyone any information to help. I have no complaints just would be nice to know if I am missing out on any goodies hidden away somewhere. I should say it is 22/23hp 3cyl. 4WD front assisted, rear PTO, cat1 3pt linkage and novel button control of the 3pt links.Any news or views. Thanks in anticipation. Steve

I am not sure it is still there. I did not buy it. It was at Columbus Tractor in Columbus MS. You can give them a call on Monday. I have no hesitation recommending them.

Your steering unit needs a new seal put in it. The one at the top of the shaft is just to keep it centered in the shaft.

You should do just fine with the ten horse on the 16 gallon pump. Do look for the two stage pump, as the extra speed of the ram is great to keep you from standing around. A self canceling valve is a must to so you don't need to hold it on the return. Good Luck with your project.

It depends on what is causing the noise but if the tranmission needs to be taken apart, it is very difficult to fix.
