It's all in what you like really. The world would be a boring place if we all liked the same thing. It's funny in a way I've been in the Ag business all my life an have own good/bad Equipment build by many different Manufactures. But when it comes to my vehicle there�s only one FORD.

You�ll have a hard time finding a bigger Ford man than I am. I�ve had Blue blood all my life. Never owned a Chevy, never seem the need to. I�ve heard they ride good but, I don�t buy a truck to ride good, I buy a truck to work with. Not sure if I could even drive a chevy. I�ve often wondered if the brake pedal is on the left or the right.

Tire wear that is high for the hours might mean abuse. Most times with gear drive transmisions the tires do take a lot of beating when used on a loader tractor.

GO back to original fuel and start mixing slower. You might only get 25% mix with a good burn.

I found the best way to add weight to your tractor is by filling your tires with water. You can buy the water hose valve at just about any auto or tractor parts store. I have a 4wd B7500, and I filled all four wheels with water. This drastically increased the pulling capability of the tractor and allowed me to use a five foot box blade.

Personally I pushed the dually through the chain stop last year. I have limited slip and a manual so have no problem in the snow. I am not sure why CA and OR still thinks about old technology. In B.C. they close the passes but do not require chains anymore. The only place I have seen requirements for chains and 4X is on Mt. Washington Ski hill which is a gravel logging road up the mountain on Vancouver Island.<br>
Normally you only chain the outer set. It is difficult to get the chains on and off the inners.

I don't use 4WD when using the FEL unless traction is lost with a heavy load. I use a grapple to lift slash quite a bit, and slash is usually bulky and light so 2WD usually works fine in that case. A full bucket of wet soil is another story.

I have a 3054 It has 500hrs on it and the only problem I have had is the front knuckle seals leaking. Parts where easy to get and cheap. Good simple easy to use tractor.

there's another site called ... netlingo.com they also have links and definitions to all the 'smiley' face stuff :-) :p &:) etc. Maybe Dennis, with our help could build a tractorpoint lingo page for tractor abbreviavtions. Took me awhile to figure FEL stood for front end loader not a brand name.

My L4200 cold start light stopped working checked fuze but it is ok. Now the guages stopped working and the engine will not shut off with the key. Replaced the key swith but same problem. Tractor starts fine but no guages work and have to kill engine with manual pull cable. All fuzes are ok. Where do I look next?

Opps mad a mistake which everyone probably new already, I have an L3400, not a B. What was I thinking, anyway... yes the blower has a single auger. 76"-78" would probably be the cat's meow, so when I sell this I will down size by a foot or so. We recently had a 5-10cm snowfall, and that seemed to help through the snow a lot better. It doesn't seem hard on my tractor at all, RPM's stay constant, come to think of it my 5.5ft bush mower seems to put more of a strain on my tractor. I think as long as I am only blowing fresh snow, and not compacted snow or snow banks I should be alright.

I have had several L2550s, which are the same as the
L2850s, except for the engine. I noticed that all of the
units that I acquired (used and abused) had worn off
loader joystick labels, which show how to use FLOAT. Also,
you could tell no one used the FLOAT position as the
joystick (though sloppy from wear) was resistent to getting
into the FLOAT position.

I am not sure about a L35, but I had the same problem on my L2850 and it was a bad shut off soliod and relay. When you turn the key to off the relay supplies power to the soliod for about 15 seconds. The soliod's job is to shut off the fuel to the egine. The kill switch/manual arm does the same thing by pushing on the same arm that the soliod pushs and hold shut for that 15 seconds. With the engine off, turn the key to on and then turn the key to off after a minute or so you should hear the soliod work. If you you do not hear anything, I would be tracing that electrical circuit or components.

My JD top and tilt has been glitch free. The single diverter switch switches the two joystick loader functions to the two top and tilt functions. Nothing weird there. The 3rd SCV used for grapple jaw open/close has it's own control. I have seen pictures of some pretty bad dealer installations though. On those they obviously didn't follow installation procedures but they probably didn't use real JD kits either. There was one guy whose dealer ran rubber hydraulic lines over the right side of the operator platform out in the open for anyone to trip over.

I am newly registered here but have been lurking for some time and learned a good deal.<br>
I just received a Kama 554 and I am agast at the poor quality of the manuals. From what I read here this is a common problem with all chinese tractors.<br>
Are better manuals available anywhere? I would like real maintenance manuals on teardown and rebuild, to include the engine, and operator's manuals with illustrations or pictures.<br>
Someone with the entrepenual spirt could probably make a buck or two producing these for sale in CD form over the internet. They should be written in english (not pigeon) and written from experience like chilton's etc. <br>

This thread is a good lesson in pay attention. Have never needed to fill my own tire before. Then Saturday working on larger tractor about dark notice, boy this tractor is leaning. Enough said.

Local dealer/parts store sells attachment for water hose to valve stem for about $7. Figured out for no more antifreeze needed here (20 F plus is very cold here) can put enough in water hose without a tank.

Talk about selling me (did not buy any tractor from him) he is willing to loan tank and attachment.
