Thanks Art, I don't know why I didn't think of lowering the shoes and shortening the top link. Frustration is blinding I guess. I tried it yesterday on the gravel drive outside the barn and it seems as if it could help. The thing leans toward the tractor now instead of toward the cutting edge. As for the 25 y/o asphalt, it's been sealed once a year with your typical Agway/Walmart driveway sealer. Probably the main credit is due to my mother who always painstakingly sealed the larger cracks with crack sealer. Anyway, I still feel I overbought with this huge 3 pt. blower for our relatively small drive. But maybe I'll keep it around for a while...I'm sure it would really earn its keep during those occasional blizzards in the Albany, NY area!

For what it's worth - I bought a new glow plug timer (control unit) and power relay today. Swapped out the old ones and everything seems OK now - thank goodness. Looks like all the relays are under the right (looking forward) lower cowl. Wasn't hard to work on except the loader made things less than convenient. The dealer said the timer was probably all that needed to be replaced but the power relay was just $13 so I thought good time while I'm in there. They also showed a third glow plug light relay that was a mystery and I didn't replace it. This is the fourth winter I've had the tractor - bought it new and have 500 hours with this being the first time I've had to wrench on it other than normal service. Thanks again for your advice.

We have an L3130 with the glide shift at the school I work at. I have a smaller, B7510 hydrostatic at my house. I personally like the hydrostatic better, but the maintenence guy at school (who actually works with the 3130, I simply play on it!) likes the GST better. It's a great machine with either transmission!

the spool that controls the curl/dump action of the bucket won't go down into the assambly so the bucket does not dump.<br>
I can force the spool down (with a hammer) and then it works a little bit, but not as it should.<br>
can I take the spool out somehow and see if there is something that needs fixing?<br>
This happened once before and after I forced it down it worked well for a while, but there is obviously something wrong

Some things are nothing new under the sun, that having been said, there is a VERY good reason wolves, grizzly bears, mountain lions, rattle snakes, and some others are endangered species.............. people got fed up with being on the menu or dieing from being bitten. Now if we could only get those pesky coyotes whittled down too.

What KT suggests is a good thing to consider if theft is a risk for you. Snowmobiles are easy to steal items. My brother rigged a hidden switch on his that he flipped when he parked it. So if anyone tried to steal it, it just wouldn't start even if they hotwired it.

My cousin burns a mix of fuel oil and waste oil in a converted oil furnace in his farm shop. I think all he did was change to a different nozzel size. There used to be a truck that came around once a year or so buying waste oil for ten cents a gallon for re refining. You had to have a minimum amount and a way to pump it on him. I haven't seen him for several years, so I don't know if they still do that or not. Lots of interesting things to discuss. Frank.

I am not sure you have the same problem I did because you state your 3pt comes back up after dropping but heres what I found. My 4310 was dropping and not staying up. I did a search on this site and found a drawing showing the 3pt control lever set up. You have to remove the right rear wheel, remove the fender, remove a cover plate and there is one bolt that holds tension on the lever. It was just an adjustment for me. maybe someone else can search and find the drawing? again, since yours is coming back up, this might not be the case for you.

It concerns me with some of the recent post on this thread and another that with the first of winter some are not getting enough time in fresh air. BOY WHAT TALL TALES. If they don't hit a funny bone it is just buried too deep under table muscles.

Hey, I resemble that remark.

Rookie logging truck drivers (and even experienced ones) can get themselves into bad situations pretty easily in the woods. When you lose traction on hillsides things happen fast.

Most (all?) hornets and wasps won't reuse nests from one year to the next. In the late fall the females leave the nests to find a place to stay for the winter. In the spring they come out and always find a new place to start a brood. Baiting (not trapping) in the spring seems to work very well here. We used to hate going outdoors in the late summer but now there is rarely a yellow jacket to be found.

Is the pump bad or just a bad seal?
Pumps are often exspensive. Maybe you can take out the fualty seal and find a replacement for it..

I just bought this tractor and included was a 50" front mount snowblower. I'm trying to get a manual or any info on it. The front housing is marked with the FORD logo. The ID sticker has been scraped and is partialy missing. What I can see is the following:<br>
