See if you can find an old commercial truck flat bed trailer that has been put out to pasture. Dig a trench for the axles or remove them and have a crane lift it into place or you might try floating the front half with barrels or some other floatation and push it across to the island with a big tractor or bulldozer. We have one on one of our properties that crosses a creek and it works great.

OneAce, I've read your posts, and I hoped you'd see this. I really respect your opinion, BUT it doesn't seem to be the starter.

Like I said, I bypassed the whole string of safety relays, going from raw 12v to the solenoid "pull and start" lead -- at first with an ammeter. It starts every time if I do that. Just like it does IF the HM17 lead goes to 10v or better. It's just when the HM17 lead is at 6v or so that it goes CLUNK and won't crank. (AND, I've got 3 voltmeters, and have pur one on the batt. during all this too -- the batt. stays at 12v or better during the CLUNK. It is not the batt.)

In fact, i got PO'd and put in a toggle switch (from some fuse -- i forget the # but it is ign. switched and feeds only yhe "aux light kit") to the HM17-V-1.0 lead. I use the key start if it works ... if not, if i get the CLUNK, THEN I try the toggle switch abd it works every time.

I really think it's in the safety switch / relay crap. There's gotta be a high resistance point someplace -- intermittantly. It's just an SOB to find .. I hate to keep cutting into the wire harness to test, and if you hold the key too long, it pops a fuse.

I was looking to unload my BX2200 but it's still worth MORE than what I paid for it when I bought it 2 years ago with only 100 hours. I got a great deal on it. The bottom just doesn't fall out on these.

My buddy here in town bought two Mahindra's from my other buddy here in town who is a dealer. He is trying to sell both of them (big one and little one) both have a loader and hoe and he will be lucky to get 1/2 of his $$ back. Reliability and resale are my two deciding factors when I buy something. I truly believe you can buy a B or BX, get everything done you need to and sell it as a 300-500 hour machine and only lose a few bucks. Had you ented a machine for this many hours it would cost double the price of a new one. If you need one go buy it and you can't lose.

today,20 jan., finally rec'd workshop manual from carver equip.--25 dollars freight!-- and it seems to be a copy of the original and no binding--just 8X11 sheets of paper for the L3130GST which includes all the grand L's. anyway I called Tim again concerning my HDTL bkt. that attaches to my tractor and why I haven't rec'd any instructions to apply the bkt. He finally admitted the HDTL bkt. will not fit my tractor. soooo I sent it back. Ronnie Bowman was right. Kubota does not make a HDTL bkt. for the L3130 or any grand L. seems those tractors are heavy enough w/o a reinforced bkt. chas.

Some sizes are up nationally and some are down. Much of what has been said is true and I'm glad we live in NY as it normally stays consistantly slow so we gain most all years.

Kubota also uses the rigid axle front axle on the ZG series and the ride is far better on the ZD21-28 series. The standard features on both these mowers model Kubotas exceed all the players in the market place. Diesel engines go over 10,000 hours under some work conditions. Gas engines are at their max air coooled at about 3500 with liquid cooled about 500 more. These do depend on operating conditions

To the best of my knowledge all parts are available for the decks. You can buy adapters for you machine so it will also take all the newer series attachments.

Unfortunately this might be the wrong forum for this size tractor as it is not a compact. I am not sure there are may AGCO units out there with the group.
I tried to do some checking, the Masseys are not the same as the AGCO in this size range. It is not a Fendt either so I am not sure if there is any commonality with other AGCO lines. The Massey in the size range are Perkins engines and have a history of being a solid tractors. I am not sure who manufactures the engines. They maybe Perkins but have a different displacement. The AGCO appears to be the more upscale tractor compared to the Massey 461.
I think the 31K is good. About the minimum you could get a Kioti cab DK-55 with loader would be 29-30K. This being 10 HP smaller tractor.

You would be very surprised what a BX 23/24 can do. Would a larger tractor be better, Yes I would have to agree with others on that for some things, when I needed the bigger equipment I called in a friend and he helped out with his big Caterpillar it would take him 5 min. to rip out a 2 foot dia. Stump where it would take me a couple hours to dig around it, but then again when I had to remove 80 stumps his excavator was faster. Now that all the big stuff is done my BX23 is a great tractor, I have a 5 foot 3PH rear blade and the Kubota 5 foot front blade for snow removal (since I live in Michigan) that works off the FEL joy stick I use this to clear my new 450 foot long drive way and it works great. All in all my BX23 is a good size for my 2.25 acres I also have the 60 inch MMM for mowing the grass. My neighbor has a Kubota B 20 and laughed at my BX till he saw what it can do. The choice is up to you, sometimes bigger is not always better. Good luck..

I have very recently installed Spray Foam Insulation in my home. I have areas with cathederal celings, (like a barn) and it was the only way to get the required r-value in those areas. However, r-value is not a good measure of this material's performance. When applied, this stuff fills every nook and cranny solid. It forms around pipes wiring, and whatever you have within your walls. Its effective r-value is much closer to its "claimed" r-value than batt insulation because of the extremely tight seal. There are two basic types of Spray Foam; Open Cell (also called "half-pound" by installers, and Closed Cell which is closer to 2 lbs/sqft. Open cell provides about 3.5 r-value points per inch of application. Closed cell provides around 6.5 points/inch, and is obviously more expensive.

This stuff is not cheap however. In fact expect to spend abour 2x the cost of fiberglass. However, when you watch this material go in, you'll see that there is really no comparison for insulative effectiveness, and im very happy I used it.
