Sorry to hear that Mark. What a lousy time to get it (not that there's a good time). I thought I had it this last Tuesday since I had a very sore throat all day, but Wednesday it was gone. Time for a flu shot if I can get one.

I did a little APL in comparative language classes. It sure is a funny language with all the unique characters. The hardest to understand for me was Forth though.

I like lbrowns logic and I will add this:

Plowing snow on an open tractor CAN be a cold and wet experience, depending on the weather.

Blowing snow on an open tractor WILL be a cold and wet experience, no matter what the weather.

If you get the blower you might want to spring for some sort of cab.

I have been reluctant to use a lower hose heater because most of the heat is circulated in the radiator. After the thermostat is open it heats the block. A freeze out plug heater would heat the block first. I think I will check on one of them. Putting one it the thermostat housing would be the same as a lower rad. hose heater.

went through some family photos at x-mas ,my dad has me in the front seat of a 60's T-bird that had a retractable hard top it was half way up/down like the 57-58's and me sitting on the trunk of a superbird ,whaaaaa.

I think it depends on the tractor. Kubota doesn't recomend it, but they do have front wheel weights.

From the part number references, and the 1/4" valve stops on the 7800 fender, I would say the two fenders are probably different in some way. The hydraulic set up for the two valves is completely different. The position control valve works similar to a steering valve, while the 1/4" valve is basically a flow control valve. The lever action is different for both.

If your dealer is doing the set-up, he will know if the fender needs to be changed out, along with the hydraulics. The two fenders carry different part numbers. That's as far as I got into it.

The other thing we did was spend some time looking at the two machines side by side. Might be something you want to do.

51, I wish I could, but we have since mounted a curtis cab and the lights are no longer mounted to the ROPS.

What we had done is used a second hole in the ROPS hinge to mount the light brackets. The second bolt in the bracket was a "Jamb" bolt against the ROPS to keep the bracket tight. I'm not sure your L-series will have the second blank hole like the B-series does. The light brackets were fabricated from L2x2x1/4.

The wiring was simplified since the tractor was harnessed for a rear work light. Under the rear fender (we added from 2910 parts ) was a blank plug for the rear work light.

We used this for power and had a seperate switch for the added lights. Wires were run through the ROPS and out at the hinge to the lights.

The same lights are now mounted on top of the cab, with a fuse box added inside the cab.

Sorry we can't supply better pictures. The lights worked great on the ROPS.

Sorry about the mix up on electric. Ours is about $145 per mo and I guess about $25 of that is for moving heat in the winter. Summer is around $100 per mo the other different is lights on longer.<br>

Ncrunch our taxes r-not bad We only pay around $3500 for both. They have me assessed quite high considering the neighbor hood. The only 2 that were higher for a sindle family on some non ag land are on Skeaneatlas Lake. That really frosts my butt.<br>

I do not feel to bad about our energy cost considering the size of the dump I live in. (Dump lots of money in therefore it's a dump).

Sorry for the delay...been on vacation. It is not exactly where it is supposed to be when in neutral. My recollection is it shows slightly in reverse in order to make the tractor sit still.

My dad says that the noise is coming from inside the pto shaft and only when the pto is engaged. Does that help?

I would agree with Jim, likely one of the casings is not correct. It could be the engine, transmission or rear end casing. Some how the casing is placing greater loads on the HST bearings than they are designed for. It would be difficult to measure the casings accurately when installed. You really need accurate measurements on a CMM or at least a surface table. You also would require the blue prints.
We had a TP member state he had a rear end rebuild a number of times on a Dodge pickup, likely a similar problem. They kept rebuilding it and it started to whine quickly after the rebuild.
You need to state to the Kubota rep. what you feel is wrong and insist that they fix it. If the housings were not cracked then one of the casing was not cast or machined correctly from the factory. Remember the thing they most fear is bad publicity. Tell them you are communicating with the TP etc. and if resolved correctly it is good publicity. Let us know how it turns out.

I had the same problem with my FEL and 4115, I had the dealer pick it up and then adjusted the arm and welded a shim and then painted it. It has worked excellent and done a tremendous amount of heavy work since.
