When one of ours have had that squeal it was always the spring-loaded serpentine belt tensioner.

They're dead easy to change and not much money.

BTW, you can't tell they're bad by just turning them either. We went round & round on the first one, after much unsuccesful diagnosis we went with the dealers advice and just replaced the tensioner. That was the culprit.

I think you are correct on what the tractor my neighbor had. I was not sure what the second fuel was. He also had it converted to run on gas only but health preventing him from using it much after that conversion.

With the cost of fuel today, we may see another attempt at dual fuels.

mfrost... a power beyond is not a valve per se. It is an extension of full hydraulic pressure and flow that you can break open and insert tool like a backhoe, top and tilt, log splitter, or anything that has its own selective control valve.<br>

You NEVER want to run the tractor with the P/B uncoupled. There must always be a continuous return flow to the sump.

The color concentrate you buy for the concrete mix is expensive. A cheaper menthod is to purchase the color concentrate for exterior latex paint, if they will sell it. If the latex is a dark color you can mix it in. The small amount of latex will tend to act as a crack modifier.
Murf is right I was talking about using the bent bars as stakes, but you can use wooded stakes with the lauan or thin plywood.

Opposite of most members on this board, I need FRONT ballast more than rear because I only have rear implements. That's the reason for filling the front tires. Even though they are small every little bit counts.

I also want to lower my CG for mowing. That's where the rears come into play. I understand your point regarding centrifugal force, but I never need to accelerate very quickly so the added inertia of the fluid shouldn't be a problem. I only see it being an issue if I get stuck because it will mean having to move an additional 200lbs or so.

Sounds like we have the same problem. Actually I found out why they call the dogs retreivers. They bring every stick they can find back into the house and chew them up. When I built this house, I made sure there was plenty of ceramic tile just for this reason. Ended up putting down over 1300 SF. Also found the tile keeps them from running full speed. They have their own bedrooms and live like kings. Wish I had their problems.....lol

I own a construction company and operate many diesel engines. Refilling a fuel filter with ATF is a common practice. I also periodicaly add a can of ATF to the fuel. Seems that the ATF is very high in detergents and works very well for cleaning the fuel injectors.

Kubota has always built a top product without quality control problems or design flaws that haunt them within 90 days of a release of a new product. The L-2600 offers less options for the operators then the new models. I prefer the BH75 on the L-2800 do to the way it connects to the tractor for rigidity.

I agree all of this has to do with both the way people are raised and how they value or respect others.

Little respect of onesleves in some circles much less others.

The idea of chip in dogs and such, problem would be how would you be sure the people had chips in their animals?

Attention FOTON 404 owners.. I have been surfing chinese forums on multiple sites for quite some time now, and test driving different tractors as well. I have some questions about this tractor I am an the verge of buying. If you have one, or are knowledgable about them, please help me before I do someth'n stupid.<br>

1) Do the dual remotes on the 404 work with the clutch in and out?<br>
2) If I put a FEL on it, can I tap into the side instead of using my remotes?<br>
3) Does anyone have any crossover numbers for the fuel and oil filters?<br>

Any extra info would be helpfull as well. I've already heard from some of you saying how happy you are with the tractor, now I just need these specifics answered.. Thanks in advance,<br>

yeah, I noticed that filter being right there on the bottom, and thought that it was a dumb place for that....very crucial filter, in a vulnerable place. I have already been scheming a way to fabricate a skid plate to put up there that wont look silly. I might run it down the road to a near by station, just so happens they are probably one of the only stations within 10 mile radius or so that sell red dye diesel (off road). Dealer has on road, but didnt fill it up for me....kinda stunk that they didnt, but that meant that I could put in the red dye instead and keep it that way, cheaper too!
HOnestly, your detaile message and pics that you sent were the determining factor in the decision of the TZ purchase. As I had stated before, what you are doing with yours is a carbon copy of what I will be doing with mine for the most part. As well, they had been sitting on this unit for some time, and wanted to move it...thought the price was right.

On my 3410 I mounted the blade to the loader frame. It was way too long and it was difficult to get the blade elevation just right.

When I bought the L3430 I used a Meyer subframe cross piece and bolted it to the mount for the grill guard. I than used the mounts for the lift cylinder and welded them to the grill guard. The hydraulics are controlled by the loader valve. It works great.

Just noticed the temp guage on my RTV runs about a needles width over halfway before the cooling fan comes on. Just wondering if I might have a defective guage or they have the new ones set up to run at a warmer temp. Put my hand on the radiator and coolant hoses and they are not that hot. Comparing it to the BX1800 I have which usually runs about a 1/4 on the guage. The RTV has under 10 hrs on it. Or is this the normal temp range they run. Down in Central Texas.

In our area tractor sales are always slow in winter. There's generally not enough snow to encourage equipment sales and the ground is too wet and mucky to work. The dealers seem to plan for it though since their lots seem to have about the same amount of inventory as always.

That is the relief valve for the loader,if you did not count the turns to remove it, you may have to re-adjust it lifting pressure, as you may notice it does not pick up as much as it used to.

This topic has been discussed adnausium on another tractor forum. The core of this tractor (and my 7360) is built by Mitsubishi. For some reason, Mitsubishi will not publish the specs for their filters. Much of the exhorbitant price charged by Cub, is a pass-thruu from Mitsubishi.

While you can find filters that are of the same physical size, I am reluctant to risk my tractor by using a cheaper filter without knowing the filtration and bypass pressure specs of the manufacturer.

I was at Menards (big box home improvement center) and they had various ice melt products. Some of them were pellets that contained Calcium Chloride but they also had Potassium Chloride, Magnesium Chloride, and/or Sodium Chloride. But it didn't say how much of each. Does anyone know if these ice melt products that contain some Calcium Chloride will work as a dust suppressant?

Are the Calcium Chloride dust suppressants that you use 100% CaCl?
