My L3400 is 58" wide at the rear tires. I would like to get a box blade for this tractor. Should I get a 60" or 72" ? What size will this tractor pull ? Any brands or models that would be best ? I maintain a 1200' and a 400' gravel driveway. Thanks, Ben

I think the person asking the question needs to understand that they are getting what they pay for. I would not ask a home electrical, Plumbing, building, legal, etc. question on a compact tractor board thinking I was going to get a completely qualified answer. I would find a board/forum with that expertize and ask the ?? . We are here to discuss compact tractors and our experience with them. Think about it!

Also you need to remember, some of us are here to post as many times as we can to get the 5 tractors under our name showing that we are an expert:) I for one have been trying for 7-yrs now and it ain't happened (but maybe thats cause I don't know much):))

It is a shame that now days we have to work 16-18 hours a day to stay (ahead of the game). Divided between two people thats not bad, but what if one needs to stay home with a child? What if you don't have the education that it takes to bring home a large enough income too support everyone in the family? What if there are no Union jobs in the area you live that pay time and a half, double time or holiday pay. It is important to spend time with family, but some families don't have that choice.

I just purchased a new Kubota bx2230 with 54" deck and 50" snowblower. My question to everyone is will I need to get tire chains for my tractor to aid in snowblowing. I have turf tires on this machine and where I live (Great Lakes snowbelt area) getting 10 inches of snow or more at one time is not uncommon. I appreciate any help I can get now before we get this kind of snow, actually I am looking forward to getting so as I can try the tractor out! Thanks again...<br>

I bought a used Cub Cadet lawn tractor. After about a month of use, it began to fail to respond in reverse if there is any resistance at all.<br>

I changed the trasmission oil and filter, checked the linkage, no help.<br>

It will back up very slowly untill it meets resistance, <br>
ie a small hill, a stick etc.<br>

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. <br>

I've had an HST for four years and from the first day, noticed the "mechanical, loose sounding, gear noise" when the transmission is in neutral. Especially when the oil is hot as after mowing a pasture. My dealer told me that the HST produced more noise than a standard tranission and not to worry. I've used both the standard UDT and the Super UDT hydralic oil with no changes in noise. The tractor still work perfectly. I'm teaching myself not to notice the noise.

They actually welded shimes to rear side of the square steel post that runs left to right on the Tractor and that the FEL pillar rests on, plus they made adjustments on the front arm bolts. It is as solid as a rock now. Before the pillar would wiggle, big time and had me quite concerned, now it doesn't budge a milimeter, well maybe a small milimeter, but just a small one.

You can look at most of the pto components by removing the lift cover, not to hard to do will take some time though.

Thanks Beagle. I also have a rear worklite mounted on my right fender for backhoe work.I bet there might be a plug underneath, like you have, so I can splice in. My ROPS fold down as your do so I believe that extra both hole at the hinge will be there when I look. My tractor is at my camp right now so I havent been able to check out these things yet. Snowed in till I can get up there sometime. Dont you just love winter???? Thank you for your time. Will

First it is wise to see if someone is asking from a 200 inch snow area or a 20 inch! There is much more as even in our area a east west drive can be quickly plowed but a north south that's a different story!

Does a simple yes answer this question? I didn't notice that much more plastic although there might be I was just checking the details of the unit. Plastic has for years been used to reduce noise levels on tractors although we all know it will only bend so far before it snaps. It's a nice unit that has more room and simpler controls. The BX's are not for everyone but they are one of the top sellers and offer the most flexibility to a home owner.

Bill,

I used r19 fiberglass batts in the walls and blown celulose in the ceiling. Once the ground thaws I will be trenching in the power to the pole and running all the electric in the barn. All the electric will be in conduit on the inside of the steel walls and ceiling. If anyone in southern Michigan, northwest Oh io and northern Indiana need someone to put a barn up the two guys that did mine get a great recomendation from me. You can PM if interested.

I'm not sure what your point is Carl. The thermostat is on the engine end of the upper hose. Since heat rises, I don't see how the thermostat would enter the picture when an inline heater is used on the lower hose.<br>

The block heater I spoke of went into a fitting NEAR the thermostat housing. It was apparently designed in such a manner to accept a freeze plug type block heater. Your tractor may not have such a fitting.<br>

I personally prefer to heat the oil pan. But the cooling fins on yours make that pretty near impossible, unless you can find a spot to stick one on the side of the pan.<br>

Got something now, the whole nine yards. Sinus infection, cold sores, fever, tired...blah-blah-blah. Happens to me every time around Christmas. Spent Christmas Day in the emergency room a couple years ago with a fever of 104. Found out that time it was pneumonia.

Hope we feel better soon!!!
