I don't have a fel but understand Murf's thought on the basket for a person. Try a manlift (one brand) for ride you may not forget.

There was a picture on the basket with bags in it for testing I assume. If you were going to use one you should be sure to fully test it with more weight then the person in the basket and all they would have in there with them. Depending on what they are doing they could be adding weight when in the air such as taking down something already mounting, adding more weight than you thought and possibly tipping.

You would never drive with a person in a raise basket unless you were on very solid and level and clear surface.

I have a friend that had a friend jump/fall out of fel years ago. Big insurance claim, both ankels crushed and problems still years later.

For years I worked for a company that mfg cranes with the option of personal bucket. Scary testing 70 feet in air. But, the bucket with about 500 pound load was way under safe limit on those units and the flex was unreal (to me any way).

Actually, what I'd like, having seen the B7100 up close, is something between that and the L-Series. I need to look again at the L to be sure, though.

Our dealer also had a Case DX series tractor that seemed just about right to us. It was new, so it's out of the question, but at least it gives us something to study.

Your perspective on the B7100 puts it about right. We probably can't justify the cost of the ideal tractor. It'll be a make do affair. We have more time than money, so we'll just have to take it easy.<G>

You should fine it easy to check the prices for the cutter and box blade on the internet with many different companies such as Agri Supply or Northern Tool or Tractor Supply.

Look at the other post on prices and there is some very good general advice such as why the price will vary from one dealership to another.

One that I have seen was to be sure of what is being promised with the unit as you are purchasing it. Also be sure you are comfortable with the dealership, not just a salesman.

Having made little purchase but some on ebay and more bidding I doubt you would see it sell at such a price. It is fun to find an item that has a low bid and then you place a bid and it then begins to run up with you. Just who is the other bidder? From days ago at horse auctions sometimes it is the sellers friend. I think bidding normally is for the seller due to emotions getting into it is only $10 more than my last bid which may have been way more than worth.<br>
It is also reported there is a lot of scams (different methods) in car sales on ebay. Just last week in my town the policy arrested two ladies for selling stolen merchandies on ebay. Stole too much from a business that did their own snooping and found it on ebay.<br>
If it is not local (for inspection and pickup) I would be very careful if you could not afford to loss what you bid.<br>

As strictly a sdust suppressant you can get away with as little as 2 pounds per square yard.

If you want to solidify and make a more permanent treatment, you should go to at least 4 pounds per square yard. You may however wish to do this just after a good rain when the ground is well saturated, otherwise you need to find a way to get at least 4" of penetration to be effective.

In reading and telling what I have done it got me to thinking why past tense and not present. There is another solution to leaves, a chainsaw. You can use this option in either of two methods,slowly or all at once way.
Some of this is meant to be humorous but it does work. If you don't beleive it try it. However, you may find some thinning works wonders. We have a few trees in our yard but the wind now is able to remove our leaves for us. Something that helps that is having a good cut lawn so the leaves will blow and not get hung up in the grass. In cutting where there are leaves I always cut with them being thrown back into cut path and that helps a lot even without a mulching kit. My only experience with a mulching kit was not an option I cared for.

Thanks for all the help and advice. I think I will go with the Kubota 7510. Probably gear but will check and see if dealer will do something on the price of the hydro.
Will move this thread to the Kubota pricing area and see how my prices compare to the others. It looks like the prices I was quoted are a bit high. Ill check on that area.

When looking at heavy equipment repairs their are fast moving contractors that also get stiffed by the people they are working for both small and large in size. It will take about three years to find out the people that will keep you in business and those that will run you out. There are the same types of people in all walks of life. We have people that are in our stores weekly at a minumum to go through the shops to see what is going on and to try to get our tech's to help them fix a problem they might or not be having. We do have several people in our area that are doing the same as you are interested in. For the most part they are the marginal customers that we have not done the best with for making a profit from. There is a old rule that applies to many things, 80-20, twenty percent of your customers will give you 80 percent of your business! Just like 20 percent of sales people sell 80 percent of the products. It is often hard to focus and find that 20 percent and we are often shooting for the 21'st percent as customer bases change and you need to be ready to adapt to these customers. You will be in a position to give your shirt away while on a call far more then the back-up in billing so beware! The next is to be strong enough to collect as mentioned. For some customers it would or might be easy to replace you so the debt might not be easy to collect.

I had a belt size stuck in my head, B-120. I bought one although it was 6 inches longer than a sting length measurement run through the pulleys. It was the correct belt size for this mower if this helps anyone in the future. A B-120 is 123" in length.
