I had previously posted here a while back and was in the hunt for a tc33, but due to an older home needing attention, that will be cutting into the budget, therefore was not able to make a move, therefore as well I have decided since we might be moving in the future that I will need to go smaller. There are 2 dealers that I am working with on the tractors in the subject header; He advised me since he wants to move the TZ18's he has in stock, he would make me a real good deal. He said that he would move the unit with FEL (10la) and 60" mmm for right around 10,000-11,000. Is this a good price as equipped?? <br>
I told him that I was nervous about the power of the 18, he said that it would be able to mow 3.5 acres, fel dirt, mulch, and snow, along with playing in the woods with no problem. The power is what concerns me, he told me a TZ 25 w/ same equipment would be around 14,000.<br>
Different dealer still has a left over TC24DA with 9*3 gear trans, fel and 60" mmm on the lot gave me pricing as such:<br>

So there it is....I know I would like the height of the TC, but am spoiled already with hydro rather than gear<br>

If you are are on a all packed snow driveway then the best you could get would be the small truck or like the local towns use on their plow trucks would be best. Turf tires actually work the best on paved driveways that are able to be kept mostly bare. It doesn't matter which axle you choose to put the chains on it very well show some sign of wear from it in time but most often the cost is felt later in the life of the tractor some times only for cosmetics. If the tractor is new and you haven't had the time to adjust everything right try it again. If you can get the job done with a little agrivation then leave it. For some reason you feel the need to change also take the time to reconsider the tools list! You might do better off to change to a blower.

Don't forget to remove any stuck-on mud, dirt, grass clods, etc from your tractor and implements. doing that will help keep moisture off and the machine in good condition.

You may already know this, but it's probably a good idea to confirm the presence of 12v on that unused lead. If there's voltage, you want to tape off the cut end so it doesn't short out somewhere under the dash.

Can you park out of the wind? I would prefer a 175w heat lamp close proxmity to the trans/hyd. The lamp also works good aimed at injector pump side of engine.

Can you use a lighter hyd oil during the winter? Lack of oil flow is tough on hyd pumps.

Back to original question any flat surface that will accept the mag mount, on the system you need to heat, will work.

During the last real cold snap my tractor started hard even with glow plug system, it's inside by wood stove now. My old 2 cyl ford would also start but it started hard, a block water heater would be real nice.

Why do people ask that question after the fact? Do you think you did good? If so: that is really all that matters at this point.

If you are bragging about the deal, good for you.

Enjoy the new toy and hopefully it will arrive soon and you can get hours of enjoyment from it. They are great back savers.

Kerosene 60/40(60 diesel 40 kero). Not a new discovery but tried and tested in the construction industry. Lighten the mix as the weather warms.

Add a centain booster if you desire but it is not needed.

I am torn between a conventional lawn tractor and a good quality Zero turn. Can anyone shed some light on this dilema? I want to purchase in January if possible. I have approx 3 acres with lots of trees around the edge and a few good size oaks in the yard. Will the pull behind chip/vac work on a zero turn? I've been reading up on both and I am still torn as I have not really had a good comparison from someone who has owned and operated both on my size property. Is a Z-turn worth buying for 3+ acers? I see the Z's have collection systems. Do they work well for leaves?<br>

Lots of misinfo out there and a lot of wannabes that heard a rumor...

Problem: if you are welding on the frame and have the ground hooked close that is good. BUT then decide to tack a bracket to the engine and maybe the ground strap to the frame is not so good and you did not move your ground clamp that causes a problem, Maybe.

You you be amazed at the amount of wannabes that hook up the ground to the frame and weld something that runs inside of bearings.

The list can go on forever.

The lawn sweeper is not an option for leaf pickup, from all I've gathered it does not have the capacity to handle the volume of leaves I'm going to have.

There are lots of ways to get corn in the ground with out a planter. Planters just make it nicer and easier.

The battery exhists but it is no longer manufactured with the side lug hold downs. The battery is a good fit and has much more starting power. You will just have to fabricate a hold down bracket.

After reading all of this it's a wonder why I reload all my hunting ammo. The factory stuff puts you in a tizzy for sure with the different loads and no sure way of knowng how many grains they have unless you disassemble a bullet.

I bought a Winchester 94 in 45 LC and the factory ammo was about as slow as a 1974 Chevy Vega and very unpredictable. I ended up reloading it a little hotter to 44 mag specs.

Even my 375 Holland and Holland Mag shoots different with varried factory stuff (if you can find it) than my reloads.

The good thing about reloading or sticking with one high quality ammo is when you are off paper you know it's you and not the gun or ammo. I got tired of staying up at night mad that my new $800 rifle or handgun had a bent barrel!

The King Kutters are economical units that are fairly heavily built. They last well if they are not heavily used. The Jubilee should work well with the 5ft, but I would not push it too hard. It is an old tractor and you only have 30 HP PTO. I would not try and cut 3" sapplings.

I can believe it. The new computer controlled automatics work extremely well. While it may be possible to "outshift" the auto with a stick, you would have to be paying close attention at all times to differing driving conditions to do that. The automatic will do it "automatically" without the driver even having to think about it. The slip in an auto trans is factored in to when the computer decides to shift and with "lockup" torque converters there is no slip under light load. Manual shifting can be fun and if you like to do that then go for it. It is just that the auto trans of the last 10 years are nothing like the older ones. I don't know if a vehicle with a factory tow package is even available with a stick shift. The autos really are that good for all around use.
