Like the guys above, I have a 32 hp JD 4310 and do most of the work you list above. I do use a 72" MMM for the lawn work (~3 acres worth). And I tell you it does a fine job. I prefer to use the 4310 for mowing than a regular lawn tractor. It's faster, bigger cut, more comfortable, power steering, I can rest a rifle on the hood when shooting at gophers, etc.

It's not the biggest or the most powerful, but it met the needs and the budget. It sounds like the models you are looking at should fit your needs. One drawback is my wife likes to drive the tractor.

Hmmm... all this talk of doctors and heart attacks reminds me that I was supposed to bake a cheese cake for my wife a few weeks back. I know the recipe goes back to at least my grandmother. It's very good, but so rich you can only eat a modest slice.

Ok, I went to school up in the northern panhandle. Not close. I don't think people realize how big Idaho is from north to south.

Those 500 loads of clippings render about 100 loads of compost.

I suppose it could be sold, but we use it for various things, by itself as well as blended together with other composted stuff, mostly manure.

Mostly we use it as top-dressing on the fields that have been harvested of turf, before we re-seed them.

We also offer it (usually free) to anybody that wants some.

I didn't mean to say that the TC40 is the best machine. It is too big for me! I'm trying to point out that the TC33 is a little smaller in lift capacity than it appears.

That is why I stick with my Cub Cadet. It is smaller in HP but is about the size of the 33 and has fat/wide front tires and the downward loader beam almost touches the front tires. It has a slightly higher lift capacity than the 33. I wish it would lift another 200 lbs., at times like when moving larger landscaping boulders. I think all the manufacturers are missing it, because it seems to me that everyone is torn with the same issue. The TC33 is a little small for some tasks and the TC40 is too big. Same goes for all the different makes. My tractor is 10 almost 11 years old and I'm sticking with it!

I bought a Kubota BX1500 a little over a year ago. At the time I was looking at it I asked if a backhoe would fit it. The salesman told me it would. I tried to order one from them this past spring and was then told that one wouldn't work on my tractor. I was later told I could buy one and put it on, but it would void my warranty. Would anyone be able to tell me if I can use one on my tractor and if I need a frame support or will a 3 point hitch set-up work on it.<br>

With regard to your comment on people content with their government, that's absolutely right, and really ties in with the first point. Not to get overly religious here, but the most important work, the work of Salvation, has been done and no political tribulations are worth our attention as we prepare ourselves for what is to come in our afterlife. That point was really driven to me by Mel Gibson's "Passion". Just look at what God has accomplished, what does anything else matter?

Save yourself some time and trouble. If Northern CA is anything like Northern NV the rental yards are governed by their insurance regulations.<br>

Here in NV you cannot rent any trailer with two axles unless there are 8 bolts on the rear rims of your towing vehicle. You can show them the owners manual with the manufacturers towing stats, but it is a huge waste of time.<br>

Porboy; Deere and Kubota both build good products, but even the "Big Dogs" so to speak will have a problem arise now and then. That's where a good local dealer can be the best part of your brand decision. Visit both dealerships, talk to some of their customers, then buy from the one who seems the most stable, asd has a loyal customer base. If you don';t like the dealer, you won't like the tractor. Frank.

I've read that many 20 gallon and smaller tanks have about a 12 year service life. They have date codes for this purpose. Don't know if that applies to larger tanks though. The way they changed the code to require OPDs on smaller BBQ style tanks got me to thinking that maybe I don't want to hassle with owning the big tank.

Where came I find a comparison on small tractors. I'm loooking at the Kubpta 1850 and the John Deere 2210, or something in that range. Of course John Deere says they are the best, Kubota says the same....CONFUSED!

I'm pretty sure the warranty will cover it. It is less than a year old. I've pretty much given up on trying to figure out the problem. Without a wiring diagram, it is pretty hard. The dealer will be picking it up on Monday so I'll just leave it alone until then. I'm sure he can figure out a way to get it loaded on the trailer without to much trouble. I appreciate all the responses from you guys. thanks

That explains all the Sas-katch-ewan (in my best southern drawl) plates I see on I-95 hell bound for Florida with all the white stuff I could hardley see the plates. I loved huntsville I was there for a year in 1971. The hunting was great and so was the fishing. You anywhere near there.

I have a kubota B2400 and when under a moderate load the front drive slips and makes a noise like a spline or gear is not engaging properly. When load is removed it engages and begins pulling again... Any idea of the problem and/or scope of repair needed?
