I stand by my first statement. I would not pull a tree unless I absolutely had to. If it is a lot of problems I would limb it (with my spurs) and reduce the weight before pulling dropping the trunk. I have only pulled 3 trees over the thousands I have dropped. The rest I wedged over. Two were large white pine leaning over buildings and the other was a western red cedar I had to pick put to of the middle of a forest and it was leaning the wrong direction.<br>
When you place force on trunks before the cut is ready other things can happen like barber chairing.<br>
Below is what Husqvarna provides with their saws. They tend to only deal with one type of tree. The other larger BC guide is a better also a starting point. Beyond that you need to learn from someone that is experienced. Trial and error can be very costly in that business.

I have a couple of tips, most likely stuff you�ve already run across:<br>

1) Cleanliness is very important when it comes to welding Aluminum. Remember that aluminum oxide has a higher melting point than the base material. My basic process is to take a stainless steel brush to the pieces being welded and then wipe them down with acetone. I�ve heard of folks who are concerned re the possiblity of stainless contamination and prefer scotch pads. I haven�t had trouble with the stainless contamination, but have run into sever oxide problems, particularly trouble some on thinner material. Perhaps the Al stick electrodes will have a flux included that makes this a non-issue.<br>

2) Try and identify the alloy that you�re working with. I had the experience of going to one of Boeing�s �country� stores and bought a bunch of unmarked material. Well unfortunately for me it wasn�t a �weldable� alloy � what a mess. It was truly a live and learn process.<br>

After I responded to your prior message it got me to rethinking your statements re the dilution of the mechanical properties for the various alloys as a result of the welding process. And yes I agree, if you�re considering building structural �stuff�, with any significant loading, you need to pick alloys that can be heat treated and brought back as close as possible to the original strength specifications. <br>

Thanks for the confirmation on the "non-dip-stick" cap.
This issue really is an oversight.
You'd think that JD would have addressed this issue by allowing "sight-holes" on the backhoe frame so that you could see the sight-glass with ease.
I'd be curious to see if they have modified things in new models.

Funny enough: JD recommends checking Hyd Oil daily; not overfilling with oil; and not running while system is low, yet they make it pretty damned hard to check the oil with something mounted on the back!

In addition to all the good safety comments on this subject, I would also suggest that when you are on a slope, move your implement (in my case the backhoe bucket) to the uphill side as a counter weight. It doesn't tell you what the tip point is, but it moves the center of gravity uphill and may avoid the tip itself. But, remember to move the implement back to center or to the other side as you turn up/down slope or turn at switchback.

Also, really consider the soil and the topography. Like Ken, I had soil on the downhill side give way just as the uphill side tire was rising over a rock. Thank heavens for the seat belt. Now I walk the area first and won't go on slope with soil at risk of slipping/sliding (such as wet clay).

However, by following safety precautions, I have been able to move tons and tons of rock, wood, and soil on by fairly steeply sloped land.

Jeff your choice is a good one on the choice of the frame attached backhoe over the three point hitch unit. Kubota offers their own frame attached backhoe for most models which extends the frame from the loader all the way to the backhoe.

Still other sinks have a stainless steel rim that lies nearly flush on the counter top. THe sink then is held under the counter to this rim by bolts and small brackets. The brackets grip the rim and the bowl and the under counter area and pull everything down tight. Caulk under the rim for a water tight seal.

and that'll tell me what? I've already swapped the 3 identical ones around. What i labeled as # 3,4 & 5 (counting from the left) look to be "neutral start" (#1 on the print), "glow plug power" (#3), and "PTO safety start" (#2)... based on the wires to them. They ARE identical, even tho "glow plug power" looks to be different on the print. That one doesn't look like it'd matter (assuming the engine was warm) ... it obviously wouldn't crank if the others were out. except that my "bypass switch" works great with ALL those 3 relays out. J

You have to keep on them. if you don't they will assume you have gone away. Call every day. If you can afford it take trips to there office. Again I hope you will soon find your self in a better situation then you are now. TO me Lenar has proven there self to be a very sub par company. I would not recommend ANY one buy one of these units unless every thing to the last warranty detain is in writing and stating the ANY selling dealer will work on it.

The fan clutch will not spin freely but will move when you turn in by hand when cold, when warm it will turn a little easier. Did you give the front of the motor a good bath to get rid of all the coolant that came from the water pump. Its good that you replaced the tensioner assembly, they do loosen up over time, not just the bearing. You say the sound got a little better when you replaced the tensioner? Try spraying a little water on the belt, if the noise goes away for a second, replace the belt and check all pullies to make sure they are clean, I know you already replaced the belt, but they don't like getting wet with coolant. Put a long screw driver to your ear to check for bearing noise, this is the easiest way to find your noise, compare all the pullies, you will know when you have found a bad one.

My get around every day gas saver van has this problem too. I got the engine and everything all checked out and no problems still the light was on. So what i did was brought it into the dealer and they checked it out ran it on the computer got rid of the light. But a few mounths later the light came back i dont think this should matter too much as long as you keep a good mechanical record and check everything every month or so.

NAPA. They have shank lengths of up to 3-3/8". But the diameter of the drawbar hole might require you add a bushing as well

I know the $'s are a factor, but I'd recommend the 62C deck: it has a better overlap over the wheelbase, reduces the uncut circle to 36", which makes the tractor more maneuverable -- in addition to effectively pushing the ROPS away from trees etc.
