Good choice Hilly2. Looks like you got a pretty good price too. I just upgraded from a BX2230 to an L3400DT (thats the gear model) for my larger property. It should be delivered in a week or so. (excited jitters)

I can not believe how stupid I am. This board just may have saved me money again! The dealer told me that if I could not find the reciept, that he would be able to pull it up. He had it on his computer infront of him, but he said he would have to go to the main office and print it there since he was not able to print from his line. He told me to call him the next day if I could not find the reciept. I FORGOT!!!! $160 I was charged for the last work performed and I should get reimbursed. I better get on the ball and get that reciept and send it in on Monday before money runs out!

I have around 150K on my 99 now. After a few warrenty items (the same ones a couple of times) I have had NO problems (knock on wood). A few minor things that you may expect but all in all I plan to drive this guy anouther 100K with or without a new engine if she ever needs it. The brakes were a real problem with me though.

A few more feet for stopping? LOL TRY a fricken half a mile! LMAO. This is true! The day before I got the notice we had a inch or so of fresh snow. A dump truck dumped a whole load of garbage )mostly vegitable scrap like what a grocery store would throw away) I mean a WHOLE dump truck load on the highway. This spanded about 2 city blocks. The ploce had two of the worse lanes blocked off and one lane was passable. I went thru at 4:40 am and had to turn into a gas station to get my coffee. I went thru this area at about 15 mph with garbage and snow! Talk
about crapping my pants! I did not know what was infront of the officers until I was already by them and about to change lanes! WOW I was floored at how I could not stop. I went into the store and pissed and moaned to my girl there about my brakes and how I need a half mile to stop. Also told her I was paranoid to drive in snow now and that I drive like a friggin WIMP! Im getting passed up by every car in the damm county when there is snow out. Not because I dont have 4wd (I do) but because I am so afraid of not stopping! THATS HOW BAD IT WAS! They fixed it and they have not gone off again since then. Of course it only snowed one day since though?

There is a lot of small things that go into a tractor purchase that changes the prices. They are both good tractors.

Some might have more problems then others but within the first half year or 50 hours most all of the chassis problems have surfaced. After that we find that many of the parts sold or repairs are from mistakes. Little actually gets worn out for years. There are variations of the quality of material and machine work used to make it. Like for you to find a worn out Volvo engine in the junkyard! You will find them but not worn out. Their attention to detail means that you don't have to be toying with it or having to work on it to keep it running. I don't agree that it should be model specific in general! Their are companies that always cut the lines just a little close and would you want to buy a new model and to be caught with a major update from a manufacturing error!

I have a Hinomoto 174 (Allis 5015). The draft arm broke and I've had some trouble locating an Allis/Hinomoto replacement. Any ideas if the arms can be replaced with arms from a Massey Ferguson or a Deere? The arm is 24" from pivot to pivot with 7/8" pivot pins. <br>

If you've driven through some brush lately it's possible that something caught on a wire under the tractor and pulled it loose. Been known to happen. Sometimes the wires aren't tied up and tucked away tightly.

Make sure the hitch width is fine and the heights of the three point hitch give you what you need to work. It would be a shame if the plow wouldn't drop in!

As Greg said but the retainer is a clip ring not an O'ring. You may need a puller to remove the drums from the shaft and a clip release tool. They are reversed from a rear brake drum so the shoes can be replaced without removing the drums.

There are no slip clutches used on many of the compacts yours included! Many of the larger ag style tractors do have slip clutches to absorb shock load as well as over load to the drive train. I'd locate the noises location and we can more then likely help solve the problem. Does your tractor have bi-speed turn?

Like everyone else I am learning about this and am not sure what the answer is, put I will try and contribute what I know.<br>
Closed cell foam will provide a tight vapor barrier like PE film. The migration of water through the barrier will be slow at best. They recommend that you fill the cavity so inner and outer barriers prevent water penitration. See link below. This is a company I have been consulting with.<br>
If a house is this tight you need to install an air to air exchanger to clean the air and move the moisture out of the house.<br>
I think you problem is mostly due to the water in the house from paint, new wood, foam and dry wall and the weather. If you did not allow weeks for the drywall to dry and painted it the water in the drywall and the mud probably condensed on the foam. The Gypsum, hydrated calcium sulfate looses a lot of water once it is on the wall. Has anyone considered the weight of a new dry wall sheet and that of one removed in a remodel? I think is it about 1/2 the weight. My dry wall contractor would not paint for 3 weeks after installation.<br>
This is a big continent and one solution does not fit all in building. As Murf states an interior and exterior vapor barriers are required in Canada, but contractors routinely slit the interior barriers in southern BC to prevent problems after inspectors have approved.<br>
The problem is where is the dew point in the wall and which direction is it moving. If the interior is warm and moist and the outside is cold and dry. The dew point is in the center of the wall and moving from the inside to the outside. If the outside is warm and moist and the interior cooler and dryer the moisture is moving from the outside into the wall.<br>
PVC wallcovering can create that barrier in the south and trap condensation on the back side in the wall. This is also the problem in southern BC. I worked to create wallcovering that was a semipermiable membrane like Tyvek to correct this problem.<br>
I think the best solutions are ICF where the dew point is in the center of the concrete wall most of the time or SIPs panels with galvanized steel on both sides. I have seen problems with OSB or laminate on SIPs over time.

They are not bad to install but be sure you have all the pieces. I normally recommend that with a belly mower to go to another brand that doesn't have the interference of the attachments but that model has proven to be a good unit.

Had a bx1500 with 165 hrs. on it when I traded it in for a bx23, because I needed a backhoe. Had absolutely zero problems with this machine. The loader will impress you with what it can do and the 54" deck will cut through the toughest grass with ease. It sips on fuel and can take any 3 point attachment you throw at it with no problems. I still miss it sometimes. <br>

BA on the 10/3 I'd use a double 30 at your feed panel if you need 220 at the barn.

From there it depends on how you want to do it and if you want to involve a code guy.

You can put in a small sub panel with a 30 breaker and a couple of 15 or 20 amp circuits + a light duty 220 outlet. or just wire the stuff onto jumper circuits.

I'd opt for the small sub panel. The intial cost is there but it allows you so much more flexibility later if you need it.

Thanks Greg for your quick and somewhat disturbing reply. Will do, but looking for big chunks coming out,.... wow! Is this common with Jima tractors? I thought that the Jinmas would have had the least amount of problems as I am led to believe they are now one of the most common tractors around the world. Your advice will be taken on board and carried out, so I gather stop flushing when chunks stop appearing?

The one I'm getting is the 35hp 4WD model I am also getting the 4 in 1 bucket ,the back hoe and the finish mower. You have made me worry now as the whether i've done the right thing.

It has no creeper gear and that's the only reason why I didn't get the trencher.

Is this a good forum for getting advice on the Jinma?
