I Figured Cub 3000 series owners would benefit on what is available to them. The machine is a 3204 (same as 3100 series today) with the 45" blower, quick attach hitch, and Simms cab.<br>

I did this very thing with a Massey GC2300 which I assume would have a similar hydraulic system to your Kubota. It has plenty of pressure (internal relief is around 2000psi) but with only about 6 gallons/minute available flow the ram moves slower than it would on a self-contained machine with a two stage pump. Not a big problem for me, but something to keep in mind.

The 50 hr service was performed at the dealer. They supposedly did everything. I generally follow the recommendations in my owners manual to the tee and I know the value of a service manual. My question was more about personal experience and things not necessarily found in a manual.

Thank You all for the help. I save my " fuel stabilizer" bottles, the squeeze to measure ones, and transfer the cetane booster (winter formula now) to it. Six oz per five gals. Hope this helps. Jim.

I'm glad to hear all the good reviews of Powerservice in the white bottle. My brother-in-law who operates heavy equipment recomended it and I've been using it year 'round in our tractors. I mix it at the extra strentgh ratio. I figure it's cheap insurance.

Glad you got your controller hooked up successfully. I was just going to mention that nowadays a lot of the controller manufacturers sell premade connectors for the specific truck models. I sprung for it with our last new truck and it made the installation simple, no guesswork, just snap together. Good luck choosing a tractor.

Bill I remember you building that and I've always been a little sceptical of those as well as the loaders and I'm glad to hear you are having good luck with it. As with all tools it does well to know their limits and building the piece makes it easy! Or fixing them! Their were many hoe's built in the sixties that hooked up just like yours and I'm very familiar with them and have a good amount of hours on them in clay. I remember when it was in the spring and I had a heavier coat on and the sides keep catching the draft control while I was reaching over to move the tractor and nearly evicting me with big hic-ups as the chain would tighten and then drop two inches. Some of the earliest ones you had to virtually leave unchained as the legs were fixed. Most factory built units are really quite specific with different completing packages to be sure there are no accidents.

Industrial tires are the most expensive of the choices you have. The dealer should know what is the best for the area. Here in central NY we have it all from the sand to the clay to muck rock and some of the nicest top soil to be found. We also have all four seasons so we get the best and the worst of every type. You speak of mainly back forty work and between the turf and the industrial there would only be one choice and that would be the industrial. The reason being is the pulling and non clogging action of the bar type tire, it would only be better to have the ag tire if the tractor was only for back forty and not on the lawn. The industrial, a wider lower profile bar doesn't have the ability to pull as much soil loose as the ag tire to grab well in tight soil but on most lawns fine.

Driving past a construction zone today I saw two big Hitachi backhoes that looked like they were painted Kubota orange. I seem to remember seeing green Hitachis before too, but not JD green - a darker shade. Anyone know the story on Hitachi paint?

Ever driven an automatic that is constantly hunting for the right gear? Or an automatic that waits a few seconds to downshift when you punch the throttle? Most irritating. The computer cannot always do it best in the real world. It cannot know what the drivers intent is. The programmer can bias the code for performance or economy, but not both at the same time. On the other hand most drivers know when they need to punch it and also when to back off. Until our cars are totally computer operated it will always be a compromise.

something up, I have an Electrician handy on a daily basis.<br>
He put a new(to me) type of panel in one of my recent projects that reguired a generator set up. Instead of <br>
the usual transfer switch panel, It had what looks like two main breakers in your usual 200 amp panel. You can only<br>
use one at a time via a sliding locking mechanism.<br>
When you loose power you shut the top one off and slide the lock and turn the one below it on. This is connected to your generator female plug,plug in your ample supply of genarator and your good to go. The whole panel is available<br>
as long as you have supply.<br>
Obviously I'm not an electrician but it seems a whole lot simpler and quite a lot cheaper. He has picked one up for my panel at home for around $60.00, He has not installed it yet. He is recommending the 6500 watt min. Elec stove, well pump at 150 ft.,etc.<br>

I've dismounted the loader on an exposed aggregate concrete surface and there was some damage when aggregate scraped away. A non-aggregate slab would probably escape any damage.

I am quite pleased with my Case IH DX24E, which is the red version of the NH TZ24DA. It may take a bit longer to do things because of the smaller size, but it does everything that I want it to do. But, maybe taking a bit longer is OK sometimes. Plus, it surely does not take up all that much space in the garage. I have about 35 hours on mine.<br>

I am doing my own excavation terracing out parts of the slight hill that we live on making a somewhat level grassed area for the kids to play their sports (e.g.: soccer, cricket, �chasey,� etc.). There is another area to the downslope side of the driveway getting fill dirt being trucked in. The excavation and the leveling are being done with a 48 inch box scraper. I definitely have to be in 4-wheel drive using the box scraper. And there are times that I really do get a bit more aggressive with the box scraper where it takes in more than I can handle as the tractor will start to spin-out with all four wheels churning. It is the most enjoyable experience that I have had in many years learning just what angle to set the box scraper at with or without any down force. The FEL does make a great counterweight to the box scraper. I did find shortly after using the box scraper that the MMM had to come off; it was acting more as a plow at times. At 60 inch width, there was a bit of overhang when working along a hill with a 48 inch wide box scraper. I have thought about getting weights for the rear, but have not really had a pressing need since the box scraper is usually on lately.<br>

The tiller has done a wonderful job tilling the vast majority of two acres. And it did not take that long to do either. Maybe it was the soil and the moisture content, maybe the tiller, or a combination of all, but it was really much quicker than I expected. It just flat got into it. The tilling was in preparation for seeding with native grass around the outside of the property. The emergent weeds had been killed-off twice before the tilling. The seed was put in too late; some took, but most was washed away with an intense storm's torrential rain one afternoon about 7 days after it was planted. I will be going through the process again in the spring killing-off the weeds, tilling again, and then replanting the native grass.<br>

The FEL is great too. Have used it some, mostly for moving dirt and other landscape materials around. I tend to do a bit of scoops and back-drags with the FEL getting the huge mounds of dirt left by the dump truck when the fill dirt is brought in.<br>

Between now and the mid-March time frame, I am really looking forward to some more seat time completing the kids� grassed area preparation, doing some more leveling of the area being filled-in along the driveway. Mid-March should have me out there with the sprayer followed with the tiller. It�s a great little tool. Seat time is the best therapy that one could have.

I must have posted a confused message, sorry. Not wanting to contract tructor. Have looked and think their machine is over priced and not sure what it wants to be either. It would seem they could do a much better job showing it in use.
I have come across two other companies that build different machines that fit a certain niche. Just wondered if there is a discussion place on such. No, I do not have any such machine, do not sell those machines and do not sell any machines or such. Just find some of those machines interesting. Just like the question on crawlers or Chianese tractors.

I am not sure how much valuable stuff I have learned but I have learned some good stuff. Part of this shows how hard it is to engineer something in the field.

As to another thread about our soldiers, maybe we should ask congress to handle the horsepower issue and let our soldiers handle the war. No, it would really be a mess then.

Sadly there are those in elected office that are ....well who knows what...they don't. As I have said before no one accuses a politician of having common sense.
The best we can do is to pray for the soldier, let them know we appreciate them and vote the idiots out.

Most systems now have the regulator built into the alternator. Have you checked the fuses, wires and ground for the alternator?
