Does anyone have information about when the DK90 is supposed to hit the market? I heard at one point they were supposed to be out this month, but haven't seen anything for sure.

the kubota L3130 has a lowering speed knob which can be adjusted to control the speed of the 3ph. it has a fast, slow and lock. ya need to put it on the lock position so the 3ph can't be raised, especially when the bh is attached. I suppose it still could be "accidentally" raised although highly unlikely. WOODS 7500 BH has a optional Saf-T-Lok Limiter Kit, which I have, to keep the 3ph arms from moving. Am wanting a HDTL bkt. for my tractor and it seems to be a real PITA to get. I recently put the BH on and forgot to put the knob in the lock position. THAT IS WHY I READ THIS THREAD---KEEPS ME ALERT....

For that kind of money it better have all brand new tires
and the engine gone over completely. A very good tractor,
but that price is wayyyyy high. Maybe $2500 to $2800,
otherwise.

I have been told to mix dextron II transmission fluid 2ozs to 5gallons of desiel in order to keep the injectors from drying out. The fuel does not contain lubricants any more. Any Ideas

It sounds as if this is for a backup to your house in
power outages. I will attempt about any project EXCEPT
electrical stuff like this. I had a 7KW Generac installed
by a dealer and run it off of LP. I use LP for my heat
also, so it was an easy decision. You really need to know
your electrical stuff to do this or you can really cause
problems. I believe at the time (2 years ago), it was about
$3200 installed. I live in the 'boonies' and my elderly
father is now living with me, so it was well worth it.
Sometimes, it is not worth skimping to save a few bucks.
Let the experts do it.

Two years ago, I bolted a 2 inch by 3/8 inch piece of
strap metal to the top of my roll bar on my B2400.
I then placed 2 lights forward and one rear. I placed
a switch to turn on and off. I ran a ground wire to the
battery and a live wire to the battery. It works great
for me.

A couple of things to try 'before' chains. Drop your
air pressure in your tires a bit, you will get a better
'bite' on the surface. Also, try adding weight to the
tractor - in the back for sure, but possibly in the front
also. Chains do not 'hurt' a tractor. Dont know where that
came from. I have used them since the mid-60's on an allis
WD-45, with fluid in the tires also. Worked like a charm.
I now use a front end snowblower on an L3430 with a cab, and I put weight on my rear 3pt for balance.
Just alot more comfortable and enjoyable.

It can be done - I have been doing it on over 2 acres for
the last 10 years. If you have flat land as others have
said it helps. Make sure your brush hog is set up level and run it at at 540rpm. I sharpen my blades, but others
disagree. I get a nice cut doing it this way and I cut within 2 feet of my house and building. Most of my "lawn"
is in red clover and weeds, so I am not looking for a
showplace type cut, just functional. Could not see getting
a lawn mower to do it, when I had equip that could do it.
I do have stone 2 feet out from all buildings and spray
with roundup a couple times a year to keep it in line.

I haven't seen them select one over the other due to gas. It is mostly the luck of the draw where they start their nests.(depends a lot on where the female overwinters) I have seen them in just about every conceivable area possible. I have had sheds that didn't have them for years and then all of the sudden they show up a couple of years in a row. Then disappear again for years.

Thanks for filling me in on the problems I would have without lots of gasket and injector changes. I'll just wait till next pickup trade time. Till this past season I had grown corn all my working life and what with the huge corn piles in almpost every cornbelt town I'd like to do my part to use up the extra corn and not be quite so dependent on foreign oil sources who have mainly their wellfair in mind not ours. There are quite a number of new ethanol plants in the building or startup stage right now, so it seems to be here to stay. Frank.

another comparison I thought of right after I hit submit was the gear vs HST arguement for tractors. I went with HST because my wife can handle a simple forward/reverse pedal combination. Meaning she is less likely to ram my shop or the house because she panicked and forgot to press the clutch in. But then, I'm not working the unit hard by running a subsoiler, etc. If I tried to do everything a gear tarctor can do for 90% of it's usage, I'd be doing some damage. Just like auto vs manual in vehicles.

I had a Case tractor a few years ago with radial farm tires on it (Goodyear I think). They did not run the lugs as many farm tires did but were split and sort of looked like a mix between farm and turf tire (pull ag tire in their book). Best pulling tires I have ever used and were easy on turf due to how many short lugs they had. Use it on turf and it left very little foot print. They were about twice the price of the normal ag tire.

By way of comparison my 32hp JD4300 has two block heaters.
A 300W engine block heater and a 150W hydraulic oil heater. Thats a total of 450W I thought it was excessive but after about 2 hours on the heaters the engine block is only just becoming warmish to the touch. I dont leave them plugged in 24/7 due to electrical cost.

I've looked at the 2520 but the hoses going to the front axle had a loop coming down and it looks like a potential problem. I'm still shopping and have yet to decide on a specific brand or model but I'm leaning towards Deere & Kubota due to the dealerships around here.

Draft control is not available on the L-2800. Draft control is a great option for many makes of tractors and can even make snow removal with a back blade across a lawn a non-destructing thing. Some draft controls require a 20 percent load change for them to monitor a change some require as little as 5 to 10 percent load change and those are the ones worth having. Many used tractors today come in used with frozen levers from lack of use because the system wasn't worth it for the way it was built or because of lack of need.

Peters is right, we use regular snow plows from pickup trucks all the time.

You do not have to sacrifice anything, even the bucket if you don't want to, but the bucket adds axtra weight.

We made up a mount with a deep U-shaped mouth which slips over the cutting edge of the bucket, and puts a regular snow plow on, with the A-frame back inside the bucket. Two holes in the bucket bottom are used to pin the harness there so it doesn't come off when back dragging. There is a stiff-arm brace added to restrain the bucket and a pair of quick-disconnects added to the curl circuit lines. Since the bucket is restrained, operating the curl circuit then angles the plow instead since the fluid takes the path of least resistance.

Putting it on & off takes about 2 minutes.
